“I love the interior design, service, and food here. I also appreciate the interesting menu selections, which offer more variety than other spots in St Louis Park. This is a great place for a date, a girls' brunch, or even a corporate meeting. My mom use to order the duck sandwich, which unfortunately is not on the menu anymore. She tried the Kimchi bowl instead and enjoyed it. My favorite is the chicken Mediterranean wrap—the chicken is such great quality, and they're really generous with the portion size! I also recommend the ratatouille, chicken wings, chicken apple sandwich, fresh espresso martini, and hummus platter.“

From the second you walk in, it's got that laid-back Cali beach vibe that makes you feel like you're on vacation (minus the plane ticket). The food? Next level. The grilled fish tacos are unreal, the Brussels sprouts are shockingly addictive, and the margaritas... let's just say they don't mess around. Every dish tastes super fresh (no freezer/microwave here) and comes out looking like it belongs on Instagram. The vibe is what seals the deal, though. It's fun, relaxed, and perfect for pretty much anything—date night, happy hour with friends, or a random Tuesday when you don't feel like cooking. The staff is always super friendly and makes you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time. And if you ever need catering or a spot for a group event, they've got you covered there too. “Often, lovely food cooked simply can be the best. That was my experience at Chilango. Fish tacos with a side of charred peppers and onions plus a side of red rice. Staff are trying really hard. Give ‘em a chance.

“We stopped here on December 24th looking for fresh lutefisk and were pleased to find we could buy a 5lb filet. The lutefisk was amazing I was told and in the future we will be sure to call ahead and place the order. The manager was running back and forth with several options before we decided to just buy the 5lb filet. I can say I was amazed, they cooked it in the oven and when I returned that evening I could hardly smell anything other than the usual air fresheners we have in the house.

So thanks again for helping keep a Christmas tradition alive and hope the girls hockey team does great.“

“First visit in years and since restaurant reopened. We all enjoyed our meals. My wife, always very particular on the food she receives, did not have a single complaint - amazing - this would have to be at least a 4-star+ rating from her. \n\nI had promised to order scallops the next time out and there they were! Six bacon wrapped sea scallops, served with a delicious crisp lettuce salad. The salad was dressed with a tasty Italian dressing. I had been craving scallops for many months and was very pleased with Red Lobster's offering! The scallops were lightly seared, cooked through and not translucent, slightly sweet, and no fishy taste - excellent! Each was wrapped with tasty thinly sliced bacon with crisp edges but not over cooked, also. very good. Ordered a side of clam chowder and was told "Manhattan Style" was available. I received New England Style but did not complain because it was thick, creamy, hot and had a good quantity of potato and clam pieces. Best I've had since last trip to Clearwater Florida. I'm not sure the waiter knew the difference between the two kinds of chowders. None-the-less, a satisfying chowder! Almost forgot - great biscuits.\n\nGood, pleasant waiter and service. “We stumbled upon "Barwaqo" as it's now called when we were headed to the Electric Fetus for a book signing event; apparently this place changed hands about a month ago (Oct 2023) so previous reviews under the old Cala name are not relevant. We felt very welcomed by the owner and staff, and had an amazing dinner of Somali chicken and rice, sambusa, and the spinach dish which game with roasted goat and a fava bean soup with glutinous rice cakes. Everything was fresh and delicious and obviously made with a lot of care, and all of the food we got only came to about $45. We were thrilled to have randomly taken a chance on an unknown place and we will go back in the future. When we talked to the owner outside afterwards, I asked one of the staff what "barwaqo" means in Somali and he said "gift" but when I looked it up, it means "prosperity." Take a chance on this place at the corner of Clinton/Franklin instead of the Wendy's across the street!“

We got food that was awesome and the gentleman taking our order was very awesome and helpful and the place was very clean and very comfortable! Best wings and cat fish I've had for a long time! Wish my youngests food came out at the same time as the other 4 of us (his came out 10 minutes later and he’s 2) but portions were so big we had enough of our food to share as he didn’t eat his when it finally came. “I’m so happy Deluxe Plaza went with this food vendor and they were able to move in and take over. This restaurant is my daily go to for employee group food and daily lunch. Reasonably priced and amazing service. Each employee like Ahmed greets you with kindness and care while serving great food. I recommend it to everyone.“
