“We had the pleasure of working with George at OooWee Barbeque for two large events, and I cannot speak highly enough of his service. From the very beginning, he was incredibly easy to reach and quick to respond, making the planning process smooth and stress-free. We were operating on a tight schedule, and George accommodated every need without hesitation. Whether it was adjusting the menu, timing, or setup, he handled it all with professionalism and ease.

“I'd give it a higher rating but the hostess or host person in the entrance wouldn't even tell you. Sorry that you had to wait 12 minutes to get somebody to look at you and he wasn't very pleasant to be around. As for the waitress, she was fantastic. That young lady is great“

“We dine here when we visit Charlotte on vacation. The last 3 times were excellent. This time the fourth time, was not satisfactory. My partner ordered a slab of ribs and more than half of the ribs was fatty. Also, a physical fight between two women and a man occurred by the front door. If we were still standing, waiting to be seated, we would be in the middle of the fight. Not the restaurant's fault, but ruined our dining experience.“

“Let's start off with the greeting from the hostess. She was very welcoming with a great personality. I believe our waitress said she was her Manager. Our waitress Marissa is one of the best waitresses I have come across. From the time we sat down until we left. Her customer service was 10/10. She engaged with my six year old daughter. Even when she was being extra talkative. She still engaged with her every time. To the point where my daughter loved talking to her every time she came to the table and walked by. She laughed and joked with her. Her conversations with my mom and I were super genuine. She took our order in a timely manner. She gave us updates while waiting for our meal. She checked on us throughout our meal. Gave us our drink refills in a timely manner. We didn't have to ask her for anything or wave her down. She was on top of it. She has the perfect personality and pays attention to her customer's. I also observed that she was the same with other customer's as well. She has the charisma to Intertwine and comfortability to talk to customer's and not at them. She cares about her customer's. She's an asset to your team. “Absolutely fantastic food and even better service. Taylor's takeover as GM blasted City Barbecue into the stratosphere. I love service that feels more like a casual meet with a new friend, rather than a clinical transaction; and Emily and Alex go above and beyond in this regard every time. I would do unholy things for a Smokehouse Salad with brisket, hardboiled egg tossed in, smothered in the house Chipotle Ranch and Brushfire sauce. Keep on rocking.“

“The host was AMAZING we had a big party and they accommodated us quickly and efficiently. Our waitress J was awesome however the kitchen staff FAILED horribly with a few of the meals! The chicken and waffles were a hit! They didn’t have the chicken and dumplings soup which was a huge FAILED specifically because they failed to tell us instilled after we had been waiting WELL over 30 minutes for even the first meal to come out! All of the food was luke warm EXCEPT the fries which replaced the chicken and dumplings soup! The moonshine peach 5 dollar special shots were ALSO A HIT! So my REAL review #Hostess 11/10… Jay our waitress 10/10 (only because I feel the food should have been brought out as it became ready EVEN if the kitchen failed miserably) food taste 7/10 because my daughter loved her chicken and waffles! And my son didn’t LOVE the chicken. But overall the atmosphere was nice. Jay did have a lot to handle with our big group and some allergies BUT in my opinion SHE HANDLED HERSELF WELL UNDER STRESS AND ISSUES OUT OF HER CONTROL! I think I would go back but maybe not with a group and definitely not 2 hours to closing I think the kitchen staff probably gives up at that point and figure you get what you get!“

“We hired Dan & Debbie to cater our sons graduation party for 60 people! The food arrived on time, hot and tasted amazing!!! It was a hit and all the brisket, turkey & chicken wing went fast! “I would recommend it more if they would deliver to Lake Wylie, SC as do their neighbor restaurants in the Steele Creek area. Our physical address is Lake Wylie but our mailing address is Clover (9 miles further west) so you say you can't deliver to us. Sad! I previously picked up a wonderful meal in Gastonia (who also doesn't deliver here although their other neighboring restaurants do)! It's frustrating to be associated with a city further away from our physical location.“

The ribs are smoked perfectly and the meat is so tender, falls off the bone and practically melts in your mouth. Their baked beans are so yummy and the potato salad! 💯 The potato salad is the closest to tasting like my Grandmas that I have ever been able to find. “Towne Tavern is our favorite local watering hole! The staff are super friendly and make the place, especially Amanda and Andie. The daily specials and bingo/music bingo give something fun to do. I work from home so getting out of the house for fun and hanging out with the locals is what it’s all about. We’ve been coming to the place for a while and think the food has been so much better under new management. Definitely check it out if you haven’t been!“
