“The Charlevoix is a fantastic local restaurant with an evolving menu that perfectly embraces the seasons. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great place to catch a game and meet locals who are always eager to share their love for the town.

We started our visit with a couple of cocktails expertly crafted by the bartender 'Peaches.' They were not only priced well but also absolutely excellent! Each drink was a delight, and we found ourselves wanting to try more.

While we didn't sample the food this time, we're excited to return and explore the menu. The locals were more than happy to share their favorites, giving us some great recommendations for our next visit.

Overall, The Charlevoix offers a wonderful blend of quality drinks, a welcoming atmosphere, and a sense of community that makes it stand out. We can't wait to go back.“

“I am not a food critic. But I have the time while flying back home to reflect on dinner last night. The experience was so amazing that I had to leave a glowing review. I seldom take the time to do so.

Marrow is top shelf dining experience. My friends and I went all in with the food paring ($90) and drink paring ($45) options. Pricey but well worth it. 3 small but flavorful starters, a wonderful pear salad, a chorizo and gnocchi dish head of the main event… a 7oz flat iron steak cooked to perfection over a bed of lightly smoked and tender pinto beans finishing with a single scoop of chestnut ice cream. But that was just the food. The drinks were carefully paired with each course. 5 in total. Each one balanced bitterness, sweetness, and acid with each course. My mouth was alive as if it had been raised from the dead. It was so amazing that I forgot to mentally note each drink so I could describe them in the future.

This place is a diamond in the rough. I only wish I had met the chef and the team behind the incredible experience.

I am from Los Angeles and have plenty of great places to dine. My visit to Detroit to watch my friends compete in an indoor track bike race was punctuated be this celebratory dinner.

If you love incredible food with thoughtfully pared drinks, I cannot recommend Marrow enough.“

“We came to The Whitney for an early birthday dinner for my husband. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience there! The staff went above and beyond my expectations. The food was amazing and cost was much less than I would have expected for the caliber and presentation of our meals and dessert. For all of you paranormal afficionados, their Ghost Bar is a must. The owners of The Whitney have done so much to preserve this amazing estate in Detroit without any funding assistance from the government or grants. The Alabama white pulled chicken, pulled pork, pretzels, smoked meats charcuterie board, fresh fruit, double smoked Kielbasa ( so darn delicious) and the Kale Cesar salad.. all finished off by our Family and guests. Everyone loved the beer selection, the food and the vibe at Batch!
We have always been supporters of Batch Brewery, now we feel like they are part of the Family.

“Stopped in for a quick bite and prices were a bit more than I could afford. I settled on the Harvest Orzo. Probably should have noticed bacon was added to request it removed. There were 4 squares of squash, plenty of orzo and a bed of greens. The flavor with squash was great but there weren't many pieces of it to call that the flavor of the dish. It was more like cheesy orzo. The staff was great. I felt welcomed. I know the food here can be great, this time sorry.“

Absolutely awesome perch with a generous portion. Loved the atmosphere of the old time era. Staff exceptionally friendly as was the owner. Would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to return. What I liked was the minimal breading so you have the true taste of perch. This is by far the place to go if you love perch.“

“We loved our first visit to JoJo's. It was Sunday Funday with home game #2 for the Detroit Lions and we made JoJo's our pregame stop for food and fun. I am so glad we tried it and loved it. It is a great option for adults and teens to enjoy great food and yummy sweet treats in a very nice atmosphere. We each loved our food and beverages and the service was outstanding! We will be back and I have a feeling this will be a regular stop whenever the teenagers join us for the Lions home games.“

“First thing dinning here. Wish we would have came out sooner. Fantastic experience. Warm crab dip was phenomenal. Whole red snapper, oxtail and extra cheddar risotto. Everything was excellent. Flavor and portion sizes are huge. Finished with bread pudding which the house included for our anniversary. Was delicious. Highly recommended trying this place out.“

“Great spot near the people mover. The staff was 6 stars but I could only choose 5. We took a dip in the salt water hot tub down in the grotto and enjoyed some tasty craft cocktails from the library. Super cool historical spot with great rooms and amenities. This was our 1st stay but not our last.“
