Sitting in such a beautiful place next to the dog park, people watching while nursing a cold seltzer on a hot day was just a wonderful way to spend a part of our afternoon. There was a decent selection of beer and seltzer, soda for the non drinkers. Seating in the shade was perfect for the heat of the day. “Cru Food & Wine Bar is a wine lover's playground, with an impressive selection of wines that makes choosing just one feel like an impossible task (a very good problem to have!). We kicked things off with a build-your-own cheese platter paired with soppressata and prosciutto. The cheese selection was excellent—Manchego, Pecorino, Cheddar, and Camembert—all fresh, flavorful, and a perfect match for the wine. For my entrée, I had the Wagyu Picanha steak with papas bravas and the "jumbo" asparagus. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was absolutely delicious. The papas bravas were fantastic as well. The only thing that gave us a laugh was the asparagus—while tasty, it appeared to have skipped a few meals, because there was nothing "jumbo" about it! We also tried the Barolo-braised short rib, which was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. It practically melted with every bite. To finish, we shared the Tiramisu Cake, and wow—what a way to end the meal. Rich, decadent, and easily one of the highlights of the evening. Great food, an outstanding wine selection, and a relaxed atmosphere make Cru a place we'll happily return to. Just don't set your expectations too high for the asparagus's waistline! 🍷🧀🥩😄“

“Cool little place to meet friends at for a quick bite. We had the Bruschetta board which we were able to choose what kind we wanted and mix flavors. We also had the meatballs and they were awesome. So rich and flavorful. The service was great as well. I'd return to try something different.“

“Great ambiance and a really nice place for drinks and appetizers. We ordered the Hummus and Patatas Bravas to start, and both were very good. For drinks, we had the Carajillo Rum Old Fashioned and Noda Radio Haze, and enjoyed both.

For the main course, we tried the Pappardelle Alla Ragu and Bucatini Con Tomate. The entrees were okay, but they didn’t stand out nearly as much as the appetizers and drinks. I was also disappointed with the vegetarian selection—there was basically only one real vegetarian entree option.

Service was okay, while the ambiance was excellent. Overall, a good spot for drinks, appetizers, and atmosphere“

“Beautiful atmosphere, love the food especially the desserts. Today was different. I order the usual caramelized Brussels Sprouts. This time no sweet caramelization, so I explained that to my waiter, hoping to get them touched up or ask if I wanted to change to something else. Nothing like that happened, he returned with my ticket stating I took it off. Umm, I would like to have had them fixed . Nevertheless, I ate my scallops only and left after paying, no dessert this time. No vegetable with my scallops. I can’t say I will not come back but, I will be watching my server. Poor service makes a poor experience.“

“Although I have enjoyed all that I tried at this establishment the scones and tea are what love most. They are often extremely busy on the weekends and evenings so the volume can climb however it a historical landmark so that is understandable. This is a tea room although not a traditional tea room so go try it out and enjoy the experience .“

Also had the best iced tea I’ve ever had at a restaurant. My husband got the French Toast and said it was amazing as well! “Visited on a Friday evening with a group of friends, and we had a great time! The place has a fantastic vibe with plenty of seating that’s both relaxed and comfortable. They offer a wide variety of beers, including their own in-house brews, which were definitely worth trying.

One of the highlights was the large screen where we enjoyed a FIFA World Cup match—made the whole experience even more lively and fun. The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating, even taking the time to let us have a quick look at their brewing setup, which was a nice touch.

I first dined here in college when I was looking for some eggplant parmesan - since that day 20 years later it’s still my favorite Italian restaurant in Raleigh! Btw their eggplant parmesan uses in house ROASTED eggplant not fried and I cannot explain how delicious it is. I’ve likely tried everything on the menu by this point and not once have I been disappointed.“

Her coffee finally arrived, after she finished her dessert. The rest of us had to wait over 30min for our drink. I ordered a White Russian. It was so iced down, the ice had melted and the drink just watery whatever. Our server just acted like we were bothering him, each time we asked about the status of our drink order. My drink was the only mixed drink. The others were a shot of bourbon, and 3 decafs (the coffee was already made) Next time we want to stop somewhere for an after dinner drink, it won't be here.“

“Level7 Rooftop Bar has become one of my favorite places in Raleigh for networking events, sunsets, and pretending I’m far more sophisticated than I actually am while holding a cocktail and staring dramatically at the skyline. 😄

The views are fantastic, especially around sunset. Apparently, I’ve now become “that person” who takes entirely too many sky pictures, but honestly, Raleigh keeps cooperating with these ridiculous sunsets, so I refuse to apologize. 🌅😂

What I really like about this place is the layout. There are so many little seating areas, couches, tables, and tucked-away spaces that it actually makes networking events enjoyable instead of feeling like you’re trapped in a loud convention center fighting for survival and eye contact.

It’s open and social without being obnoxiously loud every time I’ve been there, which means you can actually hear conversations without smiling and nodding while secretly having no idea what someone just said.

The bartenders have always been great and friendly to me.

Now… some of the wait staff? Let’s just say maybe I’ve accidentally caught them on their “I need a vacation immediately” days. 😄 But honestly, we all have those moments, and it’s never been enough to keep me from coming back.

I haven’t eaten there yet, so I can’t speak on the food, but for drinks, views, sunsets, and networking, it’s a really great rooftop spot.

Basically, if you’re looking for a place to meet people, catch a sunset, have a drink, and casually act like your life is very glamorous for a couple hours, this is a solid choice. 😂“

“We were a party of 4. Two of us enjoyed the Durango burger and the special Parmesan crusted chicken. The third guest had the special salmon and shrimp special with mango salsa. The reason he ordered the dish was because he loves mango. The dish came out full of grilled corn with one tiny cube of mango! Imagine his big disappointment. The shrimp was cold, but the salmon was at the right temperature. He said he would not order the dish again. My tenderloin salad was absolutely awful! The onion rings were cold and the beef was dried. I asked the waitress to have the dressing on the side but it came drenched in dressing. Our waitress was MIA the entire time except when it's time for the check. We had to ask another server for bread for the table. We went to the restaurant to give it another try after a disappointing visit a few months ago. Needless to say, the second time did not encourage us to return anytime soon in the future.“
