“The atmosphere was lovely! Dark inside, the scent of the bar was wonderful. It smelled of incense and a cologne type room spray. My boyfriend and I went for our three year anniversary. The drinks were very lovely, though they did take a while. It was our first time at a cocktail bar so we were patient with the fact that the kind of drinks we had would take a while + the other guests also ordering. Our last drink order was forgotten which was a bit annoying, but it happens and wasn't a deal breaker. We would definitely come back to try more of their delicious cocktails and enjoy the ambience!“

“This place is a solid dive bar that takes you right back to the '70s. It's not fancy, just good drinks at great prices. The place is super relaxed, and the crowd is friendly and laid-back. It’s in the heart of downtown. This bar is an adults type place, though—wouldn't recommend bring the kids. If you're looking for a no-frills spot to grab a drink and relax, this is it. Highly recommend!“

“A absolute gem of a restaurant in White Bear Lake. In town visiting family & so enjoyed our first time here last night. Very cool & well designed with a great vibe, beautiful bar area where you can comfortably dine also. Which is aso the main diningroom with views of the kitchen & Chefs creations. Food was out of the park; 2 chicken entrees & the Walleye-and let's not forgot the delicious chocolate mousse dessert! Will always plan a dinner here we visit again.“

“Dark Horse came highly recommended from the MSP Burgers Facebook page. The burger and fries were great. The only gripe is the service was very slow when we first arrived, but I understand they were busy and our waiter had his hands full. I have seen tons of reviews on MSP Burgers and no complaints about service, so it was likely an anomaly. I definitely recommend the Dark Horse burger and the pizza also looks amazing.“

“Absolutely the worst service. This is affiliated with University Club of Saint Paul notoriously known for terrible service. No attention to detail. We were served the wrong food. The service was significantly delayed and the food was mediocre at best. Don’t spend your money here until they fix this problem.“

“I needed to kill some time before going to the the iihf World juniors hockey tournament and stopped in. I ended up spending most of my time before and after the game there. The food was excellent and Melissa the bartender made the experience wonderful. Very friendly atmosphere and the drinks are poured well and come out fast. Highly recommend to anyone going to anyone looking for a place to go before the game.“
