“Busy location. It was a good place for us to stop while we figured out how to get around the interstate closure due to construction. Bathrooms were clean and staff professional. We visited May 2023.”

“Stopped in to grab some coffee and donuts for our fellow Fire Fighter's and the two ladies working one a cashier and the other was working the deli, AMAZING WOMAN!! They were very kind and helpful getting our stuff gathered as we got coffee and donuts for 12 to go! I recommend this place for sure.”

“At a gas station and has a long wait. Order at counter, get food and sit down. Prices are pretty fair. We both got a sandwich only with no sides. I got the jumbo Z-Man which was brisket, provolone and onion rings. It was very tasty. Brisket was super thin sliced. Great taste but not very smoky. Sammie got the Rocket Pig which was pulled pork and fried jalapenos. Both sandwiches were very good. I could have eaten more. I would say that smokiness wasn't very strong but I'd go back.”

“I loved this random(but always vegan) choice of where to eat while driving through the area. The name struck me cool when it popped up on my Google search for vegan restaurants nearby. Excellent rating. Was a no brainer.Totally wowed by all the factors when I walked in, ordered, waited, and ate. The food was exceptional. Perfect. It sets an unreachable bar. I had the Frito Burrito and Buffalo Cauliflower with possibly the best Buffalo and Ranch Dips ever. Left happy full with plenty of leftovers.From one tree hugger to Tree Hugger, thank you, it was delish, I love your homey place. Y'all deserve awards.”

“Great place to gather or to simply come by yourself!! I was on a business trip and I was solo, but I sat at the bar and received fantastic service by Cariann (one of the bartenders) and she was nice to talk to as well. She had great recommendations and made the best experience for me by suggesting the pick 2. I was stuck between the lamb rack of ribs and the 1 huge prime rib (beef rib) but with the pick 2 you can get both, just that the lamb rack was a half rack. Both portions of meat ? was more substantial than one would think and I couldn't believe the flavor explosion in my mouth once I tasted everything!!I also had the potato salad and the baked beans which were awesome! 5 out of 5 stars! Plus, the atmosphere was so chill I had great conversations with anyone who came up to the bar. Not to forget to mention, the drinks and beer selection were great! I had one of the Casual Animal Breweries, IPA. Yummm!!Highly recommend and when I'm back and I hope to see Cariann and catch up with her. I will bring my friends and family for a great dinner! ???????”

“Came here with a friend with little to no real expectations. We were simply looking for a new spot to chill while we catch up on "girl-talk" And Baaaaby - Wow! Hear me when I say EVERYTHING from the greeting, atmosphere, service, hospitality, FOOD and management on point!!My friend's a vegetarian so she ordered a veggie burger but wasn't a fan of the artichoke base pattie. Our waitress saw that she was only eating the fries and offered to prepare a whole new burger, substitute the pattie and add a few other fresh veggies and instantly my friend was won over.?Everything about my dish (bibimbap) was super flavorful and amazingly good!!I have yet to stop talking about my experience here I give a true 10/10Vegetarian options: Not a huge vegetarian option but the option available is delicious!”

“5 stars with a caveat. Food incredible. Wait staff very good. Almost every employee smiled as they walked by. Reservations at 4. Promptly ordered drinks and a seafood tower. In 30 mins more drinks and another dozen oysters. 20 mins another round of drinks and crab cakes. Now it's 5:15. Hostess trys to take our menu. We were about ready to decide on dinner. She said she needed the menu as table was reserved for others at 6 and we'd better hurry. It totally threw us off. Not like we were just chit chatting. Sort of a strange way to say thanks for spending $300 with us. I guess the 2 hour rule is a midtown thing as I saw it at next place we tried to eat dinner at in Brookside. Besides the rude hostess, it is a midtown KC gem. Guess us farm folks with stay out South next time.”

“First visit and we’ll be back often! I tried the Mochi doughnuts, the consistency wasn’t for me. But you should try them at least once and decide for yourself, based on other reviews they are insanely popular! Personally, I am blown away by the bagels and house-made bacon jalapeño schmear. WOW. And the cookies. And the danish. I can’t wait to be back to try other items! Also, the staff was very friendly.”

“We went here expecting great BBQ and they delivered. We went here two times during our 3 day stay in KC. The first time we went we got the burnt ends with brisket, smoked chicken and ribs with mac and cheese and veggies for sides. Carrot cake for dessert. The carrot cake was not on the same level as the BBQ, but was still good.Different parts of out food unfortunately came out cold three and they fixed it right away and the manager came over to let us know how they would fix it on our bill. The service was top notch and above what I was anticipating.The second time we went for lunch time. The server was great again. The food was delicious! Highly recommend the brisket and burnt ends and the ribs! The veggies were phenomenal as well! No issues with food temp this time.Overall, I cannot wait to get BBQ there again. It was the best we have had in the city! Flavorful, moist, juicy, while not leaving a greasy feeling in your stomach. Top notch!I rate the atmosphere average because it would be helpful to have some sounds absorbers in the facility so the noise level isn’t so loud.”

“I really wish there was a bit better place to sit since it was just a few table by a less than picturesque street. However, High Hopes Ice Cream served up what is undoubtedly the best ice cream I have ever had in my life. I eat a lot of ice cream. The honey cinnamon in a waffle cone was divine. I am planning my next vacation around going through KC just so I can get ice cream here again.”

“I come here frequently after getting groceries, one lady remembers me now and knows exactly what I order. I tried something new and it was delicious, I went to reorder it today and I accidentally ordered a tea instead of a latte. I did not like the tea and they made me a new drink even though it was my fault. I love this little shop! The Brown Sugar Boba Latte is my favorite. It is a small shop in downtown, so there arent a lot of places to park, which is to be expected. Good thing I walk everywhere. :)”

“We were in town for the NCAA wrestling tournament. We had a reservation and were seated within a half hour (which was amazing considering the sheer volume of people in this town). Our server was knowledgeable and recommended a ton of great dishes. We really enjoyed the itchy sea bass, spicy charred edemame, and the thriller roll. The sea bass and roll were so good, we actually ordered a second! Also try the China Doll cocktail!! Yum ?”

“My wife ordered Jon's Denver omelet and requested spinach instead of the peppers. No problem with the substitution. Omelet was done just the way she prefers. I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs over easy. I also added an order of toast just so I could get the raspberry spread. Corned beef hash was a standard in my parents' home. I hadn't eaten it since I graduated college in 1968 and left home. My mom's version was really good, but Homegrown's was exponentially bette r. Brooklyn was our server. She was pleasant and attentive without being intrusive. A diverse menu of well prepared and presented food with first-rate service at reasonable prices.”
