Even after us getting there early and seated quickly they still sold out of our usual favorite starters (lobster deviled eggs and crab stuffed mushrooms) but the bacon wrapped scallops and seared tuna did not disappoint. Jake mastered my extra dirty martini to Brittany Spears and beyond Courtney Love levels while server Josh (with a Cabernet Sauvignon wine namesake) cheerfully and attentively took our orders. A member of our party even successfully completed the 6 Oyster Challenge earning a shirt. The drinks were on point, the beer was cold, the food was excellent and the staff was engaging and amazing. “This is an addition to a previous review from a year or so ago. I now live in the area, and have found that the service and food is just as good as when I was in AB as a visitor. It is winter-time yet the food is still top notch and the service outstanding. My mother loves the Three-C chowder which is chunky, creamy, and chock full of seafood (I had to get in my 3-Cs!). The shrimp dinner has an ample portion of shrimp and the sides are a nice addition. Burgers are cooked as you ask, and tater tots make it an awesome meal. The wait staff in here are incredibly friendly, efficient, and personable. I still highly recommend On the Rocks as the food is delicious and reasonably priced, and the service is impecable. These ladies are awesome! For a great place to eat during the winter as well as the busy season, I will continue to go to On the Rocks.“

“My husband wanted to try Fried Soft Shell Crab and while we were in Beaufort NC we saw that Blackbeard’s had it on the menu. He ordered the build your own combo with the shrimp. He thought it was phenomenal and said the shrimp was the best he has had. I tried a cup of the Chowder and the Bisque. Both were really good but the chowder was my favorite. Carol our waitress was amazing, we were asking her about the soft shell crab and she gave us some history on the place. If you are in the area, make sure to eat here, you won’t be disappointed.“

“First time and by far the best seafood in the area. Will be back next year. Definitely make reservations we did not but was earlier enough and they seated us. Staff was so friendly and exceptional. “I've been dining at both restaurants for years and enjoyed myself ,the food , and the staff! The food and sides at Morehead have a better flavor, taste better ,and the portions are much bigger. I ve notice that recently on my last couple times that the sides are much better at both restaurants. The mash potatoes in Morehead are so delicious. I wish that was the same case at the emerald isle restaurant. The Cole slaw is the best that I have taste recently. I swear if the food was as good as the sides have been lately I wouldn't eat anywhere else. SNAPPPERZ KEEP IT UP!“

“We celebrated New Years Eve with reservations at The Prime, and had a wonderful experience. The shrimp cocktail,served with melted butter and housemade cocktail sauce is now a new fav! The sides are served "family style" and easily enough for 2 people. Our server suggested we order a couple and share since it was so hard to choose from the variety of sides. Everything we ordered was delicious. My steak was a little too rare when it came out but the chef had no problem putting it back on and it came back out cooked perfectly. The entire wait staff was friendly and everyone made us feel welcome. We will definitely be back.“

BBQ sandwhich all the way (with coleslaw) was good, they have bottles of different sauces so you can make it your own! So I did.
Friend with me had the BBQ and chicken plate. The chicken was huge! Being me, I tasted it, the skin was crisp and light and the meat was tender and juicy.

“I took my son here for his birthday last September and we were not disappointed! We went early on a Sunday afternoon and were seated immediately. Our waitress was amazing and because it was our first (but definitely not our last) visit, we asked her for recommendations. She recommended the Brussels sprouts appetizer, which was delicious. My son got the Hawaiian Special and it disappeared in record time. I definitely recommend the homemade blue cheese dressing if you like it ordinarily, because it puts the stuff in a bottle to shame. At the front of the restaurant (by the restrooms) are walls filled with photos and the history of the establishment, which I found fascinating. We marked the occasion by grabbing a couple of tee shirts on our way out.“

“This was the perfect stop on our way home from camping on Cape Lookout. Service was slow, but we weren't in a hurry, and it was nice enjoying the beautiful view. The portion sizes were generous, none of us could finish our meals. Our dog loved her burger patty. They brought it out already cut into strips. It's so nice to find dog friendly restaurants that have outdoor, waterfront, seating. My daughter thought the honey mustard was the greatest she'd ever had. Having eaten at other waterfront restaurants in Beaufort, this one was relatively less expensive. We found paid parking a block or so away, and appreciated the public bathrooms at street level out front.“
