“I’ve heard great things about this Restaurant. So, I’ve decided to come try this Restaurant for the first time. I’ve went there Last Sunday, 4/19, & celebrated my Birthday. I came there around 1:00 PM. There were lots of Customers there. So, I had to wait 20 Minutes to get a Table, not too bad of a Wait. The Employees were Super Nice & Friendly. The Food was Excellent! I would also like to say the Tres Leches Pancakes could use a little bit more Tres Leches, but it was Great! The Mimosas were Great! Great Customer Service, & No Communication Barrier. They’ve treated me like a V.I.P. The Atmosphere/Music was Great! I can feel the Culture as soon as I walked inside. Muchas gracias a Amenecer Cocina for making my Birthday a Great & Memorable one. “I was satisfied as a customer. Food was good. The only thing I have feedback on was the spicy chicken. I thought that it was a marinated chicken, and it is not. Instead it was regular chicken and it was refilled in front of my face, and then spicy sauce was poured on top of it, and mixed. It’s best to have marinated spicy chicken.“

“The food here was awesome! We got a takeout order and I can’t stop thinking about the tre leches cake, it was so good. We got the texanas and ACP and both were great as well! The tortillas were thick and fluffy and clearly homemade, and my daughter kept stealing ours to eat them. We are so happy we tried this place. The leftovers lasted for several meals.“

“Most amazing atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door! It’s beautiful in every way! Not only the atmosphere, but the food is AMAZING! The margaritas, specifically the strawberry basil margarita, was the best margarita I’ve ever had! The service was impeccable! Jordan was our server and he was ON POINT! Such a knowledgeable and friendly guy! The parking lot was packed and we figured we’d have to wait, but nope, got sat right away even though there were about 10 birthday celebrations there as well. There is not one thing I would change about this place and I’d live there if I could! It’s such a beautiful atmosphere!!!“

“Delicious authentic Mexican food. I had carne asada tacos, my Mom had a chicken quesadilla and we shared some queso and chips. Great prices. The only thing I would like better is if the queso was thicker because it was very thin and didnt stay on the chips. Otherwise I’d highly recommend this restaurant.“

But, I ended up trying this Place out for myself. I’ve sat at the Outdoor Dining Area, which I absolutely enjoyed. The Customer Service was good, & the Restaurant has a good bit of space. I’ve felt so relaxed while sitting in their Outdoor Dining Area. I really loved sitting outside. Also, the Food was excellent! My Tacos were great, & the Meats were flavorful & not overcooked. The Rice & Beans were great! Also, their Agua Frescas were excellent, & I definitely loved their Cucumber-Lime Agua Fresca, which is rare to find around most Mexican Restaurants. Mi Rey definitely didn’t disappoint, & I’ve had a great experience. I will definitely return. I think that I’ve found me a New Mexican Spot here in Wilmington. “Visited this amazing restaurant for the first time yesterday. Extremely clean establishment with a mouth watering aroma. The staff here are super friendly and courteous. Ordered steak & chicken fajitas. This is by far the best authentic Mexican Food I've ever eaten in my life. Steak was cooked to perfection and the chicken was moist and perfectly seasoned. That said, I was very disappointed to bite into my shrimp poboy and discover they had completely changed it. ugh!! If that is all I knew of Amy's was that particular burrito, I probably wouldn't be back. “$1 tacos can’t be beat. Flavors pretty good but they make tacos at rocket speed which is good to move the line along but no 2 tacos are ever the same. One has 3 beans, one has too much rice, one is twice the size of the next because they throw the taco fillings on at mach speed! I’ll still be back for that price but it’s sloppy at best.“
