“Late Night/Early morning after the club sustenance!! We are not from the area and only came into Charlotte for an evening event. We did however pre research some local wings spots incase we were hungry after all the dancing. Chex happened to be only 5 minutes from where we were and with a good rating we chose to give them a try. We arrived 45 minutes before closing and boy were they busy!! (That’s a good thing) Phone orders were coming in non stop all the way up to closing and people were walking in every 3 minutes.My girl friend and I ordered a 20 count wings with lemon pepper (dry) and honey hot sauce. The wings were cooked perfectly nice crunch factor and the ranch was delicious. The honey hot was let’s call it lip puckering in the lip filler kind of way..lol but still a great taste and the dry lemon pepper was very overpowering with how much seasoning was on each wing. Overall the food was still enjoyed.“

“Wow. First off service was very southern and hospitable. The waitress made an effort to check in and give suggestions as it was out first time. She even went over the different sauces that were on the table! The food was great as well. Our appetizer was the chicarrons and they were still sizzlings, so extra pints on that. We got a meat bbq platter and the salmon meal. Both had their fare share of salt but I enjoyed the experience of North Carolina bbq. The aesthetic of the restaurant also makes this place memorable. You have the history in the building and nice spot in the center of town.“

“My very first time here and OH MY GOODNESS...it will not be my last! Where do I start? I was part of a large group (17 people!), and we were all seated in about 15 minutes. To our delight, there was a DJ playing today! Our 2 servers were absolutely awesome. They were fast, friendly, and accommodating. Even with a large party, our food came out in a timely manner. I had the wings and the red velvet waffle. Delicious! Delightful! It was such a wonderful dining experience for this first-time visitor. Everything was done in excellence. If it couldn't get any better, as we were preparing to leave, the owner came out and greeted us! He was so kind and gracious. Prices are very reasonable. Standard pub fare - wings, burgers, flatbreads, appetizers, etc. we love the wings. The tater tots and onion rings and fries are all crispy and delicious. A great spot to watch sports. Don't come if Alabama is playing football. They were slammed busy today at 5pm due to basketball and the service didn't suffer for it. The place was full plus a birthday party and UNC game followed by a NC State game and staff rocked it. Bravo!“

They were short handed but staff was very polite and the food was wonderful. The best pizza we have had in a very long time. Thank you so much. If I had to call out any one thing it would be that they did turn away a family from quite a distance away with 30 min. left open . The pizza only took about 10 min once we placed our order so they could have served them. That’s really the only thing. We were very pleasantly surprised.“

The guy who is always at the front is quick to greet customers and goes out of his way to ensure that everyone has a good experience. They always bring napkins and utensils to the table, which I appreciate. The last time I went we received pickled radish with our order, so yum! They also have other sides and dishes like tteokbokki, but their chicken is definitely my favorite thing on the menu. The seating area is small and a lot of people place to-go orders. I'm vegan so I can't vouch for any meat dishes with curry or jerk, but the chickpea curry is quite tasty and is coconut milk based. You can order it spicy upon request which adds the best flavor in my opinion. I can eat the spinach patties all day. They are delicious. The cabbage and greens are okay. I've referred others to order at a conference in Charlotte and they loved the curry and Jerk chicken.I've only ordered via doordash, but I'm a frequent shopper. The only thing I dislike is that often I have to remove meat pieces from my rice which is annoying ? since I'm vegan but I am conscious of it when I order now. The fries tasted fresh, desirable texture with the fine crisp, and a chefs quality of saltiness.I'm not sure if the sauces are just a marketing ploy or not, but; they come in non-vacuum sealed individual units, and are refrigerated. This atleast leads me to speculate that the sauces are made fresh, and are not heavily processed with preservatives. They do taste phenomenal compared to other fast food dipping sauces.The atmosphere of the establishment is pretty run of the mill, good music selection for casual dining. Also, well thought out floor planning to maximize seating while respecting foot traffic patterns. Mark, with his rich background in the restaurant industry, dreams of opening a northern-style deli/luncheonette/breakfast spot in the future.Since this was my first visit, Mark suggested trying something from their menu of scratch-made chicken entrees, including tenders, nuggets, sandwiches, wings, salads, and wraps.With so much to choose from, I settled on a fried chicken sandwich with pickles and their signature zesty Hubee Sauce—reminiscent of Zaxby's Chicken Sauce—alongside a serving of well-seasoned matchstick French fries and creamy mac & cheese with a white cheddar sauce. Everything was made to order, arriving hot and fresh. When comparing Hubee D’s fried chicken sandwich to that famous chain that's closed on Sundays, Hubee D’s takes the crown. The chicken was perfectly breaded and fried—juicy and crispy. The Hubee sauce added just the right touch without being overpowering, and the bun was perfectly toasted, with the pickles providing a refreshing contrast.While I usually lean towards baked mac & cheese, Hubee D’s saucy, creamy version was a delightful surprise. “Over the years this has become one of my favorite dives in the city. The bar is attached to Boudreaux's which is under the same ownership, and is also located next to the Neighborhood Theater which makes it a favorite place for people to stop before a show. Therefore you are likely to see all kinds of people from punks, to hippies, to metal heads, all are welcome inside. It is also a favorite stop for bar and restaurant workers to come have a drink after their shift. They play great music from 80s rock to early 2000s pop punk depending on what the bartenders are feeling. They also have a pool table and are famed for their wings which are incredibly popular especially on Monday nights when they are half off. There isn't much else to say, this is a no frills bar and a great place to relax and have a cold one or play some pool with your friends.“

“If you haven't been by LakeView lately you need to go this weekend! The dining room and food presentation has transformed. They still carry family friendly dishes but have also added several very creative and delicious options. The Dublin Steak is great and the pork belly sandwich does not disappoint. The wings are great and I recommend the Chesapeake rubbed wings. Last night we also tried the crab cakes which are also a great dish. We also tried the Fish and Chips - done really well , light and crispy and not oily. Service are good and they were cleaning and wearing masks and were very cautious to people safe. Five Stars“
