When we walked in Josh was on it, made us feel we were “regulars”, like he new us personally and Stacey, the hostess that seated us, was equally as welcoming and we were seated promptly. I don’t believe we got our kind servers name, but the beautiful young lady was on it as well. The chefs/kitchen were on par as well, hubby had one of the eggs Benedict with a side of biscuit and gravy, I had the Ranchers beef salad, one of the best beef and blue cheese salads I’ve EVER had, and believe me, I’ve had a “few” 😋🤫😊 Hubs also loved the huge coffee mugs his coffee and my Kahluah/hot chocolate(yum on this damp chilly day)were served in…this where my only complaint would be, my mug was chipped along the rim 😅 All that said, it was just a fantastic way to start our Sunday. “So glad we found this gem in STL while we were in town today. There was a wait, which we expected, but we quickly found a spot at the bar. Service was great and the food was wonderful. Coffee was perfect. The strawberry French toast is to die for. My husband had the pastrami omelette and loved it. Was nice to meet and chat with the owner, Joshua, who was super friendly. “I drove down to the Boind’ry last night ( June 10, 2022 ) for drinks and dinner and a great time because it’s not only an after work businessman v bar but a mix of wealthy and not so wealthy clientele and sadly it was closed with 4 or 5 guys sitting in the bar talking who I am assuming we’re the owners.Come on guys do NOT shut Boundry down forever because I can tell you better that anyone what made your restaurant / bar the “it spot” for so many years and standing room only most nights in the bar….it was the super cool bartenders like Bruce doing magic tricks and all the other cool bartenders and attractive wait staff that poured great drinks and bartenders were all very entertaining!A bartender can either make or break a bar environment!Any problems of lost customers can be directly attributed to losing colorful charismatic bartenders so hire some great bartenders and open again and word will spread like wildfire and the line of crowds will be down the block again waiting to get in!Some restaurants have free hors d’oeuvres or shrimp or taco bar but none of that matters! What does matter is your bartenders!Years ago at TGI Friday on Ellison Place they had the best bartenders in town doing juggling tricks with bottles the bartenders nickname was Psycho! LolWonderful memories … same for Boundry!So stop obsessing over the menu and get the best bartenders and friendliest and funny and attractive bartenders possible and the Biundry will be the now “it spot” again for another 20 years!“

“A great well established American sports Grill and Bar. Food is very good and generous portions! The onion rings are a “must” try! The pork tenderloin sandwich is another one of my favorites. Service was excellent. Established in 1991 I believe, it has carved its place into the Oakville community.“

“Wife and I decided to hit the easy button after walking nine holes and grab lunch at Ruthie’s. Had been years since I’d eaten there, and certainly delivered! Sat on the patio overlooking the 9th hole, and bartender came to take our drink and food orders. Had the 2nd Shift Brooligan, which was a great IPA. We split a toasted ravioli app and the Crush Burger. Ravs we’re good, burger was absolute fire. Fries were hot and crispy, the way they should be!

“This is the ONLY place in STL that actually feels like LA on the inside. The atmosphere is fantastic and brightens your mood. A great place to work remotely if you have the midday blues.

As for the food, the sides are absolutely delicious and full of flavor, however they go cold almost as soon as you receive it. So eating slow and enjoying your meal becomes quite a hassle. The steak is yummy but the cook on it is not consistent. The pinker pieces definitely have more flavor, unfortunately much of the steak I have received over the past couple orders have been over cooked and a bit dry. The miso crunch salad is very similar to the Health Nut Chicken Asian Salad (The famous Kardashian Salad) except for two distinct differences. The “crunch” is non-existent as there are not any won tons or rice strips. The salad could really use some sort of makeshift crouton to achieve this instead of relying on cabbage. The dressing is also more on the bitter side and doesn’t have the bright flare you’d come to expect from an Asian salad, making it fall short. A little sweetness and citrus added to the dressing would fix this. As for the drinks, same problem with sweetness. The lemonade is too sour and without the sweetness in their mango sencha green tea, it’s no different than making a mostly tasteless tea for yourself at home. Would love to see Flower Child tweak their recipes just a bit to add sweetness and brightness and this establishment would be 5/5 stars.“

“The Avenue came highly recommended and lived up to its reputation. I joined my siblings for lunch here. The staff was friendly and attentive. The lunch menu was expansive and delicious. I recommend the pear cocktail and manhattan winter. W enjoyed the French on Mon soup, beet salad, penne with mushrooms, schnitzel sandwich, and classic creme bruise.“

“The GF, Veg, and Vgn options are slim but not non-existent, there are a few mocktail options, and a few GF beers. Around 5 dessert options, nothing GF. Their sandwich and cocktail options are imaginative and unusual. Overall a very pleasant experience, the atmosphere is very good. The waitress Heather was VERY good at her job. She checked in with me just often enough, indulged my many questions, and was extremely kind. Heather if you read this, you are fantastic and you should be very proud of yourself, and of how you represent your company.“

“It is my daughter’s 16th birthday today and we made a reservation at their sister restaurant Bristol’s awhile back. It’s her favorite place to go because of the fried cauliflower. We got a call today and they had a fire so they couldn’t open but graciously made us a reservation at j Gilbert’s. My son got sick so I had to stay home but they called me and said they made her the fried cauliflower that she loves at Bristol’s tonight at j Gilbert’s!! My family said everyone is being so nice and definitely made my daughters night!! Thank you so much for all you did to make her 16th so special!! You guys are amazing!! I can’t thank you enough!!!“

“All the waitstaff, even the hosts and dishwashers, do a great job under pressure, in odd weather conditions where they led us to evacuate, suggesting menu orders, and keeping the place clean, harmonious, and hospitable. The chefs could do a lot better in pricing the menu, adding seasoning and larger portions, as well as not removing the popular dishes from the menu. The interior design is also eerie because the huge butterfly graphics do not suit the vibe but again the service here is unmatched.“
