“I have only heard about this place due to the club that opens there at 10, and decided to try the dinner menu with my mom. I was not disappointed! We both got a beverage, appetizer and an entree. “Recipes created by the original owner passed down to the daughter who is catering to all the patrons with a smile. It makes our visit very welcoming and she goes above and beyond by answering all quest we have. We had a combo appetizer and a beef with coconut flavor. They have my favorite siswi only on Saturdays. Very tasty and definitely will come again and try the other options on the menu.“

“We stopped here on December 24th looking for fresh lutefisk and were pleased to find we could buy a 5lb filet. The lutefisk was amazing I was told and in the future we will be sure to call ahead and place the order. The manager was running back and forth with several options before we decided to just buy the 5lb filet. I can say I was amazed, they cooked it in the oven and when I returned that evening I could hardly smell anything other than the usual air fresheners we have in the house.

So thanks again for helping keep a Christmas tradition alive and hope the girls hockey team does great.“

“We stumbled upon "Barwaqo" as it's now called when we were headed to the Electric Fetus for a book signing event; apparently this place changed hands about a month ago (Oct 2023) so previous reviews under the old Cala name are not relevant. We felt very welcomed by the owner and staff, and had an amazing dinner of Somali chicken and rice, sambusa, and the spinach dish which game with roasted goat and a fava bean soup with glutinous rice cakes. Everything was fresh and delicious and obviously made with a lot of care, and all of the food we got only came to about $45. We were thrilled to have randomly taken a chance on an unknown place and we will go back in the future. When we talked to the owner outside afterwards, I asked one of the staff what "barwaqo" means in Somali and he said "gift" but when I looked it up, it means "prosperity." Take a chance on this place at the corner of Clinton/Franklin instead of the Wendy's across the street!“

The staff are SO kind, love to yap with you about fish, and even struck up a conversation with my 6 year old about clams and flamingos. I'll pick this place every time.“

“The meals are consistently fantastic. I’ve never had a bad meal at this restaurant over the last few years. The ingredients are high quality, fresh, and well prepared. The dishes come out delicious every time. It makes dining incredibly easy when I know I can choose anything on the menu and it will be great. The service is also incredible. Knowledgeable, prompt, and friendly staff. The dining and bar areas are equally beautiful in distinctive ways. Very pleasing to the eye. Zelo is a must try downtown, and if you do, it will become one of your go to restaurants for a nice night out.“

I would recommend any of the aged beef selections for great taste and tenderness. The Caesar salad with anchovies was excellent. Asparagus too! We even noticed a clean and cozy bar and dining space with large TV monitor for viewing sports. Overall this fine dining place is top shelf complete with white table cloth. And nearby indoor parking was a breeze. Thank you again for a very nice dining experience. ♥️ this place!“

“Tried for the 1st time today and it was tasty. Purchased the cod, catfish fillets, curds, fries and juices they offer and it was overall good. Pricing wasn't bad for what we ordered and everything was fried fresh and was still hot after a 15 minute ride home. Will definitely be back to try some of the other foods they offer.“

“Wow! What a dining experience! Last Saturday, one of my best friends, Jeanne, and I decided to have our first dinner out for the year at Ruth's Chris in Minneapolis. That was excellent decision. General Manager Gena and her team know hospitality and excellent food. From smiles of welcome from Karyma and hosting team as we walked in the door, to excellent service from our server Jason. Gena stopped by for a short visit, as did long-time server Scott, and service with a smile from Walter, who made sure our settings were cleared quickly to make way for the next course timed out just right by Jason. The lamb chops were done perfectly, and the sea bass melts in your mouth like butter. I've never ordered at a restaurant, but Gena dared us. It was one of the best chicken dishes either of us has had. And, if you think you've had bread pudding before, try it here! Chased with a delicious 20-Year tawny port, it's the perfect way to end a delicious dining event. Give RC a try - you won't regret it.“

“The other week, I was in the northern metro suburbs and started to get hungry. I drove past Sarna's Grill in Columbia Heights and, judging by the building's welcoming appearance, decided to park and give it a try (though I know that doesn't necessarily mean the food or service will be good).\n\nThat said, my decision was bolstered by the spacious, inviting interior, wide aisles, booths filled with couples and families, and the waitstaff delivering trays of appetizing food.\n\nA friendly waitperson greeted me at my table and offered me a menu with a variety of options, from burgers and salads to complete meals, including pasta and hot turkey or beef.\n\nI chose the BLT on artisan whole wheat with a side of coleslaw. It looked so tempting that I took a bite of half the sandwich before realizing I hadn't taken a picture of the food. What you see in the attached image is the mouth-watering inside of the delicious BLT.\n\nAs it turned out, I had an hour to kill. After finishing my meal, I asked if I could hang out for a while. The friendly waitperson said I could stay as long as I wanted and brought me a cup of coffee to pass the time.\n\nThat kindness made my day and earned her a nice tip. Plus, I promised to return the next time I'm in the neighborhood.“

“On top of having great service the food was amazing. I had half a dozen Oysters, they were delicious and the King Crab leg with there ranch and cheese mashed potatoes. It was a lot of food but the best I’ve had. I’d say they were as good as or better than the Oceanaire downtown Minneapolis. Bill was $180 before the tip.“
