“Started our experience at the Crossroads’ Percheron Rooftop Bar and ended it at XR. The atmosphere was the ultimate standout, but the food and service were still good! I ordered the Shroomer Boomer, and the goat cheese herb mix on that is yum! The dining room filled up to near capacity despite it being a weeknight, and we even had a very chill celebrity sighting. A very cool spot to feel metropolitan for a day! Only cons were the pebble ice that came in my cocktail and that parking can be somewhat limited if you’re not a hotel guest.“

“The Lunch Box is a bodega with fast, friendly service and good food. I was there at lunch time and ordered onion rings and turkey club sandwich. The onion rings were homemade and would have been excellent but they were over-fried and tasted a bit burnt. The turkey club was excellent with lots of smoked turkey covered in bacon and cheese, served on toast with mayo, lettece and tomato. I will be back!“

“Spokes Management was able to host us for a holiday party which was an absolute hit for all those in attendance. The atmosphere was phenomenal. Dan and Robin were not just working behind the bar but they were all over the place helping us with anything we needed. They were incredibly personable all night. Spokes is a top notch space with amazing coffee and food. I can’t wait to go back!“

“Large book collection, free wi-fi (even in the oarking lot which is huge). This library is frequented by families with small children and toddlers, but generally the areas designated for kids are well separated from the main open floor plan, so other than when those families are arriving or departing, it's relatively quiet. The large building seems newer or recently remodeled. There are several tables with in-floor electrical receptacles (to plug in laptop or device charger, for example). I've been a few times and it was easy to read ir study because of the quiet atmosphere (ya know, like a library). There are family restrooms on the east end of the building, and a nursing room with upholstered chairs and a solid door for privacy; and 'men's and women's' restrooms on the west end. All three times I've been, it was well staffed and there are several self service kiosks. A great library just north of the Liberty shopping center area on what appears to be a historic property with manicured grounds.“

“Simply one of my favorite coffee shops to get some work done or read. The staff is always so kind, helpful and patient and the atmosphere relaxing.
Parking can sometimes be tricky depending on what time you go. I usually park behind the shop in the parking lot but you might have to park further by Consentino’s.“

“I’ve heard of Equal Minded in the past, but recently a friend hosted an event there and it was great! The space was easy to set up in, the coffee and snacks were great & the customer service. Since then, if I am in the area and I need to get work done, it’s becoming more of a place to pop into. The more I get to know about what they offer and the small businesses they support, the more I enjoy becoming a customer there. I also really like that they have some Sugar Free options & I really like their Honey Lavender Matcha too!“

“Spokes was a lifesaver during my recent trip to Kansas City. Eric and the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The cafe itself is an absolute gem. It has a comfortable, inviting atmosphere that gave me the perfect place to hang out while I waited on my hotel room to be ready. Whether you choose a cozy armchair or a spot at a spacious table, there's a perfect place to relax and get some work done. But the true stars of the show were the coffee and the food. My Americano was rich, flavorful, and brewed to perfection. Exactly what I needed to kickstart my day. And let's not forget the incredible club sandwich!By the time I was ready to check into my hotel, I felt refreshed, productive, and most importantly, welcomed. If you find yourself downtown Kansas City, do yourself a favor and head to Spokes. You won't be disappointed!“
“Such an awesome place at KCAI - great food, great service, can't be beat!“
“FANTASTIC MUSEUM! My daughter and I are both history nuts and love this place! The staff members are very knowledgeable and are so sweet! It was my first trip and I could’ve spent 2 or 3 days in here and still wouldn’t have viewed everything. The sweetest man stopped us as we were exiting and asked us if we saw the letter of the luckiest human ever. Of course we didn’t, we had overlooked it. He took us back in and showed us a letter of a soldier who entered and exited service on the same day…just hours apart. This gentleman loved his job and it showed! We will be back, time and time again!“

“We love PT’s Coffee. After the manufacturer discontinued the espresso beans I had used for years, I struggled to find a replacement. I eventually tried PT’s Coffee ...ordered as a latte, my usual drink...at one of their stores and really enjoyed the robust flavor of the Flying Monkey espresso blend.
I started buying the beans around 2021–2022 at my local Whole Foods, where a 12 oz. bag cost $11.79 ($0.98/oz.). It was a great deal. However, by about 2023, the beans became increasingly hard to find at Whole Foods. So I began going to the PT’s store at Power & Light to purchase them instead. I noticed the bags sold at PT’s locations are 2 oz. smaller and cost over $4 more per bag. Naturally, I thought: let me order in bulk online - surely that’s cheaper. But after visiting the website and subscribing, I found that the opposite was true. While the subscription saves me a few dollars, the price per ounce is still higher than what I paid at Whole Foods. Here's the math:
12 oz. bag at Whole Foods: $11.79 ($0.98/oz.)
32 oz. bag online: $44.25 ($1.38/oz.)
32 oz. bag with subscription discount: $39.83 ($1.24/oz.)
After realizing this, I reached out to PT’s directly via their website. They responded quickly and explained that they transitioned from 12 oz. to 10 oz. bags to align with their sister company, Bird Rock Coffee, and to match the size preferences of several distribution partners. They also noted that this change came with their first per-ounce price increase since 2017, and that the Whole Foods pricing was a lingering anomaly. I really appreciated their transparency and honesty...it made me want to keep doing business with them.
We no longer live in Kansas City, but I now subscribe to receive a 5 lb. bag (about every 6–8 weeks) for $89.00. The best part is that the beans are roasted the day before they’re shipped, which was never the case with the beans I bought at Whole Foods.
I only hope that any potential tariffs aren’t passed on to the customer. I’m very happy with the product and the current price point. There’s not much room for the price to increase unless there’s a corresponding increase in quality or added value.“

“A convenient lunch during our museum visit. Trench stew was very filling. There were multiple sandwich and burger options as well as a homemade soup of the day. Staff helped me with gluten free options.
Dietary restrictions: Trench stew is gluten free. They also had a gluten free cookie (Udi's I think).
Kid-friendliness: A couple kids menu options. My son had grilled cheese.“

“Popped in to assist a friend with some phone issues while they were there eating lunch. While my focus was not on eating, the food looked well prepared and spoken highly of by those eating. Did partake in a vanilla latte. Found it to be simply delightful. Their core business appears to be chocolate and based upon what I saw and heard, they have that dialed in. Well worth popping in and checking out“

“I remember hearing about this place years ago but never went. It popped up on my FYP on TikTok so I decided to give it a try. My family and I drove down on a Saturday around 12:30. Not sure where it was exactly, we ended up driving by it and having to turn around. There is only street parking available so we parked 1/2 a block up and walked down. We weren’t the only ones who did. The steady flow of people coming in and out was a lot. Good for business. They only accept cash, which is good to know beforehand. We ordered the famous pork tenderloin, a cheeseburger and fries. Everything is alacarte. Which is also good to know beforehand.
The tenderloin had good flavor but was fried very hard. My husband enjoyed his but said it was too spicy, he had the hot sauce. Overall, it was good. Glad we finally tried it.“
