“Came here with a couple friends really dear to me and this place did Not disappoint!!! Our bread was super fresh and hot and they also made sure our drinks were kept fresh and refilled, the service was amazing both waiters kept checking up and making sure everything was good. “I went to Taj AL-Yemen simply because it was open early and did not realize the space they took over nor how much variety they have.

1st this was a very famous breakfast spot in Hamtramck before the change of owners and I'm happy to say it still is. Very steady stream of workers coming in for a quick bite or grab coffee and something to go.

2nd the variety is wide and it's all very very good. I ordered fosoulia with egg, chicken galaba but it was too early for tandoori bread. I also got a mango lassi (yes I have to order it everytime I see it)

When I arrived I first drove past remembering the old spot then I double checked GPS. The inside layout of the restaurant has been redone, lots and lots of seating. You still have the doughnut counter but the I noticed Burek, whenever I see Burek I have to order it they have feta and spiced beef. It's super fresh and still warm at 7:15 am.

There's another hot food case, lots of choices but I saw the East African/Western Arabian (Arab/Swahili) style sambosas (yes with the B!) and of course I had to get 6 of those with the spice shake.

Additionally they have the same Arab/Swahili style sesame + honey crackers so I had to get some of these as well.

FINALLY I'm looking and they have the tastiest looking Saffron Rice and it was too fresh to pass up and a medium size box also had to come with me.

Now when I say I bought a lot of food I really mean I bought a lot of food. With tip it was only $70 and I'll be eating for days.

So happy to have found this gem in Hamtramck that opens up super early on my 2nd day of vacation. There's too much good food, the doughnut also look amazing. I'd say you have to go for the samBosas alone.“

“Ordered food to go through UberEats. The food portions were really generous. I liked the mandi rice and mandi chicken which were really authentic and tasty. The mandi lamb could have been more tinder and the broth was not clear and had many of the bottom spices. Overall, the food was really delicious, authentic and worth the price. The only issue I had was with UberEats experience where they picked up the wrong order at the first time“

This was actually my second time, I’ve been before for a friends birthday and we had a different menu…..the pomegranate ribs were mouthwatering delicious. “At a recent family birthday celebration, I needed appetizers at the last minute. I went to the right people for help! It was no problem for Kal and Ann! They cheerfully made fresh batches of delicious hummus (two varieties) which came with chips and pita bread. I served that, along with two kinds of their fabulous soup, to my dinner guests. Everyone complimented the delicious food Kal and Ann prepared. If you haven’t tried KAL’s Lunch Bowl, located in the Royal Oak Farmers Market yet, I recommend it. You won’t be a “just another customer” ~~ You’ll be a FRIEND!“

“Just tried your new Ft Wayne location yesterday. Having lived in Saudi Arabia for years, your food is as close to legit as I have found since moving back to the USA!! “This place is awesome. The service is incredible. But the food was even better! The interior of it takes you back to a simpler time. Family owned and operated. The server was the sister of the cook. The coney dogs didn’t stand a chance. Fries were so crunchy and delicious. While there, the folks sitting to the left of me ordered breakfast. “So good! The octopus was the best octopus dish I've ever eaten - it was so tender with a slight crisp and so flavorful. I didn't even get a picture before we dug into it. The pork collar was a great blend of textures and flavors - I got extra bread just to have a delivery vehicle for the peach conserva in this dish. The croquettes were a must too, they packed so much mushroom goodness in them. We got 3 small plates and 4 large plates, which was more than enough for 4 people. Will be coming back again.“
