“Had dinner with some friends there tonight. Food and drinks were very good. Staff was great, from the person I booked the reservation with on the phone, to the young man who seated us. Our waitress was very attentive. The young man that brought our apps and food was fantastic, very friendly, and he even brought out extra dipping sauce without asking when he saw we were sharing the apps.“

“I randomly decided to stop here on my way back to Marshall from Kalamazoo the other day with my son. I always see it but never thought to stop. I’m so glad I did because the daily specials were cheap, the food was great, and the service was kind. Great cup of coffee as well.“

“Our family recently went to The Crew Restaurant on Portage Road in Kalamazoo with a party of 14 on Saturday night. I was able to make reservations two weeks ahead of time which was awesome. When we got there 30 minutes early, they were already set up for us and we were able to sit down without a wait.

The waitress was so nice and friendly and got us drinks right away. Shortly after our whole party arrived, we were ordering food and the waitress really took care of us. Not only was she attentive but she had a great attitude, answered our requests with a smile and had great attention to details.

The food was soooo good! I had the fried chicken wrap with fries and a side order of onion rings because I wanted to try it all having never been there. Everything was delicious and the fries were the right amount of crunch without being overly seasoned like some places can be. My husband ordered breakfast and it looked very good too! I usually shy away from getting eggs at a restaurant, but his eggs were perfectly done with no slimy bits. His breakfast potatoes were crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside and the pancakes were the size of a salad plate! Our son and daughter-in-law got the sample appetizer that had mozzarella sticks, deep fried mushrooms, onion rings, and chicken tenders. All of which they loved. They shared a couple of their deep fried mushrooms with me and I would totally get those again. My daughter-in-law got the BLT and the bacon was the right amount of crispy and so big it was hanging off the bread. Perfect for stealing bites of which our son did a couple of times. My brother-in-law got the turkey dinner with a baked potato and stuffing and he said that was really good too. I wish I could write more of what other people got but I was so happy with my food that I didn’t pay attention.

It was reasonably priced too. My dinner of fried chicken wrap, fries, side order onion rings, and hubby’s order of 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes, toast and a side order of 2 pancakes, plus we both got Coke (and refills) all came to $40.00. And we had little boxes to take home of leftovers. All in all, we were all pleasantly surprised and have now deemed this our new spot.“

“One of my favorite American food restaurant. The selection is great something for any of us. Homemade bread and pastries top notch. Favorite ruebarb pie hands down. My favorite are the breakfast selections. The staff have always been helpful. No complaints. We drive 40 minutes to get there although there are restaurants within five minutes from our house. I say yes go. I saw a comment about the clientele being unfriendly. That's a development that has increased since 2016 and not limited to the Grove Cafe. Love this restaurant.“

“Menu online has changed. Photo of menu will be added. Company doesn't have access to the business account to change anything. Since the restaurant business isn't advertised, they maybe feed total of 5-20 people a night , rarely that it's 20.A new chef took over in April 2025, due to very little business the menu is small but very delicious. The chef is a culinarian of 28 years and also runs the banquets. Phenomenal food that I've experienced.“

“my husband and I and my sister was just there Thursday 3/22/23 and the food was better than I remembered and the coffee was fantastic im glad they had French vanilla creamer, my sister and I got the French toast with a side of ham and it was fantastic my husband got eggs, hashbrowns , toast , bacon and ham the service was fantastic as well .. I would definitely recommend this place 10/10“

“I have come here quiet a few times over the years and haven't had a problem. I am a stickler for customer service though. I don't know who trains the ones that work at the take out counter, but there needs to be more!!!! Picked up an order and there was NO thank you, have a good night, or no smile!!! I didnt even know if the receipt was mine, she sort of just tossed it onto the box. Good old customer service is your first in with the community!!!“

“If you get the opportunity to be served by Logan and Jade downstairs, do not miss it under any circumstance. I haven’t been to downtown in a long time (I’m a country hick), and these two treated my group like we were the only people in the restaurant. As far as those two were concerned, we were royalty. While they were “just doing their jobs,” they were amazing. If the rest of the staff is half as good as these two, do not hesitate to stop in. We could not have dreamed of better service. I just hope we tipped enough for how they treated us.“

“I usually don’t do reviews but this place definitely needs the recognition. My boyfriend and I were really looking for a new type of place to eat at something a little more homey. When we saw this place we went in with normal expectations for the service was amazing. The people working were nothing but kind and charming, something about them made us feel so welcome. Let’s talk about the food though, When I tell you i’ve never had a better chicken sandwich I genuinely mean that. The portions were large, the prices were cheap. I loved it, will definitely become a regular place we go to.“

“I've been on a catfish kick the last couple years. Here to tell y'all about this place. Discovered it Door Dashing, lol, and the food would smell so good as I drove it to others! It's best for taking out and eating at home or in the park/somewhere. They provide everything you need to do so (silverware, napkins, sauces, etc). My favorite is the fillets but I had the catfish nuggets today and I'm happy! Highly suggest adding that cheese to the fries, yo. Oh, and one serving from them is bound to feed me 2-3x. If you don't have an air fryer, I suggest you invest. Enjoy!“

“Place was very good, food was good, atmosphere was very nice got to watch football on the televisions in there. Look out for Jaina W. she is so nice and provided excellent service! Although our appetizers were a little late, it was good after all. Definitely coming back in the future.
