The atmosphere was very inviting, busy yet flowing with a full dining room. Our waiter Andreu was very welcoming asking us if we were there for a special occasion. With our anniversary he provided us each with a glass of champagne! He explained the dinner specials and even brought us a taste of one of the appetizers called Fiocchi Rapers – filled pasta with cheese and pear, with crispy prosciutto and creamy truffle sauce. So delicious! We decided on 2 entrees, the Lasagna Bolognese, and the Crab Ravioli. Absolutely, hands down, some of the best pasta dishes we’ve ever eaten!”

Our server took the time to explain recommendations and confirm any cheese preferences since we ordered a cheeseboard and a salad with cheese. Unfortunately, I had an accident and had to leave because I couldn’t even keep water down. I was mortified. But they made me feel human and invited me to come back when I feel better. The atmosphere was like being in my Nana's home. Sure, it's tight on space, but so was Nana's kitchen. And it was packed on a Monday night, a generally slow night for restaurants. Our server, Tomas was a pleasure to work with. Attentive, but not bothersome. He offered suggestions without pressure that we felt at another Italian restaurant nearby. We shared an excellent Caesar salad with anchovies to start. So good! Next, I ordered the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese, which was heavenly. My husband had Pappardelle Al Ragú Di Agnello, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't get to taste it because I wouldn't share mine. Fair is fair, I suppose. Tomas paired our meal with a wonderful Primitivo Puglia that was perfect. Then he suggested dessert, and although I was stuffed, we shared a cannoli. It was delicious also, but I really didn't need it. The surprise limoncello, on the house, was a perfect ending to a perfect meal! An aside? Watching the pasta being made in the front window was a bonus. I learned some things I'll use at home!”

“I am having a 4 day stay in Mid Miami and Piola is absolutely the freshest Modern Italian Restaurant!I went for 3 lunches and 2 dinners with amazing service each time. Gloriana being one of them was so attentive and professional even going outside the box to give my son the best experience.This place is not part of the Hampton Inn, totally seperate and deserves attention from many with a lavish taste but not the large price tag.Everything is so fresh, my favorite being the guacamole with delicious breadsticks.I give this place 5 stars in all areas! “I just flew in checked in to my hotel and wanted to have something to eat close to my hotel. I was famished. I ordered the angus beef burger and it was by far the best burger I’ve had. It was huge and came with a ton of fries. The service was quick and the gentleman helping us was super friendly.”

It’s not uncommon to spot celebrities and other high-profile figures frequenting the Bal Harbour shops.Over the years, we have had the pleasure of dining at several restaurants in this area. On this occasion, we chose to visit this French-Mediterranean establishment for dinner. We opted to sit on the patio, despite the interior of the restaurant being quite beautiful. The outdoor seating offered a cozy ambiance with views of palm trees.The restaurant boasted a wide selection of oysters and caviars. However, we decided on sauteed foie gras, and onion soup gratinee for our appetizers. The foie gras, although small in portion, was delectable, especially when paired with marmalade. The french onion soup was also superb.For our main course, we ordered steak frites, grilled salmon, duck l’orange, and butter noodles for our grandson. The butter noodles, which were essentially spaghetti, were served in a small portion and were quite buttery, which our grandson did not particularly enjoy. The orange duck, on the other hand, was quite flavorful. The steak frites and grilled salmon with citrus tabbouleh were also very tasty.For dessert, we indulged in vanilla bean creme brulee and profiteroles with ice cream. As someone who is well-acquainted with the authentic taste of creme brulee, I must say, this creme brulee was genuinely true to its original flavor. Profiteroles were also delightful, but they were a bit heavy for me.Another noteworthy aspect of our dining experience was the availability of mosquito repellent upon request. “Faux-makase! (Fake omakase) is exactly what it is. Self proclaimed “non traditional omakase.” Also know as slow-makase. Nossa deserves a noose-a. I was recommended this restaurant by my hotel concierge. Had a horrible experience here. Should have known since they require pre-payment online via tock which actually codes as professional services and not a restaurant so they avoid the credit card fees. By the way, they will ask you to pay a ridiculous and mandatory 20% service charge plus tax after your “meal.” After payment, you will receive an email which says “The day of your reservation you will receive an email with instructions to access to the speakeasy bar.” However, I never received any email. I put nossa into google and it took me to the filthy, run down Hyatt centric hotel. I went inside and asked where the restaurant was and they took me through a stinky alley next to the hotel trash room said to knock the door. This made me extremely uncomfortable and almost decided to just leave. Little did I know the horror I was about to experience. I knocked the door and a lady asked for the password so I gave my last name on the reservation. She didn’t open and kept asking for a password. I demanded she open the door and gave my last name on the reservation. She said I should have received instructions on a paper from another restaurant on the other side of the street which I was not informed of. She said I was late and that they already started so she showed me to my seat. The room felt like a sewer with too many people crammed around a dirty scratched up bar. I was in group 11 which means there were at least 20 guests there. The music was horrendous and unbearable. The ambiance was very creepy. The staff smelled really bad. I was offered a welcome drink which I opted for a sparking water which was not sparking at all as it was flat without bubbles so they brought me a bottle instead. They didn’t ask about any allergies and handed me the first course which I had to spit out because it contained alcohol which I don’t drink. The chef kept inaudibly shouting out the descriptions of the dishes for each course towards different corners of the room in an attempt for everyone to hear but you only hear and understand the words which were said in your direction. All the ingredients were old and not fresh. The food did not taste good. The portions were tiny so don’t think you’ll be full when you leave here by any means. The place is extremely unsanitary. The chef even wipes your plates using the same towel as the previous groups one after another. I was absolutely disgusted. Finally the last course came and again I was served alcohol without being told what it was. Luckily the chef caught it before I could drink it and replaced it with iced tea. I asked if we’re were finished and she said yes. The experience was a complete waste of time so we were happy to walk out and leave. The lady chased us on our way out and said there was an additional payment to be made for gratuity and tax. I asked if this was mandatory and she answered yes. Mind you this was never communicated before. She also said she didn’t have a wireless credit card machine so I gave her my physical card to go swipe and come back. The chef came out, handed me my receipt and credit card then asked: “Is there a reason why you’re unhappy.” I answered: Yes, I didn’t enjoy the experience. He shrugged his shoulders and replied: “I’m sorry but unfortunately not everybody does, I guess” I was shocked and just stormed out. Exit left next to the trash room, literally.”

We weren’t that hungry so we ordered the Caesar Salad and the Cuban sampler to share. The portions were more than generous and the food was absolutely delicious. I 100% recommend the Cuban Sampler - the pork bites were extremely tender and had tremendous flavor and the yuca fries were also very delicious. The tostones were a little greasy for me but still tasted fine and had good texture. The Caesar salad came on a huge plate and in my opinion was large enough to feed 3-4 people. Laturo our server was excellent and very personable. He joked around with us and was very accommodating to the requests we made. All the other staff were great to and took pictures of us when we requested. My only complaints are minor: the price of cocktails (essentially $20 each for what is basically a rail drink - but it’s a popular restaurant at the beach so I guess that’s pretty normal) and the fact that they add 20% tip without mentioning it (it is printed on the menu and I can understand that, but would have been nice to be told upfront just in case). Even with that small amount of criticism, we bth truly enjoyed the experience, the atmosphere and the the food. 11 out of 10. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the beach who wants to get a nice well made meal!”
