“My daughter and I wanted some sushi for dinner and we found this nice sushi restaurant not far from our house. The selection of sushi was good and the service was great. Folks were very attentive when serving us. Prices were not bad at all. I had the rock and roll sushi and my daughter had the California rolls. We also enjoyed looking at the fishes they have in an actual pond in the restaurant. Highly recommended and we are definitely coming back.“

This Is better than many of the Japanese Hibachi restaurants I've visited. Only downside is no onion volcano (joking of course). “I was excited about a Japanese restaurant in the city of Detroit.The fried chicken and edamame were delicious, but the other robatayaki and seafood dishes had a smell, which I don't know if they were using old ingredients or transfer from the refrigerator smell, I was disappointed.They should store food properly...I was even more disappointed because their service and restaurant atmosphere was really great.“

“We had dinner at Kona last night in Tecumseh on the rooftop. We had a fantastic meal and the service was great, considering there was only one wait staff up there. He did a wonderful job. My only complaint would be the seating. They are funky looking chairs, but they’re SOOOO uncomfortable. I’m 5’6 and the seat was way too deep!! Forces you to sit perched forward, which is really uncomfortable. And the seats are so hard I actually had a very sore tailbone. Other than that it was GREAT!!!!“

“My sister and I had a 5pm reservation but the people at our table were taking quite a while to leave. The Manager and Madison our waitress were so very kind. They had us sit at the juice bar and enjoy a free drink and appetizer while we waited. Madison took great care of us and our cook was really good. The food was so delicious. It was my birthday and I truly enjoyed the whole experience. We'll be back and definitely recommend our friends and family try this great new restaurant.“

“We came in 25 min before it was time to break our fast and the place was packed not a single table available. After explaining that we could not wait to be seated, We were accommodated and sat at the sushi bar. (Eventually sat at a table when it became available) The hostess was very understanding and even brought our water out closer to the time to break fast. The food was incredible, never disappoints! Always fresh and made well! Definitely recommend the cucumber kimchi. What a great experience!“

“Maru is a trendy restaurant with a lot of space. It was dead on a Wednesday night. I was able to find paid street parking around the corner without too much hassle. I ordered the strawberry basil lemonade mocktail and found it to be too sweet. The hibachi chicken was good but the rice was a little too salty. “Really nice folks and beautiful interesting interior. Been on my list opening 4 months ago. Ordered Pupu Platter, Chinese Scallion Pancakes, Large Chinese Veggies Soup and Chicken Egg Foo Young. Surprised when eating inside no plates or silverware. Everything brought out in to go containers that's okay. Absolutely fantastic Delicious Scallion Pancakes not found in many places. The quart of Spot packed full was good except broth zero flavor like water. Chicken Egg Foo Young nothing like ever had weird crunchy patties with very small amount of gravy. The very good Rice and a mega amount. Egg Roll spot on Wonderful. The bad absolutely worse ever Pupu Platter Chicken Wings dry, Crab Rangoon Yuk, Shrimp heavy batter couldn't taste Shrimp. Ribs just ok, Spring Rolls a winner and what they call Teriyaki Beef I know as Balamaki was great. I'm willing to give them another chance to change my 3 star rating. Great effort by cook just not up to par with dozen other Chinese restaurants in the area.“
