“Two nights ago , my wife and I dined at Al Shallal, a Lebanese family owned and operated restaurant. We were warmly greeted by hostess/server Nourhan and offered menus. My wife ordered an absolutely delicious falafel plate that was accompanied by a marvelous tahini sauce and rice. I chose the perfectly spiced and prepared mixed grill (beef kabob, chicken tawook and beef kafta served with a pungent garlic sauce and rice. Our order included, as a prelude, a choice of salad or soup. We opted for the homemade (all items we ordered were made from scratch) chicken lemon soup: shredded chicken, and rice in a deeply flavorful lemony chicken broth (yum). Our servings were generously portioned and absolutely scrumptious. Following the meal, we ordered homemade, once again, baklava and a small pot of a cardamom infused Lebanese coffee. Food heaven. Nourhan was an absolutely wonderful server (daughter of the owners who were the chefs). We have dined at many Lebanese, Iraqi and Iranian restaurants. Al Shallal, in Dearborn Heights , Michigan ranks at the very top for quality, price, taste, presentation, authenticity and service. Thank you Nourhan and family.“

“This place is amazing! And not just the food… The family owned atmosphere and the people running it our amazing. While I was waiting for my takeout order, I started talking to the two owners, their two adult sons, whowho were all having dinner… I commented how good their homemade chicken wings smelled and looked. Before I knew it, I was being forced to eat their chicken wings, dates, and the specialty drink that they were having for their dinner. I can’t wait to go back! The food is so good and the people were better.“

We were looking for some good Mediterranean food, and this might be my favorite 🤍 We tried Muhammara for the first time, and I fell in love ✨ Muhammara is hummus-like dip made from red peppers and spices. It’s a tad spicy, it’s kind of sweet, and it’s SOOO TASTEY!! We also tried the Lamb Mansaf. Everything was amazing, the service was amazing. I felt at home at Al Chabab ☺️
UPDATE: we came back the next day for more!! This time we tried the Al-Chabab Cherry Kabob and it did not disappoint!! This is seriously some of the tastiest food I have ever tasted 💛💛💛“

“Mashalla this is the best restaurant I have ever went to in my entire goddman life! Like, sheesh bro, calm down with the quality and tenderness of your chicken, my mouth exploded of joy when I devouered this divine dish! Allah must have bestowed this chef with his extraordinary cooking skills. Just absolutlely fabulous!
And my god, the atmosphere was just something else! The prison vibes were so accurate I felt like I was never gonna get out of this place, although I actually forgot that I have indeed murdererd someone and deserve to be in here! Absolutely crazy.
Also the variety of the food was great! Chicken and shrimp are only some of the few extravagant choices on the menu, but they are by far my absolute favorites (although I thought they tasted quite similar).
And the service was also ambsolutely amazing! The waiter (also the cook) was kind enough to provide me with a menu as soon as I entered and cleared a table for us by scooping up the remains of previous guests' food with a plastic tablecloth and making it magically dissapear like a wizard! And such grace in his movements! Truly the mark of a professional at work!
All in all the best restaurant experience I have ever had in my life!

“I walked in and had a soujuk sub, chicken sub, and quesadilla. The food was really good and was made fresh, I was greeted at the door with smiles, the place was very clean and best of all the price of all of this was only 25 dollars. I was very amazed it was this good of a price because we don’t see that anymore nowadays. I loved the food and the people were great, I will Definitely be a returning customer and recommend everyone to try it if they need a lunch or a late night dinner. But we usually split the platter for 2 when we are both eating here because it lets you try multiple things and gives you way more food. we always have leftovers so we get to eat more of this amazing food later on. All the meat has been juicy and tender. We love the rice with the almonds in it. Everything is just delicious! Can't wait to come back. I want to try other things because they have so many things that sound good but we also love what we get already so it's so hard to switch it up! lol Might have to try something new next time though just to see what else we like. “Fantastic manaeesh. We ordered half zaatar/half cheese, sojouk and cheese, spinach and cheese, meat, and keshk, all extra toasted, and they did not disappoint. The manaeesh were a great size (we ordered all regular), topped very generously, and ready quickly.

We also got two cups of tea with the order, and the total came out to $30, which is surprisingly affordable for the quality, size, and topping generosity (especially compared to what Houston offers).

The sojouk tasted exactly like the ones in Lebanon. The spinach was fresh, which made a huge difference. The zaatar tasted authentic, and the cheese was actually good (not plasticky). The meat mixture was very moist with no gamey smell, and the keshk wasn’t dry at all. Overall, everything tasted fresh, well made, and truly authentic. As a very picky eater (especially when it comes to Lebanese food as I’ve has the real deal plenty of times) highly recommend.“

I dont know if something got lost in translation or if its genuinely like this everytime, but the tabouleh and fries I got would be large or extra large at most other places. The tabouleh was the best ive had from outside the home. The fries are fantastic, and the chicken shawarma came LOADED.“
