“This is the coolest place in Kansas City! I was blown away by this gem. It is by far the coziest warehouse space I have ever been in. There are several conversation areas set up and so much soft seating to choose from. There is a small but excellent board game collection which was a great surprise. The book selection is so well curated! I had a delightful time hanging here for a drink and a browse. I will absolutely be back next time I come thru town. I loved this place so much!!!“

The breakfast/lunch menu was full of the no fuss kind of meals you could make at home, but she makes them much better. Not over priced huge mounds of food, but delicious, reasonable priced items with wholesome ingredients. (And the bloody Mary's are a meal in themselves ;-)“

“Was really good! Some of the best cocktails I've ever had. Came in during Sunday happy hour after 4 and was told all cocktails are $2 off, however got charged full price for one of hours. Bartender was too busy to ask about it after we got the itemized receipt. Overall, delicious. Just wish we would have gotten the full special.“

“This lounge is moody and eclectic. The vibes are always present every time I step in. The staff in its absolute entirety is TOPNOTCH. You can see the amount of detail that went into the entire process from the staff, the interior, the drink menu, the music. Everything in this bar feels as though it was handpicked. He also teaches you about the history of jazz in kansas city and really about how each song came to be. This was a genuinely a fun time that I wish would have lasted longer. “They had a nice variety of beers from different breweries. The service was good and the food was good. We spent a little over $50 on food and beer for 2 people, they’d not bad at all. There was no parking available in their side and back parking lot. We ended up parking on the street. However they do validate your parking spot if you find a spot to park in their parking lot. They have a ramp which is handicap accessible.“

“It appears to be a speakeasy but it’s actually pretty loud in there. Signs nearby indicated pay for parking but we parked and eventually dined at Anthony’s next door. Drinks are great. We didn’t explore any food options. Waitress was wonderful!“

“Everything we got was amazing! The meatballs were a dense but decedent with the sauce. The vodka pasta was good, but the chicken parm sandwich blew it out of the water!
Love the atmosphere as well as the weird swan sink faucet and will be back for the happy hour. Services was a tad bit slow, but not slow enough to knock it down a star. Everyone working was very nice and our server was awesome!“

“I like Grinders but the description of the “preferred viewing upgrade” was completely misleading! It was crazy hot so we got it strictly for the A/C Not anywhere near the stage and could barely hear the music when we went to get a beverage at the coffee shop (which is the a/c “lounge “) And the view was of the side of the stage and could barely see any of the performers. I will never pay for that upgrade ever again. Someone definitely needs to update the info on their ticket and venue site.“

“It's the best dive bar in all of Kansas City—the only downside is that you might run into some homeless people in the area. It's just a few blocks from the Westport neighborhood. “First time here and definitely worth the quick streetcar from crossroads. An amazing espresso martini. Wife had “plot device” and said it was delicious. Vibes are great weather your starting or ending an evening. Small, intimate, good specialty menu. Will say, the part of town is still being redone so give them a little grace on location.“

“We accidentally stumbled across the Black Garlic while looking for someplace to eat near the Uptown Theater. What a WONDERFUL discovery we made. Starting with the atmosphere, which had such a cool, sleek vibe. We had the pleasure of having Monica and Terry serve our table. They gave wonderful drink recommendations, and the drinks were outstanding and beautiful. The food… I had the Crab Cakes which were some of the best I have had. My husband enjoyed a dish called Giya which was a pork shoulder with a black mushroom rice. And our friend had the shrimp tibs. All of us were floored at how delicious our food was. We have already recommended to several friends and this is definitely a place we will keep coming back to! This experience was 10/10!“

I know that cowardly Corey Owens, whose business is PaintingSolutionsSKC, a painting company with what he and his wife think is a “clever” logo featuring two intertwined Nazi swastikas, left you a bad review for requiring vaccination for your customers during that dangerous time and I just want to commend you and thank you for doing your part to protect fellow Americans. Stubby little Nazi coward Corey can’t even spell “riffraff” but I’m glad you made sure he knew he was a piece of it. You are not alone; crappy Corey is coming after my community too, focusing weirdly and troublingly on victimizing our children. Nazi Corey is both pathetic and dangerous and needs to be kept out of places where decent people go. Good luck and thank you again for your courage and strength.“

“By far my favorite little lounge in KC. It’s just a short 5 minute walk from my apartment so the convenience is there. I love the retro aesthetic mixed with modern design, and when there’s a DJ it adds even more to the experience. My drinks are always great and the customer service is attentive and friendly. The little burger truck outside, Disco Burger, is sic a fun and amazing addition on those tipsy nights you’re craving a good burger. My friends and I LOVE Varisty Club, and our favorite bartender is Caleb. He’s always so nice and efficient with us. Such a vibe. I would give 10 stars if I could.“
