“The Barbacoa Crunch wrap was one of the most amazing things I've ever eaten. Fantastic! I wasn't a fan of the fire roasted salsa, but my husband liked it. The queso was delicious with the chips. Grab a Mexican Coke and you won't be disappointed.“

“If you want to feel taken care of and at home, this is the place. Food is great, portion sizes are more than enough. I ordered enchiladas and a burrito because I am used to having to order that much and I was full after my first plate. What really makes me want to go back is their service. DoorDash was unable to pick up my order and the restaurant sent a driver to ensure I received my food. I've never had that happen and I think it really sets them apart from other restaurants. Great people, great food, try them out!“

“Small hole in the wall restaurant. I ordered the Chorizo Torta to go. Cashier was a gentleman who was very friendly and quick. Came with fries, which were crispy, well breaded, and delicious, great portion, couldn’t finish them all. The honey mustard type sauce that came with them was also very good. The Torta itself was phenomenal. Sizable portion and stand out flavor.“

“Stop in for lunch and was not disappointed. I had the Asada Taco they had a really great flavor and were very tender. The food was ready shortly after we ordered and delivered to our table. The salsa was really good and had a great flavor and some heat to it.“

“I don't feel the need to write a review often, but for this place (and my love of great tacos) I will do it. These guys make the real stuff, fresh tortilla, house made salsas and chips and etc, great flavors, nothing fancy, just traditional done well. REALLY good tacos (working my way through the rest of the menu, but I am confident it is solid). The chef/owner is pretty much always there and you can tell he cares about his food. It's always delicious IMHO. I have lived in LA-CA, Central America, spent a lot of time in Cuba and I am GF so I eat (and have eaten) A LOT of tacos. These are really solid tacos. These are my favorite in Durham.“

The GM Jamie , Dining Director April and their team were very professional and took care of all detail - printed personalized drink menu and allowed decoration setup, worked a prescribed menu with us. Drinks margaritas were great; appetizer quesadia ( veg), mini tacos ( veg and chicken) and enchiladas along with Churros/ chocolate + Tres Leches was excellent. Thank you Mez team“

Parking: The parking lot is small but you can find a place.

Kid-friendliness: The place is not very big and it is suitable for children as long as parents keep an eye on them because there are a couple of somewhat high steps that could be dangerous for children if you as a parent do not pay attention to them.“

The Mexican street fruita was tart, sweet, spicy, and served in a half-pineapple, very fun. My main, the mole chilaquiles, was wonderful and very pretty (pictured). My only complaint is that I ordered iced coffee (off-menu) and they charged $10 for it (and added dairy without saying, and I’m lactose intolerant). So, stick to the menu and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! I’ll definitely be back.“

“This place is delicious. Great food for very fair prices, portions are huge. It's your local, solid, Mexican spot that doesn't disappoint.

The staff is always very friendly, the manager/owner does a great job. To give an example: I ordered takeout and got not even 1 minute down the road and they called to let me know they forgot something. To fix an error before I even knew of it is impressive.

“We love this place, the service and the food excellent ! It's like going down the rabbit hole and coming out on the other side in Wonderland! Don't let the age or location of this building fool you. It's definitely worth a visit. This place has the best traditional tacos in all of Durham! The pineapple water is to die for, and each plate of tacos is served with pickled carrots and onions that will drive anyone mad! The staff is always so friendly and our food is always prepared promptly. This really is a family favorite and a must-have at least once or twice a month! I wish they would sell the pickled carrots by the gallon. LOL, they're that good!“
