“We came in from out of town to relax and have a drink. I ordered coffee and my wife ordered a martini. We didn’t know that you weren’t able to have alcohol outside (although someone at another table had a martini as well). We had our dogs with us and we apologized profusely when the bar manager Victoria came outside and mentioned it. As we were gathering our things, we could hear her inside talking about how she’s tired of this “sh*t” , telling patrons at the bar. Initially we ignored it since we were trying to have a relaxing time in a new town. She kept on so I went in and asked if she was talking about us loud enough to where we can hear her outside! She apologized and said there are signs on the tables. First of all, there was one sign on a table that was written on what looked like a piece of paper and you could barely read the words. There was NO sign on our table and she said people take them off. I don’t like people insinuating that I’m doing something I didn’t do. We paid a 30 percent gratuity for the service we received and this is the treatment your customers receive?! Unbelievable! I told her it’s probably not in her best interest to insult and berate customers that are spending their hard earned money in your town.”

“First time at this brewery after 5 months living in the area. There are a lot of great breweries in WNC and this one is among them. The taproom is really spacious and the outside area is even better since it’s out of town. The concert area outside looks really cool and they even have a stage inside too. The beers were quite good as well. I’m looking forward to another trip out to try some more beers!”

“Yall. Simply the best pastries and coffee I’ve had in quite some time! Went to Black Mountain to celebrate my birthday with my daughter & sister. We ordered one of every pastry and had a taste test of 3 items and took home the rest. THEY WERE AMAZING!! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the staff friendly and attentive, and the pastries tasted like they came from a French pastry shop. Will definitely be back soon!”

“I was cruising through the local ingles drifting my buggy a little bit though the turns here in Hendersonville. The plan was to just grab a few things for work and some coffee. I will be honest and admit I am usually a Folgers kind of guy. I mean they say it is the best part of waking up, and who am I to argue. I decided to try something new, that’s when I noticed some bags sitting on a shelf towards the front of the store. Dynamite Coffee! I gave it a quick google and it turns out it is made local. I noticed one of the bags had a cannon on it. I thought it looked pretty cool, which all the bags had good looking designs. “Dynamite Expresso” was the name. I said, I am sure that it has plenty of caffeine. I poured it in the coffee maker, and when I say it smelled like heaven, I mean it. Finally, after much anticipation it finished brewing, the room was filled with the smell of happiness. As I poured it into my cup, my mouth was watering like Niagara Falls. Then, I took a sip. I would compare the taste to warm sunshine on a cold snowy day or putting on a jacket you haven’t worn in a while, and you find a $20 dollar bill in one of the pockets. It was truly amazing. Then the caffeine started to do its job. Not jittery, just a smooth ramp up of motivation and alertness. Like a plane taking off. I want to say thank you! I am sure my job would thank you too.”

The quality and flavor are always on point. The staff work incredibly hard and are always so kind and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I always look forward to my meal here and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great sandwich.”

“My husband ordered the 1/2 pound burger, perfectly cooked, and was glad to have the option of having a salad for the side instead of fries. I had a salad with chicken (grilled, just right), full of carrots, avocado; both meals were simply delicious! Great service and outside dining was a treat for a cool night dinner. Glad the hotel provided us with a list of local restaurants and we selected The Trailhead Restaurant & Bar!”

“I went in for the raw oysters and they were great! Then I tried a meal and it was pretty good. The service was a little hard to get somebody to attend to me. But I think it was because it was right at closing time and even after hours when I got done eating. But they were very nice and did not run me off and I will go back again!”

“NO FOOD. The beer selection is super solid and the drinks get you where you're trying to go. The one bartender made my paloma with tajin, which I was not expecting, and it was HEAT. If you're looking for a good dive bar this is the spot.”

“Passing through picturesque Black Mountain to have lunch, my husband and I stopped for a cookie in a local craft store. The ginger molasses cookies we bought were perfect in every way and exactly what we were craving! As we got back on the highway, my husband said that the cookies made the whole stop worth it! “A great coffee shop located inside Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain. You do have to be attending an event or staying on campus to enjoy the coffee shop. They have an excellent selection of drinks and snacks too.”

“This Starbucks coffee shop was just about on par with the normal Starbucks experience. My coffee was a little more bitter than usual, so I’d give it a 3/5 for the drink, everything else was 4/5z”

“When you walk up to this snack bar in the foothills of Black Mountain, you just don't know what you're in for... It looks like a typical place with typical food, but it is not... It is fun and it is friendly and it is fabulous!! We got the Foothills Burger and the Carolina Dog with a basket of fries. We asked for the burger and dog cut in half to share. I don't know what kind of hot dog that was, but it was so good!! The casing snaps when you bite into it and the toppings, holy cow!! YUM! Then, onto the burger! It had a slight crunch on the edges that were heavenly!! It was so, so tasty!! The fries were perfectly fried, soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside, and complete salty goodness!! I will drive the 1 1/2 hours just to get this same exact meal all over again!!! Take the trip, make the drive, get the food!! You won't regret it!!”
