“Great atmosphere. Tons of seating inside and outside. French broad runs right by facility and you can sit outside right by it to enjoy its beauty. Dog friendly.Great beers. Had a farmhouse ale that was delicious and the husband had a barley wine that was great.Food truck and snacks offered at bar.Parking is free and right outside building. If you have a lowered vehicle, watch when coming off road down into parking lot. Little rough.“
“We had a nice afternoon on the patio for St. Patrick's day! The on tap beers and cider we tried were really flavorful, and the food trucks on site were easy to order from (and delicious). Great space for getting together with friends and listening to live music.“
“Great beers and amazing food options for everyone. I enjoyed the house salad, the dressings were well made and had great flavor. All of the accoutrements were fresh tasting and plentiful. Friendly beer tenders on hand to help you discover a wide range of house made beers.“
“Well I am definitely surprised and loved the ginger beers. As all can tell from my reviews I drink a lot of craft beers. This is by far an excellent break from the normal beer scene and wish they were in Florida for those real hot days. Bartender made excellent recommendations. I would suggest getting flights here to get a real good idea of the varying to lavors.“
“My world is microbreweries. This one offers a true tour of their facility and the process. They have a slew of their brews on tap. Every day they host a food truck. Plenty of parking, a rarity in Asheville. Otherwise there's nothing here to make it stand out as a must stop.“
“Nice taproom! Great selection of pretty darned good beers (and some other drink options as well). Bartender was nice and helpful. The blues duo that was playing was pretty good. Looks like they've got a lot going on during the week from trivia to game night to open mic. Inside AND outside spaces are very comfortable and inviting.“
“This brewery is kind of hidden compared to the other cluster of breweries in Asheville, but they're brewing good beers and has a chill vibe. We had a delicious fruited sour and German-style beer. We also sampled a few of their other beers on tap and everything tasted clean. We would've visited this place twice but didn't have enough time! Definitely visit if you have a chance.“
“First time here and we came for brunch! Very friendly staff and quick service! I ordered the shrimp and grits and my boyfriend had the bread pudding waffle and chicken. Both were impeccable. And they did not skimp on the shrimp in the grits! That creole sauce on top of the dish was chefs kiss. Can’t wait to come here again!“
“I love a good dark beer and this place had one that was dark and really smooth, lacking that awful bitterness that some dark beers get. It’s so cozy inside! I love being there. Lots of plants. It almost has a cafe vibe! I would bring my dad there as well as a friend or a date, lol! The staff indeed is exceptional. They know their beers and are so incredibly warm and welcoming. These folks have a great thing going.“
“One of the original breweries here in town & one of my favorite breweries for beer in the country. It's a don't miss kind of thing place. Only come for the beer & people watchin. Have a great walk about the arts district or just go for a walk along the river. IMO - they make the best beer of anywhere you'll ever go.“
“We stopped here for a quick drink before dinner. The taproom is very cool and a fun place to hangout and have a drink. We enjoyed the view from the top floor which looks over the park. It was great! I had the seasonal drink which was delicious and my husband really enjoyed his beer. We would definitely return here again.“
“We frequent this establishment for the beer and fun friendly bar vibe. But also the food occasionally - the steak salad is wonderful. Good quality steak thinly sliced so it works so well with the salad. Fresh salad greens and toppings. Best croutons ever are fries!“
“Loved the food, and the beer was incredible, the atmosphere would melt cupids heart but I had to give you a four because it's 20 degrees outside and the damn mens bathroom almost froze my pickle off. Needless to say, the beer was excellent, causing way tomany bathroom trips.“
“Finally in town and able to finally to check this place out. It’s been on our list for a while. Killer taplist with a huge variety. They also have wine, Jell-O shots and non alcoholic options so truly something for everyone. It’s really rare to find a brewery with so many dark options. Tonight we tried two different BA barleywines. Ancient Teeth collab with Southern Grist. This has to be the most complex barleywine I have tried but I really like it. We also got Buy High Sell High which is a collab with Corporate Ladder. This is definitely on the sweeter side and the brown sugar comes through with slight booziness. Cool vibe, super friendly service. I will definitely be back.“
“A couple options here at the market which varied between fried chicken, tai food, empanadas and a couple dessert foods. Buxton Chicken Palace is where I chose to ate the chicken tenders were very good. I didn’t enjoy the honey sugars but they had a very good white bbq sauce. It was a little busy so that might be why the wait was so long but I will say if I were in a rush I would’ve had to leave without my food bc it took about 30 minutes to get chicken tenders. The tai place was very good not many menu options but was fast and delicious. Upstairs there is plenty of seating and the highland brewery where you can buy beer.“
“I've been here several times and am always amazed at the different beers they have to offer. I had a Tokyo Gose here once and it was absolutely delicious! If you haven't tried the beer here, you are missing out for sure. Make it a part of your next trip to Weaverville.“
“By far the most atmospherically pleasing brewery I've ever visited. The owner and staff are warm and welcoming, the beverages are delicious. Abundant use of natural wood and huge tropical plants in the open, airy space make me want to never leave. Lots of outdoor space too. Love this place!“
“I stopped in today to try their pizza for lunch. I order a cheese as well as a Margherita pizza (wanted to take a pie home for the family to try). On Mondays they include a beer with the purchase of a cheese pizza or burger. It's too bad I was on the clock. Anyhow - Both pizzas were delicious, but the Margheritawas superior. Definitely an American take on Neapolitan style pizza. Do yourself a favor and find a reason to try their homemade ranch! That shiz should be bottled and sold everywhere! I will definitely be back with the wife to try some other menu items and beers. Cheers!“
“We love Wedge Brewing! If you're in town- it's a must visit for beer! Great location, good vibes, and good service! Been coming here for years, and the only thing we wish is that they'd bring back Paynes Pale Ale (our favorite!!! Please!!!!) Cheers??“
“Even if you aren't a beer drinker, this brewery is worth a visit for the food. We had cheese curds and pizza, and both were delicious. They had a special on their Rabbit Rabbit beer for $5 that day, and it was a great light beer. They have indoor seating and a large covered patio that is pet friendly. Family friendly also.“
“New favorite spot in Asheville. My wife found this gem online and we stopped in for a beer. Plenty of options for anyone’s tastes. We tried the AsheChill IPA. Delicious. We also ordered and Impossible Meatloaf sandwich from Bear’s BBQ. One word. Amazing! Can’t wait to come back.“
“Archetype is a great brewery, but it's so much more than that! Check our the events calendar- they are always doing something different most nights of the week. Their rooftop is ideal for watching sunsets, and their big parking lot makes it an easy destination. I visit a few times a month for various events and am always pleased with their beer selection. You also have the option of getting pizza or gan shan from 2 of the adjacent restaurants, and I love that it's dog friendly!“
“I enjoy coming here with my family on the weekends. We are able to order from the food truck out back and enjoy a couple of beers!Whether it’s enjoying the weather on the back patio area or hanging out inside, the atmosphere here is awesome. The beer selection is always good and they have something for everyone. The staff also seems like they enjoy being there and they are always friendly.I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a drink in a good social environment.“
“Dirty Jack's is Green Man Brewery's tasting room. They have a great indoor space, as well as some seating outdoors. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and their beers were pretty good. They also sponsor a bunch of local men's soccer teams too, who frequent the facility.“
“They don't have bad beer. Literally. Everything on the list is amazing. I almost don't want to write this because this place needs to be kept a secret. But they deserve it. Keep doing ya thing Burial.Edit 4 years later.... The secret is out ?“
“Ahh Oyster House! Everything one would want in a local neighborhood seafood restaurant, brewery and bar all in one very small space. After eating the Carolina trout dish so many times I switched to the étouffée, my new favorite. We also had the crawfish bites for the first time and they were a good replacement for fries.Hey O’ House, bet y’all would rock a crawfish special, the Louisiana ones are in season!“
“This is a tiny basement bar hidden away in the middle of downtown. When we went it was pretty empty but they had a fantastic live singer there. The beer is good. This is a good option if you are looking for a less touristy brewery with a dive bar feel.“
“Visited in October 2014. A charming warehouse-style brewery pub adjacent to the Wicked Weed Funkatorium. The selection was commendable, complemented by outstanding service. It felt so much like home that living in a warehouse doesn’t seem like such a far-fetched idea. It was unexpectedly tranquil for a Saturday night.“
“This place is super chill. I was there on a Saturday night and it wasn't super busy which was a relief because there were a lot of us and everywhere else we'd been had been insanely loud. There was a very nice selection of beer and the bartender, not sure of his name, was super super friendly. There was a live band playing when we got there, kind of like a funk style band. Very cool The patio was nice as well. There was plenty of seating and much easier to converse with your party. I ordered the lime something lager. I can't remember the exact name. It was very crisp and refreshing. Would definitely go back.“
“We went here lastnight for my birthday. We specifically went for the sake and Ramen. It was amazing. The egg rolls were killer. The nachos were salty. The atmosphere was cozy and festive. I can't wait to go back and try more items on their menu!“
“Attended a wedding reception here over the weekend on the 3rd floor. The place was hopping! When I approached the bar I was greeted quickly and with a smile. I ordered the pilsner which was the lightest beer they had. Even though it was a light beer it still had a bit of happiness to it. We were there about 3 hrs and everyone in our party and their normal customers were all having a blast.“
“Visited in October 2014. Absolutely a must-visit spot. The Funkatorium serves an impressive selection of sour and funky barrel-aged Wicked Weed brews. The place charms with an interior that blends the warmth of a bodega with the conviviality of a German Bierstube. The absence of Wi-Fi was a minor inconvenience during my last visit, though this may have since been updated.“
“Awesome spot in AVL for a live show on Monday! What a great venue. The acoustics were amazing & the performance was priceless. Everyone was so friendly- from the staff to the crowd- I always felt invited & comfortable. There is a great outside area to hang out and enjoy your brews. One World is a must in AVL! Don't sleep on Mondays- head over to the mash up and witness amazing sounds!“
“Wow, Hi-Wire Big Top knows how to throw an event. I stopped by with a friend for A Court of Thorns and Roses themed event and I was blown away. They used their event space, which was my first time in that space. It was huge, well decorated, had it's own bar as well as a DJ for the event. The turnout was huge and the costumes were immaculate. While we were there we noticed posters for a wrestling event they were hosting the next day, so we decided to check that out as well. Another A+++ event. It was the first time I heard about the wrestling event but I was told it happens monthly. It was extremely entertaining, hilarious, and the crowd was so into it. I highly recommend checking it out. There's a food truck on site with burgers, so come hungry. I'll be keeping my eye on the event calendar for future unique events.“
“Have come here often, and it is most like a neighborhood pub that we've come across in Asheville. They have a nice selection of beers and wines. While the menu is limited, it has a variety and abounds in pub fare. Overall, a fun place for drinking.“
“I stopped in solo about a week or so ago, and enjoyed a few beers. I sat at the bar right inside on a Saturday afternoon, not many others around, but I definitely appreciated the chill vibe, unlike some other breweries around that were jam packed. The gentleman behind the bar was polite and helpful with both me and other customers I observed while sitting at the bar.I had a few of the IPAs, as well as the Koji Quad, which was outstanding and added some interesting flavor profiles to a style of beer I enjoy quite frequently.Definitely worth a visit on your brewery tour around the area.“
“WOW! Thin crust (BEST!) pepperoni, onion, bacon and black olives. Had a mix beer guided by staff suggestion (light beer with a shot of a jalapeños beer on top...perfect combo). So delicious I had two beers and danced in my chair over every bite and sip. Highly recommend this joint. 5 stars!“
“We had our wedding welcome party here on 11/10/23 and the on-site team were a pleasure to work with. They were able to accommodate our large group nicely, with fast service and dedicated servers so everyone could socialize rather than be running to and from the bar. The cider menu is extensive, which my guests loved, plus they had plenty of non-cider options to be inclusive to those who prefer to sip on something else. Plus, the taproom is really nicely decided. Would definitely recommend to host a casual event like a wedding welcome party!“
“Wow! We wanted traditional, hand tossed pizza and NOT a tiny Neapolitan style pie. French Broad Pizza was just what we wanted, huge slices, fresh from the oven, delicious ingredients and reasonable prices considering the size of the pizzas. The pizza counter is in the rear of French Broad Brewery and the neighboring distillery. It's very charming and has outdoor seating on its deck. We really enjoyed the pizza and the setting. Highly recommend French Broad Pizza ?????“
“Catawba Brewing Company is a decent space with plenty of seating and some games to play inside (darts, cornhole, etc.). This isn't their main location, but just a "tasting room" which kind of under-sells it. Their beers were pretty darn good, and the bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable.“
“It is a nice lil spot, visited for the reggae show. They've got food over at french broad pizza, which has more than just pizza, salads and subs too. Didnt get a chance to try out the brewery's selection of items. Also, they have a tiny area besides the pizza thats just a few tables and its on the grass. Its a super relaxing area to chill and take a break, I wish more places had a spot like this.Indoor space good for small events, but I couldnt figure out where the outdoor space for larger events is (maybe parking lot?)“
“Great place with eating upstairs and a good place for drinks downstairs (although you can order from the menu downstairs). Had a good burger here with very good locally raised beef. If you're familiar with Wicked Weed beer then you won't be dissapointed, excellent selection and stuff you can't find in stores. Atmoaphere is really cool with a nice vibe. Great place to go.“
“I don't usually leave reviews... this is by far the BEST bar I've been to, and I didn't even try the food. I ordered the Egg Nog and Wassail in the pre-prohibition part of the bar, and they hit that deep Christmastime nostalgia. My boyfriend had the Winchester and Grab a Pear, and both were also delightful. The atmosphere is wonderful, the vibes impeccable. Overall, everything was quite tasty and well-balanced. Thank you guys for that experience. ^-^“
“Great local brewery with a welcoming atmosphere and kind souls. Sweet outdoor corner stage with live music living in the air. Iron and oak bbq available most days until they sell out and they will. Stop in and have a quick one. Belgians are my personal goto with the hazy ipa a close second. This is a local community vibe type of hang out and I will continue to find this place when I need a minute to just be.Ps: Wednesday night blue grass jam should charge admission the folks are so good.. And don't skip Brian playing bass and leads Charlie Hunter style on Thursdays.“
