“Such an amazing time here. My fiancé and I stopped in after suit shopping and it was the best part of the night. I felt like we were tucked back into a secret part of the city, hiding away for a great bite to eat. The menu is limited which is perfect for me, but also means they have worked to one the dishes on it. We split a burger after having the brussle sprouts and poutine. This was an amazing combo and the portions were generous! I would come here again and again, not for just the food but the service as well. We had made a reservation for a later time, but got there earlier. They were able to get us sat in Lora’s section. Lora was truly amazing and made the dinner that much better. Here recommendations were amazing and she was just so kind. Great conversation and truly made the dinner the much better.“

We had a friend with who had open heart surgery and artificial knees. your toilets are not even standard height. more like a squatty potty. She had to rock to try to stand up, you have no safety bars or handicapped toilets!!!“

Their fried pickle chips are awesome, wings great even sauceless (got dipping sauces on side), walleye fries were great, the only thing we were so so on were the nachos. “We came here with the promise of some great Coneys, and we were not disappointed. Yeah the place is a bit of a dive, but that definitely adds to the charm. The apps we had (fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks) were delicious, but those Coneys... OH MY GOD!!! Absolutely delicious! I had 2 but I could've easily downed 2 more. So good, and what was especially impressive that every one of the 5 total that we had looked exactly the same. The consistency of the cook is often overlooked at other places, but not here. Top notch! Also, our bartender Jade (sp?) was super friendly and always on top of anything we needed. Very funny too. A little bit of humorous commentary made for an even better experience.

As I said, the Coneys are to die for, but I would also recommend the Reuben egg roll. I got one after I was finished with the dogs, and it was absolutely amazing!

Gopher Bar is definitely the place to check out if you are a Coney Dog fan. And if you're not, there's plenty of other options to try that all looked incredible when I scanned the menu. Also, and this is yet another reason to choose The Gopher, the prices are very cheap. I wouldn't have expected to get full for under $20 anywhere these days, but they certainly did it! I'm actually getting hungry again just typing this! 😅

They keep their old tradition as cash only, which the bartender explained, even though card option would’ve been nice since the atm and my bank both will charge fees withdrawing cash. Found out the hard way, but you have the option to leave if you don’t like it , no one is forcing you stay. bartender is a nice guy and made me feel welcome.“

“When I eat I drink Bloody Mary's they just taste better with my food if I feel like a drink, let me tell you I had a very reasonable priced Bloody Mary and it was on Point I could taste everything in the drink a first for me and it had all the fixings as well, I appreciated that. They also have a place too eat Pop's and Son grill I ordered 4 wings and a brisket topped Baked potato I asked for my wings hard didn't get that but they tasted ok and the brisket was not a lot but also good I didn't bring my wings back because they seemed real busy they brought me someone else's food at first them my order and I appreciated Who I assume was Pop came and talked to his customer's checking on them and their food they gave us A 1 service I work in kitchen's and understand things happen sometimes it's how you react to the situation and after that matters the most and they gave the all. I will try them again because they food is good, and they fact they was busy, busy so that let me know a lil sum People like they food I was also asking people in the line about food and if they been here before and I got more yes than no and good food I heard ok Pop and Sons I'll be back..the bar also had karaoke A good time was had Thanks Cheers“

“This is a classic St. Paul bar. Don't expect anything fancy, but what it lacks in poshness it makes up in charm. The bartenders are very nice. The patrons are mostly regulars and are down to earth and friendly. If you want to just have a drink at a good price this is the spot. Oh and if you are worried about this place not being accepting and safe, I was here to watch my lesbian sister perform her music and was with my best friend who is a drag queen. My sister is one of the regulars here and her and her wife love it.“

Slow night, which was much more my vibe. Very clean establishment on my visit. Definitely preferable to the 617 bar. Don't go there. Come here instead. WB Bar has more space, they have pool tables, AND the beautiful bartender is far more polite to those who are new and aren't looking to be treated like an out of towner when they are in fact more local than some of these other snobs! 🤓☮️“
