Take a look at our favorite Andover Mexican restaurants.
“Great food! My family enjoyed the food, and the service was great. Will definitely visit again.Parking: Parking was available and free.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly environment and my kidsWheelchair accessibility: Accessible to wheelchairs“
“Omg, a Taco Bell in Andover. I've lived here forever and thought...why the heck do we need a fast food place on 7th Ave? But, I was up at the Rum River with my dog and wanted a quick snack. Didn't want McDonald's nor make the drive down to Wendy's. Great location. I had a chicken chalupa with hot sauce. It was fresh and actually quite good. Plenty of help and courteous as well. Will definitely go there again.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space.“
“Plump tacos filled with protein. Yes they are pricey but tacos are expensive everywhere now! These are filled to the brim with meat so you need a fork to clean up. Staff was excellent bringing the food out fast and getting an extra quesadilla to go.“
“I have lived in this area for a long time and seen countless restaurants try and fail to make this building work and it for a while was generally regarded to be a cursed location.I moved away 3 years ago but was diving by and noticed it wasn't the old BBQ place (which was half decent). Stopped in and picked up some tamales to go (pollo verde and birria). They had some ready right by the door so it was easy in/out. Reheated great and really hit the spot.I think I'll be going out of my way to come back here.“
“We tried this place for the first time tonight and were impressed! We tried asada burritos, chips and queso, and elote. The food was delicious and there was lots of it! The owners were so friendly, kind, and accommodating. We will definitely be back!“
“My hubby and I have been looking for a great quality Mexican restaurant ever since Monterrey closed years ago. Nothing has lived up to our expectations… Well, I think we have finally found a winner! Excellent food, service and margaritas. Highly recommend!“
“Food was really good, it was like eating something homemade. Their medium salsa was so good. Very friendly and good customer service. I will be back! They also have a rewards program!Parking: It's in a little strip mall so easy ti find parking.“
“Wow...what an IMPRESSIVE dining experience! It's been a long time since we have enjoyed a night out so much. Food 'Molcajete Mexicano' was packed full of flavor and Jorge (bar tender) who waited on us was EXCEPTIONALLY kind; made us feel more like family vs patrons. And the margarita 'Texas Jumbo' was super delish! All of the staff we encountered were incredibly gracious and prompt to respond to any request. We will be back! Bravo El Loro!“
“Truck is over by Lowes. Food is excellent! Large portions. My favorite was the Quesabirria tacos with consome. I even made myself some Birria ramen the next day with the left over consome ? it was a bit spicy but worth it. Omg and the al pastor tacos are also a must have - with pineapple. Highly recommend!Wheelchair accessibility: In a parking lot so it's accessible but the window might be a bit high.“
“Went to try the birria tacos. Our group decided to share a few items for more variety. Had never had pupusas, we tried three flavors. Birria tacos were amazing. Pupusa were also very good, liked adding the slaw and sauce for more depth. The flautas were huge servings. Beans were the best I’ve had in the cities. Tasted just like my friends moms beans from Mexico. Ended the evening with the churro which were also incredible. Fresh with a hot sweet center. Great prices, very clean and inviting sit down restaurant and couldn’t beat the service. Beautiful back drop for photos at the front. Can’t wait to come back.“
“The food was great!! The service and atmosphere were great! We had the chimichanga & tacito combo and a supremo burrito; everything was super tasty!! We also had the Texas Margarita - amazing! Our new favorite margarita!! We're excited to try other dishes - we'll definitely be back!“
“This place looks like your typical Latin American restaurant, but it's secretly better!First of all, the staff are incredible! This is likely because it's a family-owned and operated restaurant rather than a chain. For example, one time they accidentally made too many margaritas, so we got some free drinks without even asking!Secondly, the menu here is more diverse than your typical Latin American restaurant. For example, this is the first time I've had a whole grilled Tilapia (the Mojarra Frita) since I was in Guatemala, and it was fantastic! The dish may look intimidating/unsightly to the average American, but trust me, it's delicious!Third, the prices are reasonable. The only "downside" is that the restaurant ambiance/atmosphere is just average, which really isn't that big of a downside.Parking: Large, free parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking available.“
“Met up with friends for a quick dinner and drinks. Everything was delicious. The service was great. We were served by Carlos. He’s very friendly and energetic. You can tell he cares about what he does. We will definitely be coming back for our girls’ nights.“
“This place went over looked by me for years and for that shame on me! It feels like it's in an odd place for a restaurant, but the food and service definitely make up for it! The service is always prompt and super friendly and your food comes out in a very timely manner always tasting amazing! We've done take out and delivery with this place as well, because sometimes you just need that home-cooked Mexican meal but you don't want to go out in the cold!“
“The food is amazing. We eat here whenever we can or want Mexican food best Mexican food around. if you call ahead, make sure you are calling the correct location. This one is located off of 65 in the gas station. I believe it’s considered ham Lake.“
“I ordered online, something called Zing, which told me my order hadn't been started yet, but I went inside to check and it was ready to go. Apparently the "no loitering" sign is there for a good reason; sadly, there are people who want to hang out here asking for cash.Food was solid. Well prepared and packaged. I ordered pork alambres, it was heavy on the cheese, no pineapple, portion was okay for the price, protein was light. I've had better elsewhere for this particular item.“
“Amazing food. The best Fried fish, rice beans with salad ?. Enchiladas are delicious and fajitas are just so watering. The place is so clean and best people work here. Very polite and friendly customer service.Parking: Nice clean lot on both sides of the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Yes!They have a kids menu.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.Outdoor seating in the summer and separate restaurants bar and family restaurant.“
“Our new favorite authentic place to eat. The lengua is the best I've had anywhere. The Torta Cubana is absolutely fantastic. They serve menudo every day! It's a huge menu, everything is made to order you can't go wrong. Vicki is amazing. My wife and her became fast friends and then all of a sudden we she invited us to her moms birthday Fiesta! Love this place!“
“The food and service was great here! We were celebrating a birthday and though they do not sing to you there normally, our waiter arranged for him and a coworker to come sing happy birthday!Drinks were good and food was better. Definitely will go back here! Highly recommend!“
“Great food, late hours and a drive thru!Vegetarian options: Multiple optionsDietary restrictions: Low-carb friendly optionsParking: Drive thru also availableWheelchair accessibility: One floor entrance with main floor seating. No stairs anywhere from parking lot to front counter to seating area. Restrooms on same floor.“
“This wonderful little neighborhood Mexican restaurant is a gem! Melt in your mouth carnitas with just a little char. Enchiladas with density and green sauce was excellent. Their guacamole was tops. Margaritas were 2 for 1s when we went and were great. My portion size was huge and a good value. Lunch tomorrow! I’ll be back again and again. Lucky to have you in Spring Lake Park!“
“What a great find! The salsa had a little heat which is a nice change from all the other Mexican places. The steak street tacos were great! My husband had the chicken burritos and he said they had good flavor and plenty of food on the plate. The menu is extensive and there was a board as we walked in with new items. Make sure to leave room for the tres leche cake! Best I've ever had, nice and moist. Our waitress was fantastic, lived her recommendations! Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.“
“This place so reminds me of home. Family owned and such a sweet staff they cook up Mexican favorites that are so delicious, so non midwestern in such a relaxed down home environment. It's like sitting in a grandmas kitchen and enjoying family favorites, in this case my family loves sopes, street tacos, queso barria and unbelievable burritos. A true Mexican restaurant has red and green salsa in bottles and home made salsa to dip chips in. Drinks come in bottles and the flavors will haunt you! I am thankful it is close to where we live!!!“
“The prices here are very good and they have a good variety of options available (including ground beef tacos which most taco trucks don't have). The 3 meats I tried (steak, chorizo and ground beef) all tasted good but in my opinion, there are better options available nearby in the taste department. The super hot sauce (pictured) is amazing though. I love spicy food and this really made the tacos taste great. If the meat was better, it would have been perfect!I got 5 tacos and 2 Mexican Cokes for $21 so pretty cheap compared to other places.“
“Been to this location many times for both dine-in and takeout orders. The food is always delicious and the service is always quick & friendly. Lots of fresh ingredients to choose from and they give big portions of everything! Great flavors that all work well together, nothing over-powering. Never a long line to order but there's plenty of people dining in and taking out. This is everything you want Chipotle and other similar places to be, but way better! Check it out!“
“Excellent experience and walked in and sat down very friendly and fast service food was soo delicious and the atmosphere was awesome..will be back with family and friends soon..another note outback steak house across the street sucks..don't go “
“Fast and delicious food. Huge menu for everyone in the family. The staff are always friendly. We frequently dine at this location and leave full and happy each time.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian fajitas are fantastic! They also are super accommodating to my dairy intolerance which is hard at a Mexican restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Our kids love it there - the music, kids menu and quarter machines at the entrance for candy after dinner. And occasionally the claw machine.“
“The queso is phenomenal, burritos are huge, we had a great meal. What I really wanted to review was Jay. What a great guy! We were in for dinner with a wedding party and he personally came over to congratulate the couple and made sure we were taken care of and he also wished us all well as we left. I was really impressed by his humility, heart, and hospitality. Thanks, Jay! You made last night an excellent experience for us!Kid-friendliness: Claw machine, kids menu, and a wall length slab of chalkboard kept my kiddo entertained“
“1st time here and will definitely be back again! Ambiance was great, the booths were very comfortable, clean restaurant and the wait staff was great. And the food arrived very quickly, big portions and was delicious! The only thing that was difficult was deciding what to order as the menu had so many options, which is a good thing as a lot of restaurants have stripped the menu down in the last few years. So glad to have found this place!“
“First visit ever to this restaurant. Food was excellent, prepared perfectly as ordered. Very nice interior but could use some TLC. Service was marginal. Our server never came back to ask how our food was and for an early Saturday afternoon, the food took longer to come out than I would have expected. All in all, decent visit and would definitely come back for another meal.“
“I am a Carnitas (pork) Burrito Nacional fan for many years. I’ve been trying other entrees to expand my palate but having a pork Burrito Nacional is like coming home! Delicious pork inside! My dining pal enjoyed the giant Wet Burrito with shredded beef.“
“Nice taco pitstop in Champlin. Reasonable priced ice cold tap beers and super tasty tacos and bowls.El Pastor taco was traditional with onions and cilantro. The beef bowl was delicious with the chipotle ranch sauce topper. Service was super fast at 5pm and satisfied with a 5 minute food delivery after ordering being in a hurry. First time here and have had their food truck in the community at several locations.“
“We have been hearing about this place and finally went. Oh my oh my. The birria tacos were delicious! My 15 year old daughter ordered those and didn’t want the leftover consume to go to waste. Had to have a container to go! The tasty birria burrito did not disappoint. Everything was wonderful…even the top shelf margarita. We look forward to visiting again and again.“
