You have to try the crab wontons—they’re a must! We just had the Tokyo crispy chicken, and it was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Honestly, I haven’t had a single thing here that I didn’t love. “This is the best fast food chinese we've found in KC. The staff are incredibly friendly and know us as soon as we walk in to pick up our order. The food is always hot, fresh made, and on the very few times they've gotten the order wrong, they've made it right immediately and typically throw in something to make up for the mistake. “Customer service was amazing. Our server was patient with our questions and made great suggestions. We ordered off the lunch special menu where you get an appetizer a side and a protein.
I ordered the Egg drop soup which was served ahead of our entrees. This appreciated so that I wasn't rushed to eat it before my food arrived. It was good but I do think they could have added more of the actual egg in it.
My side and entree choice was the lo main and changs spicy chicken which is their version if sweet generals chicken. I enjoyed that it had a mild kick to it but I was still able to taste the chicken which thankfully wasn't over breaded.
I would give it a 5 out of 5 if the egg drop soup had more egg in it. The picture of the soup gives it more credit than what was in an actually great amount of soup. Seeing portions were definitely larger than I expected. Definitely would recommend.“

“We have been going to Lotus Hot Pot since it opened. Anytime we crave hot pot we head that way all the way from Independence. Restaurant is always clean, service is great and food is delicious! “Typical strip mall Chinese Restaurant as far as appearance goes; but the food is always hot, plentiful, well seasoned, well prepared, good value for your money. Great Hot and Sour Soup!! The people are rude, but the food was very good, especially for fast food. Big portion for sure.

Maybe the lower quality was because they were trying to use up food because they are closed tomorrow? We ordered general's chicken chicken lo mein and egg rolls. The egg rolls were obviously reheated in the microwave and so chewy that we could not even invite them. The chicken lo mein was awful. I guess the low main part was okay but the chicken tasted like chicken that had been in someone's refrigerator for three or four days and been reheated. Although the general's chicken the chicken was good, you could not even bite through the onions and the broccoli was hard as a rock. Because we have had good prior experiences I will try to order here again but maybe not on a sunday?“

“This place totally surprised us. It’s a little hole in the wall, but the food is seriously amazing. Ordering online was super easy, and they even have a rewards program where you earn free food. We spent a little over $50 and got a free 6-piece crab rangoon, which was awesome.

I got the general tso’s chicken and it was crispy and flavorful. The crab rangoons were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the lo mein was garlicky in the best way.The dinner combos are a great deal, around $10–$15 depending on substitutions or add-ons. You get a protein, rice (or small upcharge for lo mein), a spring roll, and a crab rangoon all in one. Everything was hot, fresh, and came out fast even though they were busy when we ordered.

The staff was nice and gave great service, which made a really good first impression. My only small complaint is that the dinner combo didn’t come with any veggies, so I’d recommend adding a veggie side. Not sure if other dishes come with them though.

I am known there for coming to get only their crab ragoon 😭😭 . They are one of the only restaurants that actually have crab, and the other ingredients, that normal crab ragoon should have. The orange chicken is the best in KC in my opinion, and you can't beat their prices (especially their lunch menu prices!)
Everything is made it order and comes out hot and fresh.
I have never had a bad meal here.
