“Decent foodImpressed by the food and appetizersOne of these led to digestive problemsNice pleasant atmosphere. The tall guy is great and very kindWe went with family friends. Group of 12Food has quite a bit of flavor. I would recommend basically anything. Not a huge fan of Korean food but this is actually pretty good. I am ready to return for the third time. Or wait, is it the fourth?“
“Andrew and the crew at Blue's took great care of our large group from Canada. Everything ran smoothly, food was great, and drinks were flowing. Crew left happy & full!! Definitely recommend Blue's on Franklin for a good sized crew. Thanks for everything Andrew!“
“First time here, credit card machine broken; second around time was a charm. Great food, parking lot configuration is traditional Cookout, know your tray and follow the cones going in. Order was quick and precise, line moved rapidly, food was hot and ready to roll. Preferred Tray: Reg cue sandwich, puppies and quesadilla with a Cheerwine or the only other alternative Huge Sweet Tea.“
“Please bring the Jerk Turkey Tacos back! My go-to is always the Baht Mi sandwich but this special caught my eye and boy am I glad I tried it. I haven't found an amazing jerk dish in the triangle but this knocked my socks off! I hope I'll see it again. Easily a top contender on the menu!“
“I came here with my husband and we were really impressed by the food and the atmosphere! It's been a while since my visit, but I was honestly shocked that I hadn't had the chance to review it. We got the smoked brisket plate, the jambalaya, and the gumbo. I think the brisket plate was out favorite item, but the jambalaya was a close second!! We are excited to come back soon.“
“Thanks for all the prior reviews that had us head here! Have to add on and pass it forward.Nice set up. Rustic. What a bbq place should be like! Service is not the most friendly but they get the job done and we were just fine.Fantastic ribs! The rub was so good I did not want any sauce. Probably the best ribs I have ever had!My husband loves BBQ sauce and was disappointed that it wasn't slathered in sauce. We did realize as we walked out, there was plenty sauce by the condiments table. My take , ribs are just perfect the way it is served, but if you want more sauce checkout the condiments table. Our son got the shrimp po boy sandwich and said it was excellent. The sides were good. Very tasty, we had the roasted corn, collard greens and Reese's pie. They are served very hot, so be careful not to burn.Last but not least, their cornbread was fantastic! Not sure if we will be back in Durham but if we are, we will stop by again!“
“My Dad and I stopped in here after seeing many great reviews and recommendations. The beef brisket was very tasty and had a wonderful smokey flavor without having too much sauce. Great coleslaw and extra crispy fries. Good service and food came very quickly!“
“Allen & Son's knows what it's doing -- no frills, simple menu, and incredible barbecue. We got the barbecue plate with barbecue pork, hush puppies, fries, and baked beans. The bean was classic NC vinegar BBQ - succulent and delicious. The hush puppies had a touch of sweetness. The beans were were appropriately sweet and complemented the vinegary flavor of the meat.“
“Ten out of Ten. As you can see my plate is gone. It was absolutely delicious, I wanted to take a picture before I started eating but the smell and visual had my stomach on go and once I got that first bite I just couldn't stop ?.Parking is a little tight I believe they share with another restaurant but I pulled up just in time to get a front door spot yay..Menu is on the wall with many options. I got the chopped barbecue with the red potato salad and greens... OMG let's start with the Barbecue 10/10 it was chopped and juicy I asked for extra BBQ sauce . It has like a vinegar based flavor but sweet BBQ after it is amazing. This comes CHOPPED by itself or on a SANDWICH I believe it's like a toasted Texas toast( I could be wrong). The potato salad had nice chunky potatoes with a great base especially with the relish it was absolutely delish...The greens AMAZING cooked to perfection with a slight sweet taste it was so good.. I can't even explain .. the size was just perfect I didn't have to slurp my greens up cause it was super long ?.Checkout was quick I was kind of bummed they didn't have the creme soda bottles but the they have other options FOUNTAIN DRINKS, BOTTLED SODA, CANS, WATER.THIS PLACE WAS JUST ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGTEN OUT OF TEN!“
“Couldn't have been happier with our first experience at this terrific little spot! I come to Durham from PA several times a year to visit my elderly parents at Croasdaile; we are always looking for new dining spots to try, and this one did not disappoint. My mother suffers from both cognitive and dietary issues, and our wonderful server couldn't have been more friendly, upbeat and accommodating. She brought my mom a special gluten targeted menu especially suited for her needs and patiently helping talk her through all the choices, then kept checking back to ensure all was well. The specials were amazing, (hot honey Brussels sprouts?? Smoked blueberry mezcal margarita?!?! Dang!) and oh wow, that brisket....I'll be dreaming about it until I can come back again for my next visit! Literally the most tender I've had in ages. Give this wonderful place a try and I'm betting you'll be back. I know I will!“
“I am a student at UNC Chapel Hill, and when my mom visited town we ordered City BBQ. The meat was amazing their pulled pork was so juicy and tender! The swine wine sauce was the best barbecue sauce we had ever had. After eating our first order we ordered two more pounds of meat to have for the rest of the week! The chocolate cake was divine! Definitely will become a regular staple!“
“As someone that has had NC BBQ from all over the state, I feel I am fairly qualified to make judgements. This is decent Q. It had a nice, mild smokey flavor. From the taste, I would guess it was hickory smoked, which is essential for NC Q.My problem with The Pig's Q is that it contained a fair amount of pieces of fat, skin and gristle. Maybe some folks like this in their Q, but I detest it. If you look at the picture with some material on the left side of the plate, that is the waste I pulled out.The collards were decent, but lacked seasoning, somewhat bland. I asked for vinegar but was told all they had was malt vinegar. I don't know of anyone that puts malt vinegar on collards.I loved the pickles.Overall, I will be returning. I'll just have to take some time to remove the unwanted "extras" mixed in with the pork.“
