“I used to work for stables. And I am proud to say that. Manager, Linda Clark, and manager Morgan Ward are one of the best managers you’ll find. Unfortunately I quit due to me going to college. If I wasn’t going to college, you bet I would stay there. I believe that there’s not many restaurants like stables anymore. Everybody is just kind of jerks. However, a lot of the time working there put a smile on my face. I was a dishwasher. However, there were times where I could help out everybody. There were times where the servers were so packed up that they couldn’t bust their own tables. Not their fault at all. Each and every one of those servers are amazing. And it’s not a big deal to help them anyway. I won hundred percent. I’m going to continue to eat there. And you guys should too. Thank you Linda and thank you Morgan hope to see and hear from you guys soon. Love you all.“

“Had a good time! The owner is hilarious and gives off Sam vibes from Cheers. Tells a great joke and is very personable. He's dog friendly so take your dog is ya want.
The food was excellent and he let me pick songs on the jukebox so that's a plus for me!!“

“We were passing thru and staying at Best Western Premier. The desk clerk recommended Conrad’s! We went there and so glad we did! Claire was our waitress and she was amazing! Hubby has allergies and she went back twice to make sure he was ok!! We shared the Blue Chips appetizer…with a couple cold ones. OMG….they were soooo good! We had regular BBQ sauce instead of Buffalo. Amazing! And you get so much!! Definitely enough to share! Then we both ordered the grilled chicken wrap with ranch dressing. That also was so very good! I brought 1/2 of mine back to motel for breakfast in the morning. For a side I had steamed broccoli which was excellent. Hubby had the mixed vegetables. It is a casual but nice place!! Claire was awesome and so was the food!“

“We live in the Northland of K.C. & have MANY restaurants to sate my palate. Ventana is now my favorite. My husband and I went for a quick get away to Excelsior on a Monday and next to nothing was open for a couple's date night venue. The Elm's front desk employee recommended Ventana, and I'm SO glad he did. The chicken piccata is one of the BEST Italian dishes I've ever had. Angie was our server and she is fantastic. We're back home in K.C. tonight and I'm already wanting to go back and experience more of their delectable menu.“

The lettuce was so very fresh & crisp; the strawberries were perfectly ripe, juicy, & freshly sliced; the grilled chicken was a generous portion & still warm, but not so hot as to wilt the lettuce. “I recommend the restaurant and the staff. But the short haired manager with glasses makes the dining experience awkward for her team and uncomfortable for the patrons. Don’t berate your team, lady. But if you must, don’t shout it across the room. We eat here a lot and the staff is wonderful. Maybe she’s the common denominator among the problems she perceives.“

Small town vibe with a surprisingly robust menu (breakfast and lunch till 2pm). Good coffee, reasonable prices, and all the charm of being in a well-preserved historic building right on the lively Liberty Square. Order at the counter, then pick your own booth or table. Food is delivered to your table by someone who is genuinely glad you are there.“

“I have been to Catch 22 several times with my friends and my family! It offers delish food, appetizers, drinks and fun live music...One of the best things on the menu are the grilled buffalo chicken tenders!!! The sauce is SO yummy and it's just the right amount of buffalo spice - YUM!!! Their sheet pan nachos are second to none, too, along with their salads with HOMEMADE salad dressing. If you like blue cheese, this is the place to go!!! Tell them I sent you!!! Enjoy!!!“

“Has good food deals Tuesda-Saturday. Parm garlic tots are amazing. Waitress was respectful and helpful. Been here a couple times when they were really busy and couldn't hear the person next to me and had to wait 2.5-3 hours for food. This time was a lot better, no other people ordering. The food is made to order, so it took about a 30 minutes. I had the cod fillets with Parm garlic tots. I had them bring horseradish, lemon caper butter, and tartar sauce and I mix that into the best dipping sauce I've had in a while. I'm a bit of a chef myself. Don't get their wrap unless you want a ham salad, very healthy option. LOTS of pickles.“

“It was Easter Sunday just before noon. Our group was 13 adults and 2 children. Our server Lane was AMAZING. So pleasant, friendly, was always checking on us making sure we had everything we needed. Not one glass ran empty and was on top of the refills. All our food was delicious. With our large group on an Easter Sunday we could not ask for someone as professional as Lane. Great job Lane!!!!“

“My husband and I visited Saltgrass tonight, anticipating the normal fantastic food and service. As always, our food was excellent, and our server was phenomenal, however an unpleasant scene we witnessed really left a sour taste in our mouth for the evening. As we were dining we witnessed the General Manager, Vernon Blazek begin yelling at a young lady right in the main dining area. He concluded the scene when he yelled “Go home. Bye!” As a Human Resources professional, I can say that had one of my managers treated a subordinate in that manner, especially in front of our customers, that would have been the first and last time that occurred. When my husband addressed the issue with the manager, he was incredibly rude and dismissive of our concerns, ending our conversation by rolling his eyes, stating “Sorry I ruined your dining experience” and walking off. To say we are incredibly disappointed in tonight’s experience would be an understatement.“

“The last two times I’ve eaten here the service was fantastic. Tonight April was our server and she was amazing. The food was good. Only negative our booth seating was very small and then we moved to a table and the entire back came off the chair.

I’m glad the service and food has been better as I was about to quit coming. We need good places to eat in Excelsior. Glad to see improvement here.“

“Update: the quality of the food has massively improved, the real butter makes sense at the price range. Delicious as well, and the cheap USA shake was a bargain.

Update /2026/ used to be able to get a whole entire meal for cheaper than a burger at McDonald's, now you can't even get the burger for cheaper than the quarter pounder at McDonald's :(
