“My girlfriend and I had a Classic Burger, Shrimp and Chorizo tacos, and the Dirty Fries. She is vegan. I am not. She also had a chocolate shake.
The burger was outstanding. Standard toppings and special sauce. Great flavor burger with a little heat.
The Chorizo tacos were amazing. Cilantro Aioli wasn't a great pairing for me but the taco itself was extremely tasty.
The Shrimp Taco had the same great flavor. The shrimp wasn't exactly my girlfriend's favorite texture (extra taco for me!).
She also loved her chocolate shake and wanted to know how they made it. It was rich and creamy and had an excellent flavor.
The drinks were a sweet tea (strong and perfectly sweetened) and a pineapple lemonade (also flavorful and just tart enough).
The Dirty Fries were a tad too sweet for me but lots of flavor.

“If you are looking for soul food that’s clean and fresh Ava’s is the place to be. The food is flavorful but not “heavy” or greasy. All of the veggies are meat free and delicious! My favorite are the collard greens. Mmmmmm 🤤🤤🤤 You can taste the love and care in the food. Which makes sense because it truly is a family owned/operated restaurant. The staff is professional, friendly and super patient. Zi walked me through the entire menu my first visit, with a smile. Oh did I mention in addition to the non meat sides they also have vegan options! I could sing their praises all day honey! I can’t wait to go back 💚💚💚“

“Me and my husband were in Greensboro visiting a friend (we live in Martinsville VA) and she had mentioned Ben's Boyz previously. We decided to go try it out. The food was absolutely great! When we got back to Martinsville my husband was still talking about it. We both ordered wings, and I got collards and potato salad as my sides, he got Cole slaw and fries. He said these are the best wings and really raved over the corn bread (he loves Jiffy mix so this was a hit for him). I totally agreed. My only complaint would be the collards were sweet. Some people like it like that so I cannot make it an issue. I also tasted my friend's fish and it was delicious. Definitely will be back. I read some of the reviews and since this is a very popular busy place, some issues are to be expected. I am sure they are doing the best they can. Sometimes we have to walk in others shoes to know what it is like.“
