“Sometimes I feel bad because I think I rate businesses too harshly, like maybe I just expect too much. Then I come to places like this and I see what a 5-star rating restaurant truly looks like.Everything was amazing. Our server was on top of things, continually filling our waters and we never ran low. Our food was delivered quick and fully correct. I ordered the crispy chicken, and, while I'm not a fan of collards (my wife loved them), it was one of the best meals I've had. The presentation was incredible and truly a 5-star dining experience.They don't have a kids menu, but since we really wanted to come here, we called ahead and they graciously said they can make something work. Our girls ordered chicken tenders and fries and they said it was the best (direct quote) chicken tenders they've ever gotten! I can't give this place higher praise than that.Richard, the owner, stopped by our table at the end of our meal and we had a great conversation about their story, their travels, and what led them to open this place that used to be a run-down gas station. This place is the definition of 'excellence' that so many restaurants promise but fail to live up to. “[A Vegetarian & An Omnivore, Eating Out Together]It feels a bit superfluous to add another rave review to Corner Kitchen's glowing recommendations. But it's only fair because it truly is an excellent place to eat. We've been enjoying breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Corner Kitchen since moving to Asheville the same year it opened. We don't make it for breakfast quite so often anymore since the change to later opening hours and the brunch/lunch menu. But we understand the realities of food service in Asheville these days and are appreciative that the Corner Kitchen is still going strong. They still provide imaginative vegetarian options although the chef does lean heavily on adding bacon to a LOT of items. The lunchtime roast beef sandwich is sorely missed. But a regularly rotating dinner menu means there is always something new to try. Take out orders are always packaged thoughtfully. It would be hard to overstate how well-trained the staff is. You will be delighted by your server, regardless of who it is. The location is very much not handicap friendly, but that is no fault of the owners. It is an old house that has been re-designed as a restaurant and is located within an historic district. There is only so much that can be done. But if mobility is an issue for you, please be aware that the brick sidewalks are uneven (again, not something the owners can fix) and there are steps both to and in the restaurant. It is possible to eat on the patio and avoid the steps, but restrooms are only available on the second floor. The tables are quite close together and the volume this generates can make if difficult for folks with hearing issues. Again, there's not much that can be done about this given the constraints of the building. But if it's possible for you, we definitely recommend putting this on your "must try" list.“
“Visited Asheville for a few days and I ate at this location twice. Once to dine in and the other was carry out.The service and engagement from the staff was great! It seemed like a place that gave permission for their staff to be themselves, while focusing on the customers experience. We felt comfortable and at home.We got there before a line formed. It seems to come in waves. We were there mid week around 6:30p. Nevertheless, we ordered our food, got seated and the food began to come out as it was ready.The good was very good. I tried the chicken and waffles to play it safe initially. The waffles, eaten immediately while hot was the best way to go for me. Very tasty. The chicken was also pretty good and flavorful. Well seasoned. Not just that seasoning on the outside but not on the inside foolery. I could’ve done with a little less breading but still good. I went with the chicken fingers type pieces to last on top the waffles.The sides. Maaaaaaaaan!!!!Loved the sweet potato, corn casserole and Mac & cheese. Loved em! “We decided to order everything that looked good and share it all since we were traveling through and likely can't return. We got the gnocchi (amazing) the crispy Brussels (best ever in our lives) beef cheeks (insanely tender and 10/10) pork belly (10/10) sunchokes (good but not exciting) fried chicken (perfect and the strawberry barbecue sauce was perfection!) and the schnitzel (the sauce was ISANE and a perfect dish!). Overall we LOVED this place and the prices were so reasonable! The two of us ate all we wanted and took tons of leftovers home with us. Love loves this place!“

“This is a cute restaurant with lots of character. My coffee mug said, "Ew...work." you order and pay at the podium and then lots of options for seating. The coffee is very flavorful without being bitter. The burrito was the best one I've ever had. My husband had the traditional and said it was really good. Service waa great. Definitely recommend for a tasty inexpensive breakfast.“
“I'm giving 5 stars for the service because we didn't want for anything but the person did have the personality of a fencepost. The food, however, was crazy good! I had the shrimp and grits and it was one of the best breakfast dishes I've had in years. My Sister had the Southern Benny and and also raved about it. Really, really flavorful and perfectly cooked. The complimentary beignet beginner was a nice touch, too.“
“For many many reasons, we had not been to the Red Rocker for close to a year because it had just gone downhill. We would go there at least 2x a month, so we decided to give it a try again on Friday and we were very pleasantly surprised. The service was fine, but the food was excellent. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes had a wonderful, creamy quality to them, and the seasonal vegetables were not cooked to the point where they were absolute mush. They still had a little bit of crunch to them. It was delicious.One suggestion…..the website is not accurate as far as the menu. One of our favorite desserts was always the peanut butter pie. It still shows it on the website, yet we were told they no longer have it. There are some other discrepancies as well. To prevent people from being disappointed, I think it would be helpful to have the menu updated on the website.We will go back again.“

“This place was great! We had a very fancy dinner on our weekend trip and they served us so little food we were still hungry after. We stopped here on a whim and shared the cuban cowboy sandwich. On the recommendation of our server, we had the pasta salad. Both were delicious! The brisket and pork were so juicy. The service was quick and helpful. The place had a cool vibe and we very much enjoyed our experience. We would definitely come back.“

“I was thrilled that we walked in on Easter Sunday with no reservation and a bigger party and were seated quickly, even with a full restaurant. The hostess and waitress were 10/10 helpful and kind. Everyone in our party loved their food. The kids portions are very reasonably priced, so I was nervous the portions would be small, but they were very generous. The restaurant was very clean. Everyone had a wonderful time and I would love to come back and visit if we come through the area again. Thank you for making our visit wonderful!“

“I'm not sure still what to say about my meal. I was served a glorious filet mignon over sauce. WHO PUTS A FILET MIGNON ON A SAUCE?!?!?!I asked for a medium cook. It was the high end of the medium and truly tasty. It was served with this weird garlic flower thing that felt very wasteful. I love garlic, so I ate all of it, but whoa, that was a LOT of garlic. I'm glad I'm not a vampire.The service was exceptional. Keep him around because service like that is hard to come by these days.Seriously, y'all, if you have to put sauce with your steak to make it taste good, you're doing steak wrong. Get rid of that weird sauce that does NOT belong with a filet!“

“I've been told about this place by many locals and I have to say... They were not wrong about the quality of product being presented, I had lunch with my food rep and he mentioned that this was his favorite kind of barbeque as well. (Texas/Kansas mix I believe) I had some burnt ends too which I somehow didn't get a picture of apparently, the customer service was as great as it gets, they were very knowledgeable and had a strong sense of pride backing their work/product. I will definitely be back! I'll review the brewery Attached later on, the brew-flight I had after my meal was phenomenal.“
“I was very surprised with this place... The food was freshly prepared and served with a large portion... They do not have table service.. You order and pay at the counter.. Food items were moderately priced and service was fairly fast... We had thunder storms the day we visited and had to eat inside..but they have great outdoor seating with nice views of the gardens.“

“Love this little brewery! The owner and staff are friendly and terrific people. The beer types are varied enough that everyone should find a favorite. The deck, lot and building provide lots of variety in seating to choose from. Mac's food truck has excellent cheeseburgers and cheesesteaks. Local friends keep the fire-pits burning in winter.“
