They have all the best condiments and ingredient pairings with the fish as well, so you can come and one stop shop. Great selection of tinned fish, sauces, and some unusual seafood items like squid ink (frozen). Everyone who works here is kind, knowledgeable, and fun.“

The dishes come out delicious every time. It makes dining incredibly easy when I know I can choose anything on the menu and it will be great. The service is also incredible. Knowledgeable, prompt, and friendly staff. The dining and bar areas are equally beautiful in distinctive ways. Very pleasing to the eye. Zelo is a must try downtown, and if you do, it will become one of your go to restaurants for a nice night out.“

“Someone at The Capital Grille must have read Will Guidara’s Unreasonable Hospitality, because this experience was such a perfect example of what it means to make people feel genuinely special.

In casual conversation, we mentioned that we were headed to a show at the Orpheum that evening and that we had gotten married three weeks earlier. That was it. We weren’t there celebrating our wedding or expecting any special recognition.

But they listened.

Before we knew it, little confetti hearts appeared on our table, and later they surprised us with a complimentary dessert, beautifully arranged on a tray to acknowledge our recent marriage.

They were small gestures, but that’s exactly what made them so meaningful. They noticed something personal, remembered it, and found a way to turn an ordinary dinner before a show into an experience that felt uniquely ours.

The food was fantastic, but what we’ll remember most is how they made us feel. Thoughtful, unexpected, personal hospitality like this is rare, and The Capital Grille absolutely nailed it.“

“We stopped here on December 24th looking for fresh lutefisk and were pleased to find we could buy a 5lb filet. The lutefisk was amazing I was told and in the future we will be sure to call ahead and place the order. The manager was running back and forth with several options before we decided to just buy the 5lb filet. I can say I was amazed, they cooked it in the oven and when I returned that evening I could hardly smell anything other than the usual air fresheners we have in the house.

So thanks again for helping keep a Christmas tradition alive and hope the girls hockey team does great.“

“The cashier was really friendly. I asked about the juices and which would be the sweetest and he let me try it first. Ended up loving it. The food was amazing ! “We stumbled upon "Barwaqo" as it's now called when we were headed to the Electric Fetus for a book signing event; apparently this place changed hands about a month ago (Oct 2023) so previous reviews under the old Cala name are not relevant. We felt very welcomed by the owner and staff, and had an amazing dinner of Somali chicken and rice, sambusa, and the spinach dish which game with roasted goat and a fava bean soup with glutinous rice cakes. Everything was fresh and delicious and obviously made with a lot of care, and all of the food we got only came to about $45. We were thrilled to have randomly taken a chance on an unknown place and we will go back in the future. When we talked to the owner outside afterwards, I asked one of the staff what "barwaqo" means in Somali and he said "gift" but when I looked it up, it means "prosperity." Take a chance on this place at the corner of Clinton/Franklin instead of the Wendy's across the street!“

“The other week, I was in the northern metro suburbs and started to get hungry. I drove past Sarna's Grill in Columbia Heights and, judging by the building's welcoming appearance, decided to park and give it a try (though I know that doesn't necessarily mean the food or service will be good).\n\nThat said, my decision was bolstered by the spacious, inviting interior, wide aisles, booths filled with couples and families, and the waitstaff delivering trays of appetizing food.\n\nA friendly waitperson greeted me at my table and offered me a menu with a variety of options, from burgers and salads to complete meals, including pasta and hot turkey or beef.\n\nI chose the BLT on artisan whole wheat with a side of coleslaw. It looked so tempting that I took a bite of half the sandwich before realizing I hadn't taken a picture of the food. What you see in the attached image is the mouth-watering inside of the delicious BLT.\n\nAs it turned out, I had an hour to kill. After finishing my meal, I asked if I could hang out for a while. The friendly waitperson said I could stay as long as I wanted and brought me a cup of coffee to pass the time.\n\nThat kindness made my day and earned her a nice tip. Plus, I promised to return the next time I'm in the neighborhood.“

“Our service from Naomi was impeccable. She was very nice and attentive. The chicken wings were crispy outside and tender inside, just how I like them. The wild mushroom and spinach ravioli was delicious. The ribeye steak was very flavorful. Even the French fries were super tasty, crispy outside and tender inside. We had one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time.“
