“This was our second visit to Hamilton’s. Upon arrival back, we were immediately reminded why we rebooked. This time last year, the hotel and restaurant were barely open but still left an incredible impression.

This time around, we were just in time to try the new fall menu - which was texted to us in advance with our reservation confirmation. As part-time vegetarians, I’d had my eye on the lasagna. It just so happened, they had a “taste” of lasagna on the specials menu that evening. The vegetables and pasta were cooked perfectly. With the mushrooms, you didn’t miss the meat - at all. And the béchamel. Oh my goodness.

On the advice of Manager David, we also tried the whole roasted chicken. Holy. Moly. This bird was herb brined, starring rosemary. Juicy, tender, perfection. Crispy skin. The smashed potatoes were just stupidly good. Creamy and crispy perfection.

The food, signature cocktails, and amazing wine selections aside, the true stars of Hamilton’s are the staff. David was ever-present without being over-present. BJ delivered his artistry in libation form flawlessly. And Chef personally delivered the chicken and heard all our feedback. We felt like superstars the entire evening.

“Love this restaurant! We travel from Windsor Ontario to eat here because of the great food and drink. However the best part of Troy Yard House is the staff. Namely Sara who works the bar. She is simply amazing. I marvel at how she commands the bar yet encages with each of her customers. We have been here several times and attend based on Sar's schedule. I have never had an experience as bad as the one I just had at Firebird Tavern. Needless to say I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. The visit started well and our server was very pleasant and attentive. Halfway through our visit, a full tray of drinks and shots was spilled on me to the point that a mop was needed and a wet floor signed was placed behind me. Not only that, but my white shirt is stained and not reparable. I was soaked. The server eventually did apologize to me and told me that she was personally comping ONE of my drinks. First of all, I would NEVER expect the server to comp any drinks. Second of all, I was never approached by the manager to access the damage or talk about comps, WHICH I would assume from the establishment itself. When we were brought our bill, I asked the server, ‘what is the establishment taking care of for my damages’. The manager eventually came to talk to me and did not seem aware of the situation, even after many servers explained what happened and I showed him my clothing that was still wet and stained. He simply replied that the server was comping one drink and he would see what he could do. The server came back with the same bill, no initiative from the bar or manager and I paid for the bill as it was. How is this acceptable from a bar that my table paid several rounds of drinks and food for the night? I have never experienced this lack of care in my life and cannot express my disappointment and frustration with the management and overall experience of Firebird. What an embarrassment to our city. As a resident of the downtown area, I would never expect such a terrible experience.“

The Alabama white pulled chicken, pulled pork, pretzels, smoked meats charcuterie board, fresh fruit, double smoked Kielbasa ( so darn delicious) and the Kale Cesar salad.. all finished off by our Family and guests. Everyone loved the beer selection, the food and the vibe at Batch!

The food was amazing and cost was much less than I would have expected for the caliber and presentation of our meals and dessert. For all of you paranormal afficionados, their Ghost Bar is a must. The owners of The Whitney have done so much to preserve this amazing estate in Detroit without any funding assistance from the government or grants. Parking: There are about 20 parking spots, that are very close to the front of the restaurant, as well as the option of valet parking (most evenings). The “overflow” spots are conveniently located and nearby, as well.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are handicap spots up front and valet parking available most evenings. The doorways and pathways in the restaurant are ample to accommodate a wheelchair or walker.“

“I had the chicken wings and garlic aloi fries. The wings was really good, big wings and had a lot of sauce on them. It's 12 for 20 which to me kinda expensive. The fries was disappointed in 7 dollars for some fries that's half of them was soggy. There was little cheese on it. The ones that was cooked was okay. I wouldn't highly recommend it but I would give it another try if different cooks was working. Saw one guy had to give his wings back before me because they was under cooked.“

“Me and my girlfriend ordered from this place and we got take out. I've never been here before. She's been here a few times. I got the chorizo hash with scrambled eggs, and she got a breakfast sandwich. The wait wasn't too long, and you could see when you walked in that they were making everything fresh and to order, so you are definitely getting food right off the grill. I got the food and took it home. The hash was amazing and seasoned very well, the chorizo was tasty and the eggs were perfect but the potatoes were the best. She loved her breakfast sandwich. The food and the service was impeccable. Our guests were so pleased at the attention to detail and the promptness of the serving staff. The event manager, Jenna, made the entire planning process easy and stress free. She helped us set up our buffet menu and was there day of assisting in decorating and making sure everything was in order. I would highly recommend hosting a private event here and plan to do so myself for future events!“
