“I’ve passed this place several times and finally had a chance to try it today. Some of the best chicken wings I’ve ever had in my life. Cooked fresh to order and they did not disappoint! “I recently visited Smokies BBQ and was absolutely blown away by the incredible food! The burgers are hands down some of the best I've ever had—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and served with a great selection of toppings. If you're a fan of BBQ, their charcoal-grilled meats are unbeatable—rich, smoky flavor that takes you straight to BBQ heaven. The Mac and Cheese is another standout—creamy, cheesy, and comforting in all the right ways. “We celebrated our August wedding anniversary at Coriander, and were delighted! We sat in the Greenhouse, the view was great, loved the decor. Our server was friendly and helpful, everyone was so kind. Loved the drinks Thad made, our meals, Rainbow Trout and Shrimp Boil were excellent. My guy enjoyed the peach cobbler for dessert, the cookies were delicious as well. As native Detroiters, we are thrilled with this venue, and will be back!“

“Delicious is all I can use to describe it. The ribs were literally falling off the bone tender and yummy great sauce to meat ratio. The brisket was tender as well very good with the garlic bread. The Mac and cheese was pretty good and the collard greens were the same. Well worth what I paid for it all I'll definitely be back. Bought myself birthday dinner and glad I did.“

“Happened to meet Chef Pops and his nephew Larry when I got a flat tire right outside their restaurant. First I would say they are very nice/friendly people and gave me a hand getting things started with the tire. I ended up grabbing wings, rib tips and mac and cheese after the tire was fixed. Really good authentic Detroit BBQ. I will be back. Thank you guys!“

“We dined in. And the place wasn't packed. Very clean. Good came at a nice pace . Service was not to par for them being empty.. then for just two ppl at 70 dollars which is good. They added almost 20 dollar gratuity. Wtf. I dnt mind tipping at all but dnt force me to tip over what the server deserves. Or an outrageous amount. I was also told with the platter I got two sides. Well when the bill came I was charged for one side.“
“A group of about 10 of us stopped in on a Monday for happy hour - there was a nice crowd, music was playing, sparsely decorated. They have a great patio right on Woodward which is why we came, but it ended up raining. Although only one bartender was working, cocktails came out fast and tasted fresh and good. They have an interesting n/a mocktail made with homemade cordial and soda - I didn't try it this time, but it's good to know they have an option other than soda and lime. The aperol spritz looked good as did the spicy margarita. A good place to catch a quick drink.
They have an interesting food menu - sushi during the day and late night, and bbq for dinner. Maybe a little odd, but I remember when this place was Oslo and had the best sushi, so maybe it makes sense? I'll have to come back to try the food. Everyone working has also been really friendly, so I'd come back. An excellent location if you work downtown.“

“Omg great pizza I got extra cheese, pineapple, and bacon I would have gave them 5 stars just little under cooked plus the sauce is a strong tomato paste flavor need a little more spices .It was the deal for 29.99 for two large 3 topping and they let you use extra cheese as a topping without extra charging. Yeah, look at that. I’ve been wanting this one. My score is a 6.9“

“I was working on a job and was utilizing their lot unknowingly. The daughter came out and asked if I was okay. After everything was cleared up, I asked if they make personal pizzas, which they do. I went inside to pay for it, and “pops” as I see people refer him as, paid for my food. That was a very kind gesture of kindness. The next time I have a job in the area, I’ll be back! The pizza was great!“

“Steve's Soul Food at 1440 Franklin Street in Detroit's Warehouse District, just a couple blocks from the River, is finally back open as of August 20, 2023. I'd prefer 2-3 visits before providing an opinion, but it's definitely worth a try. According to staff, hours are 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday thru Sunday.“
