“I’ve loved Saltfish on CB for years, but the new owners have really kicked it up to a whole new level. I hate to make it more difficult to get a reservation in this cute little tiki bar, but I gotta sing their praises. The service and food have gone from ‘really good’ to ‘omg I’m gonna dream about this meal forever’. I’m currently obsessed with their scallops- they’re served with a stunning curry sauce, fragrant rice, fresh citrus slaw, and Maduros. It’s a beautiful meal and perfectly executed every time. Last night we got the coconut shrimp app, the scallops and their chicken katsu, and then finished it off with their homemade rum cake with candied pineapple and fresh whipped cream. Everything was just incredible. They’re staffed better than they used to be- service is quick and friendly. Expansive menu of tiki drinks. Definitely recommend reservations even in the off season- it’s a tiny spot with limited seating. 10000/10 definitely recommend this little gem.“

“Service great, food just OK. The restaurant is small, and the bartender covers the table service as well. Everything was hot and served together. I had the teryaki chicken with pineapple, and while the chicken breast was cooked well, it really would have benefited from a marinade or dry spice rub, as it was cooked, rather than the pineapple slice and sauce just put on top... Zero depth of flavor. My wife had salmon and. said the flavor was good. While I wouldn't seek out Olde Salty as a destination restaurant, I would eat here again in a pinch.“

We hosted our wedding after-party at the Silver Dollar Rooftop in mid October and it was absolutely perfect! Mitchell, the manager, was incredibly easy to coordinate with—he checked in on our drink preferences the week of and even offered to help coordinate food. We ended up bringing in our own food, and the Silver Dollar team worked seamlessly with the pizza place to make sure everything was set up and ready before our guests arrived.

We had the entire rooftop deck to ourselves, which was amazing and provided tons of space for our ~100 guests after the wedding. Downstairs was still lively with karaoke, but they went above and beyond by letting the bridal party jump the karaoke line, which made the night feel extra special.

The service was fantastic, the vibes were spot-on, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. They truly made it as personal and stress-free as possible. We really appreciated how easy they made everything from start to finish.

This is already one of our favorite bars in Carolina Beach—you truly can’t beat the karaoke vibes—and we would recommend the Silver Dollar Rooftop 100 times over. Thank you for helping make our wedding night unforgettable!“
