“The other week, I was in the northern metro suburbs and started to get hungry. I drove past Sarna's Grill in Columbia Heights and, judging by the building's welcoming appearance, decided to park and give it a try (though I know that doesn't necessarily mean the food or service will be good).\n\nThat said, my decision was bolstered by the spacious, inviting interior, wide aisles, booths filled with couples and families, and the waitstaff delivering trays of appetizing food.\n\nA friendly waitperson greeted me at my table and offered me a menu with a variety of options, from burgers and salads to complete meals, including pasta and hot turkey or beef.\n\nI chose the BLT on artisan whole wheat with a side of coleslaw. It looked so tempting that I took a bite of half the sandwich before realizing I hadn't taken a picture of the food. What you see in the attached image is the mouth-watering inside of the delicious BLT.\n\nAs it turned out, I had an hour to kill. After finishing my meal, I asked if I could hang out for a while. The friendly waitperson said I could stay as long as I wanted and brought me a cup of coffee to pass the time.\n\nThat kindness made my day and earned her a nice tip. Plus, I promised to return the next time I'm in the neighborhood.“

“First, I have never eaten Filipino food before. I read their website and saw it was sweet and savory instead of spicy, which is perfect. I am not a spicy girl. When I arrived with my mother, we were immediately greeted by the owner. She took our orders and then we sat down. A few minutes later, her husband stopped by with our drink (halo halo) and explained how to stir it to blend all the flavors together.
Overall, it was a wonderful, friendly experience. The food was phenomenal and reasonably priced, the restaurant was decorated superbly, and the owners were amazing. I definitely plan on returning in the future.“

“Great seafood boil!!! I’ve been to a couple in the city and I think this might be the best one yet. The seafood is fresh, the sauce is well seasoned and I thought the price was pretty good for the variety of seafood you get. Just a heads up; there are 3 levels of spicy, we got the 1st level and it was pretty spicy so maybe get something less spicy if you do not have a good spice tolerance.

“One hell of a lobster roll. A bit pricey but left me full and happy. Jonathan was great behind the bar and was super friendly even though I think I was one of the first /only people to sit down inside. I was there around 11:30 / noon so I’m sure the evening brings around a much more lively atmosphere.“

“Awesome seafood shop. I guess it's probably pricey but I grew up near the coast so I'm probably used to cheaper prices anyway. Everything is quality and clearly curated very meticulously with a lot of passion for food. They have some pretty cool luxury items like otoro and King Crab.

The kitchen is the back has one of the best burgers in the cities. I can't speak for any of the other dishes because I always get the burger anyway.“

“The meals are consistently fantastic. I’ve never had a bad meal at this restaurant over the last few years. The ingredients are high quality, fresh, and well prepared. The dishes come out delicious every time. It makes dining incredibly easy when I know I can choose anything on the menu and it will be great. The service is also incredible. Knowledgeable, prompt, and friendly staff. The dining and bar areas are equally beautiful in distinctive ways. Very pleasing to the eye. Zelo is a must try downtown, and if you do, it will become one of your go to restaurants for a nice night out.“

“Great experience tonight! It was my first time visiting. Robert was SO great! I’ve been wanting to come here for a while. Robert took great care of us. Food and drink suggestions were perfect and he answered any and all questions we had. Very attentive. The manager also stopped by and greeted us. Food was fresh and delicious! “I tried Trieu Chau for the first time today I had the Bahn Mi. Absolutely fantastic the best bread ever and grilled pork!!! super fresh ingredients. I can’t wait to come back. I live about an hour and a half north of Duluth. If they brought this type of food up by us, they’d be a millionaire overnight nobody is making quality Vietnamese food.!!!!!!!!“

“We had a terrific meal at the Capital Grille, made special by our waiter Ryan who was extremely personable and well versed in the menu. The atmosphere was classic upscale and well maintained. The food was impressive. We ordered tenderloin with lobster, fillet mignon Oscar style, and the famous au gratin potatoes. Before the main course we were delighted with an array of breads and a delicious amuse-bouche. We skipped salad to keep room for dessert, which was in our opinion a smart play because the cheesecake and crème brûlée was a marvelous way to cap our evening. Highly recommend the Capital Grille. Ask for Ryan if you happen to visit.“

“We stopped here on December 24th looking for fresh lutefisk and were pleased to find we could buy a 5lb filet. The lutefisk was amazing I was told and in the future we will be sure to call ahead and place the order. The manager was running back and forth with several options before we decided to just buy the 5lb filet. I can say I was amazed, they cooked it in the oven and when I returned that evening I could hardly smell anything other than the usual air fresheners we have in the house.

So thanks again for helping keep a Christmas tradition alive and hope the girls hockey team does great.“

“We stumbled upon "Barwaqo" as it's now called when we were headed to the Electric Fetus for a book signing event; apparently this place changed hands about a month ago (Oct 2023) so previous reviews under the old Cala name are not relevant. We felt very welcomed by the owner and staff, and had an amazing dinner of Somali chicken and rice, sambusa, and the spinach dish which game with roasted goat and a fava bean soup with glutinous rice cakes. Everything was fresh and delicious and obviously made with a lot of care, and all of the food we got only came to about $45. We were thrilled to have randomly taken a chance on an unknown place and we will go back in the future. When we talked to the owner outside afterwards, I asked one of the staff what "barwaqo" means in Somali and he said "gift" but when I looked it up, it means "prosperity." Take a chance on this place at the corner of Clinton/Franklin instead of the Wendy's across the street!“

“We always enjoy coming to Ruth's Chris because the service and food is always exceptional. It is relaxing and tables are spaced well so one isn't part of their neighbor's conversation. Last night, however, the music was too loud and the selections were the opposite of mellow or ‘chill', so that did take away a bit from the dining experience. Appreciate when the music is instrumental and truly in the background. We do look forward to our next visit!“

“I love the interior design, service, and food here. I also appreciate the interesting menu selections, which offer more variety than other spots in St Louis Park. This is a great place for a date, a girls' brunch, or even a corporate meeting. My mom use to order the duck sandwich, which unfortunately is not on the menu anymore. She tried the Kimchi bowl instead and enjoyed it. My favorite is the chicken Mediterranean wrap—the chicken is such great quality, and they're really generous with the portion size! I also recommend the ratatouille, chicken wings, chicken apple sandwich, fresh espresso martini, and hummus platter.“
