“A lot of people don't know that Garrison City actually has a very sweet event space that you can rent out to host private parties. I recently hosted a bridal shower there this past weekend and working with Andy was such a breeze! He was accommodating and gracious and the staff was warm and welcoming. We asked that they provide prosecco for us to do a mimosa bar, and they got it for us. We got their salsa, guac and chips and they were delicious! They have tons of food options, but we were also allowed to bring in some outside catered food, which was amazing to have the ability to bring in some other options! They even roped off part of the patio for our event! They recently added their provisions options, too so that expanded what we could choose from. It is a true gem of a place to host an event, and they are more than reasonably priced! I would 100% host an event here again and recommend them to anyone who is looking to host a 50-or-fewer-person event. I mean their beer is also delicious so that was a bonus!“

Live music on the weekends But we also hosted our one year olds first birthday party here! We had about 40 people. “Been coming here for years. Great vibes, I love that Socratic Society (philosophy student org) still comes here. The place is a non-profit that works on bringing awareness to human trafficking, child labor, etc. The food is always good. The staff are really nice and professional. I don't know if I've ever had their coffee. I'm more of a tea guy and they always have about two dozen teas available. I'd highly recommend to anyone really, but especially if you like tea and solid food options (crepe's, sandwiches, omelettes).“

“I was planning to go to a different downtown restaurant and walked in to this one as it started raining. The waitress took every effort to ensure our dietary requirements were taken care of. They had quite a few veggie burger options. We picked The Cool Beans, which came with a black bean and corn patty. She was quite transparent with the fact that they used the same fryer and oil for frying meat,veggie appetizers and fries. So, she substituted fries with freshly sliced avocado. The burger itself was thick and juicy. We ordered a PB& Chocolate milkshake that capped out dinner. They went out of the way to limit cross contamination. Will definitely return.“

“Wonderful old-school, Old-Maine place - "Lobsters in the Rough" like we used to have. Ambience - totally relaxed, right on the water. Food - Menu has good variety, the lobsters come in daily, cooked just right. The view across the river to Portsmouth is like no other, plus the river traffic and bridge openings, lobster boats, big ships, tugs, you name it. River breezes tend to keep things a little cooler. “I was at Aroma Joe’s the other day and I had a great experience. The girl working was so nice to me and made my drink and food so well. She even asked me about my vacation and we bonded over it and realized that we were at the same resort in the Bahamas. My hot chai was steamed to perfection and she even added my dairy free milk. She was the cutest thing I had to add a tip to her. Hats off to this lovely young woman in our society.“
