“Veganly Essential has amazing food! Chef Kameal was very professional and communicated clearly throughout the process. My order was prepared exactly as requested and was ready on time at the designated pickup location. Highly recommended!

I decided to skip cooking this year, and I’m so glad I did. I discovered Veganly Essential with Vegan Chef Kameal Paree' by a random vegan restaurant Google search, and ordered her Party of 1 Thanksgiving Meal — and wow, it did not disappoint!

The meal came with crispy oyster mushrooms, smoked greens, sweet potatoes, creamy vegan dressing, vegan mac, a cornbread muffin, cranberry sauce, gravy, barbecue sauce…plus a slice of vegan sweet potato pie and lavender lemonade. It was honestly enough to share, and everything tasted amazing.

My absolute favorite? Those crispy oyster mushrooms! They were perfectly seasoned and truly crispy.

“The restaurant is a little smaller with a more intimate feel. We sat at a small high top table next to the bar and we couldn’t have asked for better service. Throughout the night, at least 6 different servers took care of us (sitting next to the bar, we were taken care of by the bartenders.) The food and drinks were amazing and the service was top notch. My boyfriend had the peach cocktail and then an old fashion with honey cinnamon syrup and I had the mule which all of the drinks were absolutely delicious. We both had the Steak frites which was cooked to perfection and the fries I just couldn’t get enough of. For dessert, we took home the banana pie dessert and the Dubai chocolate cheesecake special and let me just say, oh my goodness. Neither of us knew which one we liked better. We will definitely be back! Thank you for an amazing valentines dinner :)“

The food is amazing--the chicken sandwich is the best you'll ever have in your lifetime. Don't leave without trying the tea. What a presentation! Everyone was super attentive, professional, and welcoming, but Raegan really stood out. “We tried the Detroit Pepper Company tonight, first time! We went with the Detroit Stuffed Pepper, beef with parmesan cheese. Very good taste, and huge. We also ordered the Vegan Stuffed Pepper, but we will have to try it tomorrow for lunch...too full from the Detroit Stuffed Pepper! We also tried the lentil bean soup, very nice. And my wife enjoyed the Mango Tastic smoothie:-) We're happy to learn about the Detroit Pepper Company, and we'll be back. Highly recommended. “Grand Trunk Pub is a classic spot in downtown Detroit with a lot of character. The building itself is historic, and the high ceilings and old architecture give the place a really cool, vintage vibe. It feels like a mix of a traditional pub and a local Detroit hangout.

The food is solid pub-style comfort food. I tried the Reuben sandwich and it was flavorful and satisfying, especially with one of their Michigan craft beers. They have a great selection of local brews, which makes the experience even better.

Service was friendly and relaxed, and the atmosphere was lively without being too loud. Overall, Grand Trunk Pub is a great place to grab a drink and a hearty meal if you’re exploring downtown Detroit.“

One of the cakes was a custom flavour not on their list of options, I let them know what my request was and they provided options on how they could make it work. If you are ordering try to give at least a few days notice ( I gave a week). These cakes are not something thrown together- they are custom made just for you and I imagine they take some time to plan and prepare.“
