“This place is awesome. The service is incredible. But the food was even better! The interior of it takes you back to a simpler time. Family owned and operated. The server was the sister of the cook. The coney dogs didn’t stand a chance. Fries were so crunchy and delicious. While there, the folks sitting to the left of me ordered breakfast. I’m definitely coming back just based off of how good their hash browns looked. 10/10. Definitely coming back!“

“We dined here prior to seeing a show at the Fisher. From the minute we walked in we were so Impressed. The staff at the door were super friendly and took us directly to our seats. The waitstaff was extremely attentive, and the food was amazing. We cannot wait to go back. We highly recommend!“

“This place is amazing! The food is delicious the atmosphere is energetic! The staff are all friendly. The Mediterranean salad with a blackened protein is such an excellent explosion of flavor in your mouth. The CAPER BERRIES OMG!!! You have to try this place at least once. “I was highly impressed with this restaurant. It was one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had in awhile.
We enjoyed the incredible view and our delicious courses. The staff was very friendly and warm to us the moment we walked through the door. I am so sad the city is changing The Renaissance Center. At least I was able to go to the top before that takes place.“

“So, I tried 22 coneys this day and they were in one of the better ones. The business itself was very busy, but the staff was quick and efficient and extremely patient about the questions that I had about their food.

“My girlfriend and meself stopped in randomly after the Eastern Market and had one of the best meals and experience we’ve had while visiting Detroit. The Tokyo muscles were the best muscles I’ve ever had. We had a classic Bloody Mary and their hot sauce really brought some heat! We got the Carmel cookie coffee as well and that was swell as well. The environment and staff especially made the experience even better. We had Rhonda as a server and she was very pleasant and helped give us recommendations that turned out to be very tasty. Overall we were glad we chose to eat at Vivio’s and will definitely be back next time we wander to Detroit.“

“Stopped here before a concert at LCA last night - obviously busy, but wait wasn’t bad at all and we were able to get a drink at the bar and wait outside. I wish I could remember our servers name, but she was absolutely stellar! She was super friendly, funny and quick despite having a large section on a busy night. Got the shrimp tacos (AMAZING and filling - has a perfect amount of “kick”) and my husband got the hot chicken sandwich (the one small bite I was allowed was phenomenal) overall 10/10 experience!“

“We came to enjoy dinner for our anniversary. Our waiter was very attentive and observant to our needs. The food was phenomenal! I had the black and blue salad. The steak on it was perfectly seasoned and tender. I added shrimp and they were huge! My husband had the filet and it was the best filet we have even had! Again it was perfectly seasoned and juicy and tender. We will definitely be back. We are staying at the hotel which is beautiful as well“

“The Ham Shop truly feels like a hidden gem in Detroit, and I’m so glad I stumbled across it! From the moment I walked in, the service was warm, friendly, and welcoming. The food came out fast and hot, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. And I HAVE to mention the lemon rice soup, SO GOOD, I had to make a request to have one to go!
The owner was also incredibly friendly and personable. He took the time to chat and made the whole experience feel so welcoming and personal.
I left feeling full, happy, and already wanting to come back. This place genuinely made my day! I’m so glad I discovered it and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend checking out the Ham Shop in Detroit!“

“From the moment we arrived, our experience was nothing short of amazing. The food was outstanding—every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm, friendly, and fun, making it the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable and welcome. On top of that, the location is fantastic, with plenty of activities nearby to enjoy before or after your meal, which really added to the overall experience. The highlight of our visit, however, was our waitress, Ashley W. She went above and beyond in every way. Ashley anticipated our every need before we even had to ask, showing an attentiveness that is rare to find. She was friendly, personable, and very knowledgeable about the menu, which made ordering so much easier and more enjoyable. Her positive energy and genuine care turned what was already a great dining experience into something truly memorable. Ashley is, without a doubt, the main reason my family and I plan to return. Her service left such a lasting impression on us that we would gladly make the trip back to Michigan just to eat here again. It is rare to come across someone who takes so much pride in their work and makes every guest feel special, but Ashley did exactly that. “Went on a Monday night and it was busy which was a good sign. We were told there was a short wait and in under 5 minutes we were seated.
We had salt & vinegar wings, thai wings, po boy and a couple drinks. Food was very tasty, drinks were good and the staff and owners were friendly and efficient. Everything we wanted as we were looking for somewhere to grab food and drinks around 8 on a Monday. Will be back.“
