“Burger was honestly pretty good, I did not have high expectations, and it was pretty darn good. Staff is really approachable and friendly. Live music the night I went, and they were really great! Other patrons really seemed to enjoy the music as well.The only reasons I didn't give five stars all around was that it was weird sitting at a table right next to the men's bathroom and trying to eat, and the chairs are in a need of a change. Spring was coming out of one that would hit the floor. These still wouldn't stop me from coming back, but I would pick another table in the future.“

“Still one of the best fish and chips around. It's just disappointing that the all you can eat Friday "fish fry" is no more. $19 for a generousportion. Add 2 drafts to wash it down and It's $45 per. Another sign of the times which likely explains a significant number open tables.“

“Just hosted my husbands 40th birthday and it was the perfect experience! Booking was super easy. Everyone had an incredible time and every staff member we interacted with was top notch. They were super helpful for those who hadn’t done it before and jumped in to help when some members of our party just weren’t getting the swing of it. Highly recommend!!“

“Always great service and a friendly atmosphere that is worth the long drive. The free wi-fi means people can do their work from right here. Makalya and Madalyn are excellent bar tenders that are always friendly and fast to refill your drinks...Parking: Large number of spots all around the buliding and its easy to find a spot“

“*7/2024 Still the #1 spot for us in the area hands down!This is our go to spot for dinner and a few drinks. It's the closest restaurant to our home and we're glad for that. Awesome food (Big Buck Roll up and Fries are my favorite), great staff, and the ambiance is off the charts for our liking.They have lots of IPA beers to which I don't drink but in the summer they usually have some pretty solid brews on tap.“

“Tried their new bacon bacon burger for $9.99 and it was delicious! Our waitress was a doll and I felt terrible because I must have knocked my receipt on the floor and she had to spend the time getting her manager to reprint it so she can run it through the credit machine. She was so sweet about it I just hate making somebody's job harder than it needs to be.“

“Great burgers, favorite is the gourmet burger with goat cheese. Have heard good things about all their other food as well. There is usually a wait for food (sometimes over an hour) but the waitresses will let you know. Very small inside , they have tables and a bar area. Highly recommend!“

“This is a regularly visited diner. Our usual meal is to split a Maurice salad with and without a provided loaf of bread. We have enjoyed every meal we have ever ordered. The wait staff and owner are always prompt, courteous and engaging. Other favorites are the barbecued beef tips, and the fish and chips. I believe they provide good value with the quality of food and service they deliver.“

“I only had a sandwich and some mozzarella sticks but those were good and other people seemed happy with their meals - but mostly here to say the atmosphere / service at this place is unmatched. Amy & Heather who I got the opportunity to have as bartenders and servers both times I came (and they’re sisters! How fun) both went beyond the call of normal service. This place was the closest nearby spot to an emergency vet I took my dog to after an attack. I was obviously a bit solemn when I came in the first time for lunch and immediately they asked me if I was okay and both came around the bar to hug me when tears started welling and listened to my story and showed so much care and compassion for my poor doggy. When I came back a week later they recognized me IMMEDIATELY and asked how my boy was doing and were overjoyed when I said he’s healing well and getting stitched up today. I also wanted to come back to get their names just so I could be sure to mention them by name in a review because they certainly deserve it. Outside of that, clearly they (and the rest of the staff here) have compassion and familiarity with mostly everyone who walked in the door. They impressively remembered names, usual orders, and asked specific questions about peoples’ lives (and I was sitting at the bar for a long time while I waited for my dog both times and got to witness LOTS of interactions) - all were overwhelmingly positive. I love love LOVE this place. I live in Detroit and rarely come to the suburbs unless I need to - but I might have to start making Mr. Joe’s a regular stop ❤️❤️❤️❤️“

“The food was very delicious and in huge portions! I was very satisfied with the size, quality, and deliciousness of the food for the cost. It is a little pricey compared to other places in the area, but the quality and portions make it worth it.The only real issue we had was our server, who was new on the job. I'm not sure if they do not provide great training or what the issue was. She did not know how to ring in any of the happy hour specials. She was not very friendly, as well as very short and unpleasant. I understand being new, but when you don't know how to do something and just walk away mid taking an order with out explaining why you did it is terrible customer service. This happened multiple times through out the 4 people at our table ordering. I'm going to assume it was a training issue because she seemed clueless, but trying her best and almost frustrated with the situation she was in.“

“There was about 15 of us that went to Art and Jakes in Clarkston on Sunday for a Detroit Lions game. We arrived a few hours early knowing there would be many people coming for the game and got a great spot in the bar area. Our waitress, Kendall, was nothing short of outstanding. The place got absolutely packed for the game, and we had different groups joining our table throughout the day, and this girl never got rattled or lost the friendly smile on her face. If we needed an extra chair or two, management was on it. From someone who spent 16 years in the restaurant industry, I know when people just get it right and they do. The food is great too, but the service is what I call "winning at the margins". It was such a fun atmosphere and a great time. My group had many compliments about the team.If your in the area or looking for a stop on your way to Pine Knob or to watch sports, I highly recomment you stop in.“

“I decided to go the soup and appetizer route for lunch today. I've eaten here several times but have never left a review. Today was a solo lunch trip. Started off with the French onion soup. Hands down best French onion soup in the Tri State area. The broth had a perfect balance of onion flavor and salt. Strips of onion & chunky croutons are buried under a thick layer of baked Provolone. When served, you see the crispy cheese hanging over the sides(which is always the last part I eat). Once you break that layer of Provolone, your tongue starts to get wet in anticipation for that 1st bite. Stringy cheese, onions, croutons & the broth are a perfect bite. A bread stick is served with the soup, but in my opinion, it's not needed. I ordered the Bomber Tots for my meal & was absolutely surprised at how delicious they were. It's basically a Nacho Supreme, but instead of corn chips, you get tater tots. On a large bed of Tator Tots is a very generous amount of chili, which is smothered in Queso. On top of that is another thick layer of mixed cheeses & chopped scallions & a side of sour cream.I guess I needed to come here on my own to really appreciate the food here before I wrote a review.“

The food though I have been twice with groups of 4 all getting different items and everyone raves about their choice. “We were given a gift certificate for my husband's birthday. When I told the waitress that this was our first time and his birthday, she wished him a happy birthday and took our order. She must have overheard us talking about how they had deep fried trees, my husband's favorite. At the end of our dinner, she brought over a small bowl of ice cream with a deep fried oreo. “I would 10/10 recommend this place. Our wait staff was super friendly and got us whatever we needed. We even had 2 separate people waiting on us. The ambiance is cool with all the signs and designed tiles on the ceiling. If you're looking for some good bar food this is the place.“

“First time here as a non golfer. Came for a work event. The facility was nice. Was a pretty cool place. The only reason for 4 stars on service was because i had to look for our server when i needed a drink, and i might be extra critical on customer service. “Wow!!!! Let me say that Adam, Mike and staff made my daughter's 13th birthday party/Bat Mitsvah absolutely perfect! I could not ask for a better venue with a better staff than On the Dunes. We had over 150 people and it was organized & managed perfectly. They let us come in early and add decorations before our party and helped us out doing it. All night long Mike made sure food, drinks and activities were flowing. He was in constant contact with me on the status of everything. The staff was amazing. They were so nice and professional. I have been to many establishments and have never had the personal touch they provided. The food was great, from the dips to the sliders. We had several foodies & some professional chefs for this party, and they were impressed by the quality of the "Bar Food", especially the chicken tenders. I never post reviews, but my experience was amazing. This is a Gem for all small and big events.“

“Good food, kitchen open late (1145 for grill foods, 1230ish for remaining fryer foods). Friendly staff, and the TVs all work now. Good for groups and has the vibe like a local place should be. You can play pool, darts, or Golden Tee. The place has a wide range of ages and personalities, so no need to feel out of place. The menu isn't a wide selection, but they offer peanut butter on anything you want or request, so you can't argue with that. They also have rotating specials each day (some days for food, other days specials for drinks). Recommend the Jammin' Burger with bacon, jack cheese, bbq sauce and peanut butter or just ask for peanut butter with anything - they have the means!“
