“I came from KS to Electric Forest with one goal: try these tamales and my life changed that day. The masa was fluffy and delicious - made with love and technique! The beans were so flavorful and the rice had a lingering spiciness that was just right. We were tasting it hours after we finished eating. Delish! I will go out of my way to get more of these tamales any chance I get. YUM!“

There was a bit of a wait since they were busy, but one bite and I totally understood why. The service was excellent! My server was so attentive and friendly. I also ordered a steak torta to go, and even though there was a small mix up with the order, they handled it like pros, remaking the steak torta and letting me keep both! Honestly, the prices and quality here blow the neighboring spots out of the water. High quality, great value, and even better people. I will definitely be back. “My girlfriend and I spontaneously found dinner here after walking down Fulton to another restaurant. We loved the atmosphere especially with the World Cup being played on all the TVs. The tacos were top tier compared to other Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in GR. The salsas provided were more comparable to a sauce. We didn’t have an issue with it but I think it would be nice to have a real salsa in a bowl for others that aren’t used to that. We had a great experience and will be back!“

“I was honestly devastated when Taqueria San Jose closed in Grand Rapids. I have spent the past several years looking for a place that could maybe be as good with no luck. A lot of good places, but none that had what TSJ had. Their nopales tacos are truly the best I have ever had, it’s my favorite style of supreme tacos, the guacamole is perfect, and the people running the restaurant are so kind! I went back for the first day they reopened on Division and it’s everything I remembered, which is tough when you’re up against nostalgia. Best Taco place in Grand Rapids hands down. “Staff isn't over overly friendly but they ARE busting thier bum and get food out REALLY FAST! And they seem to flow like a well oiled machine. saw some great teamwork that helped orders get made and out fast! It's always busy in there. I wait longer for food at McDonald's Donald's. Food is consistent for as long as I can remember. Maybe 30 years atleast! Taste reminds me of the old old long gone restaurant " Ole' Tacos". The taco meat has an original flavor I've searched & searched for (even in Detroit, Memphis & Orlando) and only found here! ♡♡ I stock up EVERY time I am close to them.
