“We dine here when we visit Charlotte on vacation. The last 3 times were excellent. This time the fourth time, was not satisfactory. My partner ordered a slab of ribs and more than half of the ribs was fatty. Also, a physical fight between two women and a man occurred by the front door. If we were still standing, waiting to be seated, we would be in the middle of the fight. Not the restaurant's fault, but ruined our dining experience.“

“Absolutely delicious Thanksgiving dinner we ordered! Staff helped me load to my car and it was ready when I arrived. The Turkey was smoked and my whole family loved it. “Let's start off with the greeting from the hostess. She was very welcoming with a great personality. I believe our waitress said she was her Manager. Our waitress Marissa is one of the best waitresses I have come across. From the time we sat down until we left. Her customer service was 10/10. She engaged with my six year old daughter. Even when she was being extra talkative. She still engaged with her every time. To the point where my daughter loved talking to her every time she came to the table and walked by. She laughed and joked with her. Her conversations with my mom and I were super genuine. She took our order in a timely manner. She gave us updates while waiting for our meal. She checked on us throughout our meal. Gave us our drink refills in a timely manner. We didn't have to ask her for anything or wave her down. She was on top of it. She has the perfect personality and pays attention to her customer's. I also observed that she was the same with other customer's as well. She has the charisma to Intertwine and comfortability to talk to customer's and not at them. She cares about her customer's. She's an asset to your team. “Sweet Lew's did not disappoint. While visiting my BFF, I decided this trip I wanted N.C Barbecue. After searching & comparing reviews we decided to try Sweet Lew's and it did not disappoint. We both had "The Sampler." I'm not a beef eater. Although, I found the brisket a tad bit dry, when drizzled with Sweet Lew's Brisket Sauce it made it enjoyable. The ribs were juicy and cooked to perfection. I tried my friends Red Coleslaw, not knowing what to expect, was the bomb. The meat was dry-rubbed with sides of Barbecue Sauce, which were vinegar base, but not overwhelming so. Overall, we really enjoyed our meals, so much that I purchased a chicken dinner to go for the next day and look forward to returning.“

“Absolutely fantastic food and even better service. Taylor's takeover as GM blasted City Barbecue into the stratosphere. I love service that feels more like a casual meet with a new friend, rather than a clinical transaction; and Emily and Alex go above and beyond in this regard every time. I would do unholy things for a Smokehouse Salad with brisket, hardboiled egg tossed in, smothered in the house Chipotle Ranch and Brushfire sauce. Keep on rocking.“

“Maya’s was fantastic as our server! We had never been before and she made the experience more than amazing! The entire meal was fantastic, fresh meats, seafood and vegetables. “The host was AMAZING we had a big party and they accommodated us quickly and efficiently. Our waitress J was awesome however the kitchen staff FAILED horribly with a few of the meals! The chicken and waffles were a hit! They didn’t have the chicken and dumplings soup which was a huge FAILED specifically because they failed to tell us instilled after we had been waiting WELL over 30 minutes for even the first meal to come out! All of the food was luke warm EXCEPT the fries which replaced the chicken and dumplings soup! The moonshine peach 5 dollar special shots were ALSO A HIT! So my REAL review #Hostess 11/10… Jay our waitress 10/10 (only because I feel the food should have been brought out as it became ready EVEN if the kitchen failed miserably) food taste 7/10 because my daughter loved her chicken and waffles! And my son didn’t LOVE the chicken. But overall the atmosphere was nice. Jay did have a lot to handle with our big group and some allergies BUT in my opinion SHE HANDLED HERSELF WELL UNDER STRESS AND ISSUES OUT OF HER CONTROL! I think I would go back but maybe not with a group and definitely not 2 hours to closing I think the kitchen staff probably gives up at that point and figure you get what you get!“

“We hired Dan & Debbie to cater our sons graduation party for 60 people! The food arrived on time, hot and tasted amazing!!! It was a hit and all the brisket, turkey & chicken wing went fast! We ordered enough, but people went back for 2nd & 3rds! Banana pudding was the “excellent” cherry on top! They are our favorite BBQ place in town, especially the Brisket!!!“

“This City Barbecue restaurant is so good. It's so hard to decide what to get on the menu because everything looks delicious. I wish we could get every single side. The barbecue sandwich was great and delicious 😋. My kids love it and ate everything. It's also quick when everyone is hungry. It's a good place to stop after soccer at the Matthews sportsplex. We loved the corn pudding and the hush puppies and the cornbread and the green beans with the bacon are so delicious. We're definitely coming back to this City Barbeque.“

“I would recommend it more if they would deliver to Lake Wylie, SC as do their neighbor restaurants in the Steele Creek area. Our physical address is Lake Wylie but our mailing address is Clover (9 miles further west) so you say you can't deliver to us. Sad! I previously picked up a wonderful meal in Gastonia (who also doesn't deliver here although their other neighboring restaurants do)! It's frustrating to be associated with a city further away from our physical location.“

“This place is hands down the best Korean BBQ place in Charlotte. If you want a server who is knowledgeable and cares about his patrons, Amadeo, is your guy. He helped picked out our menu and had wonderful recommendations. He made small talk at our table and we will be back because of his wonderful professionalism and manners. “The food has been prepared fresh each time I come here. The staff are friendly and the wings and fries are amazing! I’ve tried the hot honey wings and spicy teriyaki and both were sauced well and unique in taste compared to other popular wing spots. Much better actually! Maybe made in-house? The sauce does not taste generic and the texture of the wings are always perfect. The prices and wait times are not bad either. There is a smoke shop attached with equally friendly and helpful staff. He took his time assisting me with my questions and went above and beyond to find answers if he was unsure. I always try to stop by when I’m in the area and will return and suggest your business to others.“

“I don’t usually leave reviews but the food we got Friday was so unbelievably delicious I had to. The ribs are smoked perfectly and the meat is so tender, falls off the bone and practically melts in your mouth. Their baked beans are so yummy and the potato salad! 💯 The potato salad is the closest to tasting like my Grandmas that I have ever been able to find. We will eagerly be waiting for the truck to be in Waxhaw again!!!!“
