Stoneface Brewing Co. Brewery • $$
436 Shattuck Way, Newington

“Good atmosphere, typical brewery vibe. Food is good for the price. I got a Reuben and loved it. The beers are top notch. I'd recommend trip or quad clip if you're into IPAs. The wait staff was 10 out of 10. There was a mix up with our order and they made it right. Overall great experience, would recommend going here for a cheeky Sunday funday or hanging out with people you enjoy talking to (because you can actually hear them). 5 stars!“

I’ve had the Pesky 3 times each time with a different base, and it hasn’t disappointed yet. I’ve been many times and tried different apps and they are all top notch in flavor, presentation, and portion. The idea and food for Behind the Plate is unique, and the menu options are refreshing compared to most traditional sports themed restaurants.Whether you’re with the family, coworkers after a long day in the office, or looking for a good hot meal and drinks with friends for the game this is the place to go.Parking: Plenty of free parking.Kid-friendliness: There’s something for the kids too. “Everything is great, especially the rice cake appetizer (I expected Korean rice cakes like in ttekbokki, but they're little cubes of rice seared on the sides; we got them with duck but they would be just as good without it) and, obviously, the noodles. But in particular, don't sleep on the hot sauce -- Fresno chiles are one of my favorite chiles for flavor, and we got a bottle to take home and have been putting it on everything. Bonus points that the cocktails are canned and you can get them to go.“

Sat at the bar, our server Lindsey was present but not looming, helpful but not pushy and kinda funny. Cocktail menu seemed new w names like "almost summer" and a solid beer list. The menu is broad enough that there were MANY options for each of us, and the portions were average to large. Whoever said the portions were small needs to stop ordering off the kids menu. Good music that you can recognize but always in the background. Just a cool, funky joint w great food. Eat here.“

“Let me say first: A definite stop for anyone on a brewery tour! The Edison Imperial IPA has to be experienced.Aside from that. I loved the layout of this place! Divided areas offer many choices to congregate and it's well lit without feeling "clinical", which is a plus for those of us who like the looks of brews along with tastes and aromas. A shame it was drizzling that day, that outside seating area looked very inviting.“

Loaded Question Brewing Company Brewery • $
909 Islington St Suite #12, Portsmouth - 3.72 miles

“As many people do, i myself read a few online reviews about fun Brewery walks in the Portsmouth NH area. Loaded Question Brewing Company came up as a recommended walking distance brew walk. I cannot say enough great things about them. We arrived at noon, right at opening, we caught Pete as he was setting everything up, nice warm welcome, he let us meander and dawdle to see the layout, checkout the tap list. Once ready he asked if we had questions, needed suggestions. He was present but not overbearing, always checking in, and when we asked questions and queried for information about their establishment, he was nice enough to show us the brewing operation out back. giving us a private style behind the curtain tour, history of the drinks and their company. the hospitality was great, felt like a family member visiting a friend at work. The beer quality was superb! many choices on tap, sadly their sour wasn't ready yet to try, but everything from their unique and crisp coffee lager, to the porter, was just great. pale ale true to flavor and of course they had your typical style NEIPA. I wished i lived closer, as id frequent numerous times a week.we loved the food menu creativity and simplicity, granted we didn't indulge in food, but perhaps something to just accompany your beverage.Their outdoor area is quiet and peaceful, had some fun outdoor and table style games to choose from if you wanted to chill and chat while keeping the mind busy.overall a great stop, if you love breweries, this is a hidden gem, don't let the unique entrance fool you, the prize is down the hall to the left!“

The Freedom Cafe of Durham Cafe • $$
37 Main St, Durham - 5.15 miles

“Surprising, even for me that I have never reviewed Freedom Cafe because I've been going here for years. Until Covid hit we were regulars at the Wednesday night open mic, an area hotspot for students and singer songwriters to show us what they can do. The freedom Café is a nonprofit whose proceeds go towards stopping human trafficking. A serious social issue that is on the rise in the United States, it comes in many forms ranging from forced labor to sex trafficking. There is an extensive menu for a Cafe of this nature , including many different types of coffees, pastries, and crapes. The crêpes options range from sweet to savory. I've tried both and can recommend them without reservation. If you want some good coffee, good food, good atmosphere, and lots of other amenities, choose The Freedom Cafe and put your money where your mouth is. It's a good cause, there's nothing to lose and everything to gain by dropping a few bucks here.“

Great Rhythm Brewing Company Brewery • $$
105 Bartlett St, Portsmouth - 3.69 miles

“Good beer, which is obviously the idea, but i cannot get away from the feeling of it being a Starbucks style transaction. you cant talk to someone with the pure love of beer when your making a selection, no server to discuss the product. the operation is quite marvelous to see, obviously setup very well for large distribution, but the seating inside, while bright and sunny, doesn't give you a lot of room to even move about, not relax. very tight quarters.my wife and i went outside to the outside seating, which at night must be gorgeous id imagine! much more relaxed atmosphere outside.they made two incredible sours, and their IPA is great, so for those who aren't an IPA fan, they have an offering for you, but its not a huge variety on tap. They have some of their canned options available, but who goes to a live taproom style breweries for canned flats!?“

“I was given a special tasty treat today visiting Laney & Lu for the first time. This is an amazing place, very spacious with an outdoor patio, very neat and clean, plenty of parking (which is an anomaly for Portsmouth), excellent customer service and the food is delicious and divine! This is perfect combination if you want to relax and sit in and dine and or or if you want to eat quick and go but want something healthy, nourishing with high quality ingredients and taste. I had the best egg sandwich of my life, a Biscuit & Gravy Organic egg over easy with cashew mushroom gravy, walnut chorizo, spinach, micro-greens, scallion, served on gluten-free sweet potato biscuit. It was flavorful and fresh. In addition, they have an assortment of tasty and fresh pastries, designer coffee, espresso drinks and herbal teas. I had a "Macro" doughnut which was delightfully sweet, moist on the inside with a lustrous coat of sweet maple walnut glaze on the outside. I had the tea with Ashwaganda, gingko, lavender, tulsi, schisandra berries and it cleared my sinuses. Happy to have found this place, I am definitely coming back to try the rest of their menu.“

Societe Tea • $
51 Ceres St, Portsmouth - 4.09 miles

“I signed my wife and I up for a tea mixing class at Société last week. I'm not a tea drinker, but my wife absolutely loves tea. Since it was her 30th birthday, I wanted to do something special and different, which is exactly what this class was! Typically scheduled for an hour and a half, our teacher (and owner of the shop) was very thorough and engaging, which extended the program to about 2 hours. We tried 5 or so different teas of a variety of styles ranging from a cleanse, Chai, holiday special, and a black tea for some caffeine. Like I mentioned at the start, I don't drink tea...since that class, I've had 3 cups, and shared our learnings with family and friends (who also have fallen in love with the Chai we brought home). In addition to the tastings, everyone that attends the class is given a free jar of any tea they would like. When I told my wife a few days ago that I let my dad try the teas we brought home, she was (jokingly) angry that it meant she would have 1 less cup worth of tea now. Even if you don't sign up for the class, Société is a must visit for any tea drinker!!“
