“Everything was good. It was our first time there.. I don’t appreciate the fact that they write in the tip without telling you .I had to go back because I double tipped and nobody said anything . They let me do it without saying a word.. they should tell you that they’re adding the tip in before you pay the bill. I didn’t realize what I did until I got to my car. I had to go back and straighten it out at the restaurant. I have four kids under the age of five. It wasn’t easy for me to do this. When you’re at the table with four kids and you’re trying to pay the bill, you don’t have time to look at it to see that the tip was added in. I gave the Service five stars because I think it was good Service. I just don’t like the idea of that she knew that all this was going on ,and didn’t remind me they had already put the 20% in .“

“I honestly don't know why it has taken me so long to write a review for Alpino because my husband and I love this place so much! It has become my restaurant of choice to celebrate my birthday for many reasons. I love that they keep the beautiful patio open even during the hottest of days (which is usually what it is for my July birthday), they have the best seasonal menu additions that use local ingredients, and their laid back yet elegant charm is exactly what we always look for. The food is amazing! We love unfussy food that lets the quality ingredients shine and the raclette with a touch of honey just makes me grin from ear to ear (not to mention the tomato soup that is out of this world). The Frulingzauber "spring magic" cocktail is my favorite of all time. I would drink one every day for the rest of my life if I could. Of course, none of this would matter if the people weren't wonderful at Alpino, but they are just as warm and inviting as the food. I loved that they all signed a birthday card for me when we were there last. This is definitely a gem of a place that you don't find everywhere.“

“Ordered pizza for pickup while staying across the street at Holiday Inn Express. Although the toppings were plentiful and delicious, the crust was undercooked & a little doughy! Plus, it was on a sheet of parchment/wax paper that was completely stuck to the crust & impossible to peel off! “Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Our waiter Giorgio was charming and worked hard to make our evening perfect. Upon discovering a tiny mistake in my order, he immediately brought me a new plate (although I had not complained—the first plate was yummy). The dish I actually ordered was so delicious, but of course now I had too much food, but they expected me to take both pastas home, providing containers before I thought to ask. Then a complimentary tiramisu on top of that! We felt very well taken care of. I don’t expect such special treatment every time but the food was so good we will definitely go back as often as we can.“

“Tonight I attended a wedding at C & G and could not be more impressed, and also pissed at myself for not patronizing this welcoming restaurant sooner. I’m lactose intolerant and allergic to chicken. The staff was incredibly accommodating and gracious. This is not often a feeling I receive when bringing up food allergies. The food & drinks were so incredibly tasty and the views were unreal. The Train station, spires of St Anne’s and the Ambassador Bridge all in one shot. Turn to the left and you have the beautifully landscaped Roosevelt park to stroll through after enjoying the back porch. I’m so blown away, and so happy my friend finally got me here! “Oh MAN Rocco's is the place I have searched for in vain until last year when I tried them for the first time. Since that first meatball sub I have had almost every sandwich on the menu and so far not one has disappointed! Today I had the Corner Deli and was transported to Italian paradiso! In case you non-Italians did not know, ciabatta is the Italian baguette and Rocco's bakes many fresh loaves several times per day! Usually it is still warm from the oven even if you get a cold sandwich! There is no better sandwich bread in my progenic-Italian opinion! They are in Midtown on Cass just East of Mack. Try them if you have yet to do so. You will thank the gods!“

“It use to be be a favorite restaurant. After the renovations it has changed. I am stating from a top notch restaurant now everything has changed. Quality, wait staff, noise level. Everything was wrong when we went there. I know they have to factor cost and profit and this is what was best. Not for us, won’t be back“

“The last time I dined at The Cook’s Shop was 30 years ago; 1996, when I graduated college.

We went with some friends, made a reservation, and drives at 5:30pm on September 4th for our plans.

The young man who seated us, Carlos Jr., was super pleasant and chatted with us. Next up was our server Ian, who had previously worked in the kitchen for 3 years, so understood the menu and was able to recommend things.

We started with the fresh bread, hot from the oven, and upgraded to bruschetta. It was delicious.

The next course was The Cook’s Shop salad, which is essentially a caesar salad without the bacon. Again, scrumptious. They offer fresh grated Parmesan on top too, which makes it extra decadent.

For our meals, 3 of us opted for the Beef Stroganoff. When I say this was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, I mean it. The gravy was the perfect texture and consistency, the beef was tender, and the noodles al dente. Impeccable. Our other companion chose the lasagna, and he said it was fantastic.

Although we couldn’t finish our meals (the ladies, at least), we decided on homemade tiramisu for dessert. It was perfect. Just the right amount of sweetness.

I was so impressed that I asked if we could come back for my 50th birthday in 3 months (ugh 😔).

“I have to say, my family and I were first time customers to Little Italy Roseville and it was outstanding! Not just the food, but the service as well! There is such a variety on the menu to choose from -- I wanted a little bit of everything.😅 AJ was extremely helpful, approachable, and he even brought out the pizza to my car for me.

10/10 definitely going back and would recommend to any pizza lovers out there. Oh, and the wings?!? Phenomenal -- I'm not even a bone-in kind of guy, but these BBQ wings were the bees knees!“

“Been here several times over the last couple of years, it feels like the best place locally to get fresh pasta in GP, especially in the Village/Hill. The food is fresh, flavorful, unique, cooked perfectly, everything you'd expect and want for the cost. They do have a good happy hour that's changed around a few times, it used to be better for drinks and they are ending it earlier at 5pm but it's worth checking out. It can be difficult to get service when it's busy and you're sitting at the bar, plus on a couple of occasions I've seen people get loud and out of hand without any intervention by the management.“

“The girl at the register is very nice and pleasant on the phone. The pizza was fantastic but the menu online needs to be updated. Every pizza on the list increased 35-45% in price which equates to $6-7 extra per pizza. The large cheese pizza is $19 not $13 the pepperoni is $22 not $15.“
