“Fun local dive bar. No food but they have a few snacks for purchase, sometimes coffee cake next to the free coffee station and a popcorn machine (not always in use). Couple dart boards in the back. a gold game and a gambling card game too on the bar. Covered deck in the back. Not a lot of options for beers, but good specials and fair prices in general. They make their own moonshine, and it is DELICIOUS. Apple Pie and Peach are king (to be fair I didn't try the other 2), peach tastes like fresh peach nectar. Highly recommend.“

“I went to SideStreet last night, for my first visit. It's probably the friendliest LGBTQ+ establishment in town. All ages, sizes, shades, types, etc. I could walk up to any person or group and feel welcome.“

“Five stars because I love this bar and it’s my go-to dive bar. I will say this though because I’d never want to ruin a star rating but I feel strongly about saying that the bartender working on Memorial Day evening around 8:45 reflects the opposite of what hospitality should be. I asked for a Negroni (a three ingredient, equal part drink) and the bartender laughed and said you aren’t a cocktail bar. Of course and that’s why I love Chez, but I thought I’d ask. The bartender didn’t even look up at me, zero eye contact for me and the other two members of my party. It would’ve been so simple to kindly suggest another option or at least smile, but it felt so extremely unapproachable and unkind. I’m very familiar with the bar scene in Kansas City and frequent chez Charlie, but was disappointed in the complete lack of warmth or friendliness. Genuinely impacted my night in a negative way and that just stinks! Let’s just be nice to one another.“

“Not exactly what I was expecting. For some reason I thought it was a cocktail lounge. Nope lol. It’s a dive bar. But it was a fun time. We ordered from the bar, drinks were fine and came quickly. We played pool. There are tons of signatures and messages all over the walls. Kinda fun. It’s also cash only. If you like the divy kind of feel, this is a good option close to P&L“
