“We had a surprise birthday party for a family member today!! What a great time. We had use of the Queens room, The food was great as usual but I need to bragg especially in our server Jeanette. She was amazing she handled us all with efficiency and grace!! I know we drove her crazy but she was amazing!!!! Thank you John’s place for a wonderful time and again kudos to Jeanette !!!“

“Eat there every time we are in the area. We always enjoy the home cooked food. Tonight my husband had the baked chicken with dressing, green beans and black eyed peas. I had the sausage with cabbage, mashed potatoes and black eyed peas. Both meals were delicious!!“

“The fish and chips I had here were pretty exceptional for an unassuming-looking American restaurant. Fish was fried well and was crispy. Needed more salt. But the medallion-style fries were unironically the best fries I've had outside my kitchen. Perfectly crispy exterior, soft interior, seasoned with Lawry's, and came out piping hot.

Even the slaw-- which is never good-- WAS good.

Will definitely be back just for those fries.“

“Visited Matthews, NC few days ago and had lunch here. The food was awesome (I had Jalapeno Poppers and Peter Piper burger), and so was the beer selection (I had a really good blonde ale (cannot recall the name unfortunately)). Service was great, and washrooms were clean. The place has a really cool vibe to it, looks like one would feel at home there while watching sports on one of the many screens.“

“Down home cooking great variety, Southern Greek foods. Older restaurant with great food and great service. GREAT Service! We have visited several times and they always go over and above our expectations. We quickly noticed that although we may have an assigned table and waitress, the waitresses support one another. A family atmosphere like a friend invited you to "dad & mom's" house for a bite to eat, and mom and the family give it their all.“

“The best part of Jekyll and Hyde is the amazing employees and the atmosphere. We were greeted and sat by a hostess with the most fun hair that compliments the steampunk feel of the restaurant and she was all smiles and very welcoming and friendly. Awesome start to dinner. Our server was Kaylee and she also made the experience very enjoyable and I would recommend asking for a table in her section if you go in. My drink was never empty and she made sure we enjoyed all our food. The food was great all around. Looking forward to going back soon!“

“My kids and I enjoyed eating at Applebees! The food was great, the service was excellent! I even had forgotten my card to pay with and because I had a picture of it on my cellphone, the server was able to enter it manually and verify that I was the cardholder via my ID. I definitely recommend this place!

“Four of us went out for a special dinner last night that was a treat by my son and his girlfriend. My husband said it was the best shrimp and grits he ever tasted! All of the food was delicious and our waitress was on point and so fun and friendly. We sat on the patio and it was the perfect ambiance. I definitely would like to go again when visiting my son.“

“I love this place! Service is always great and it’s decorated like a 1950s diner. The food? Fantastic, fresh and is ready fast.
Superboy (get it as is) and fries are my “go to” but the fried chicken, onion rings and the chicken salad plate are also terrific. They also have a delicious mustard-forward potato salad that slays. You won’t be disappointed!“

“Omar (the Manager) and Alex (our waiter) was excellent. We celebrated my niece’s birthday after church. Omar came by several times and checked in on us. Alex made sure the plates were removed from the table when done and we didn’t run out of drinks and provided the attention to us that was needed. They both really made our lunch even more special with their service. Their kindness and hospitality didn’t go unnoticed.“

“Took our daughter here as her choice for her birthday. Our server was kind, welcoming and we appreciated her energy. Area we were seated in was clean. My only complaint was some of my food was overwhelming with "salt". I ordered the salmon dinner. The rice was salty along with my order of asparagus. I had to send them back because I couldn't eat it. This is not to say the food isn't good, just please cut back on the over seasoning. My daughter enjoyed her birthday and we will visit again in the future.“

“Their layout is maximized for seating but it feels cramped no matter where you sit. It's a good business decision to make it so people werent waiting long for open seating, it just takes away from the experience slightly.

Ribs are very good here. Steak wasn't the worst I've had but won't order one again. Overall it was fine“
