We typically get carry out and eat at home but last night 11/4/2025 we made reservations for my birthday to come in a dine in! The atmosphere alone was outstanding and the service was amazing. Now to get to the food...all our food was prepared with love and to perfection, I'm very picky about my spaghetti sauce but let me tell you their sauce is the best I've ever had i mean it. It makes me feel like I'm with family at home, and afterwards our waitress brought out little Cannolis for my birthday. As we were leaving restaurant the owner (I'm assuming that's who it was) took his time to ask us how everything was and joke around a little with us. Upon discovering a tiny mistake in my order, he immediately brought me a new plate (although I had not complained—the first plate was yummy). The dish I actually ordered was so delicious, but of course now I had too much food, but they expected me to take both pastas home, providing containers before I thought to ask. Then a complimentary tiramisu on top of that! We felt very well taken care of. Plus, it was on a sheet of parchment/wax paper that was completely stuck to the crust & impossible to peel off! It has become my restaurant of choice to celebrate my birthday for many reasons. I love that they keep the beautiful patio open even during the hottest of days (which is usually what it is for my July birthday), they have the best seasonal menu additions that use local ingredients, and their laid back yet elegant charm is exactly what we always look for. The food is amazing! We love unfussy food that lets the quality ingredients shine and the raclette with a touch of honey just makes me grin from ear to ear (not to mention the tomato soup that is out of this world). The Frulingzauber "spring magic" cocktail is my favorite of all time. I would drink one every day for the rest of my life if I could. Of course, none of this would matter if the people weren't wonderful at Alpino, but they are just as warm and inviting as the food. I loved that they all signed a birthday card for me when we were there last. This is definitely a gem of a place that you don't find everywhere.“

“We are here for our anniversary and both the food and the service were excellent! We were helped by Chloe and Charlie and they were quick and so sweet. We had the garlic bruschetta, carbonara and salmon which was more than enough to share. The pasta was so fresh and the salmon may have been my favorite salmon I’ve ever had. Because it was our anniversary they gave us a complimentary dessert and sent over a prosecco toast on the house! Really excellent place I can’t recommend it more!“

“Charming. An old school Italian restaurant in a charming part of Grosse Pointe Park. A family friendly restaurant without being adult unfriendly ?. I went with a classic lasagna and it tasted like I was a “made man” in the Corleone family or something. Heaven! Atmosphere was classy without being stuffy. Midweek dinner and not much of a crowd so we were seated right away. I think my favorite part was tomato sauce that was used in the lasagna.“
