Started with turkish bread (complementary) which was yum!

The Manti was the highlight for us. But the mezze platter and lamb kebab was no less - very tasty.

The dessert- instabul dreams was exceptional too but especially the warm atmosphere. Zainab and Elvan filled the place with warmth and fun conversation.

Would definitely come again just for the Manti“

“We were in the area to see Cherry Blossom Festival in the local park. We originally planned to eat at our favorite restaurant Istanbul in Clifton NJ. We got hungry and looked for close by Turkish restaurants, found this place. Absolutely loved the ambiance, food and the service. We are hooked for life. Try the Calamari for appetizer, lamb shish kababs for main entry. Food was authentic and cooked to perfection. We will be back.“

I’ve been living in the U.S. for 16 years, and the thing I’ve missed and loved the most is lahmacun. After trying it at PIDDE, I’ve never had lahmacun anywhere else again. At other places I’ve tried over the years, I always experienced heartburn afterward — but never at PIDDE.

We eat plant-based so opted for the baba ganoush appetizer and eggplant moussaka. The flavors were alive, wonderful, and deeply enjoyed.
The waiter was attentive and so kind!

They have a sweet outdoor garden space in the back but we enjoyed inside, with all the decor.

“I don't eat out often but when I do lezzet is my husband and I go to spot for some delicious turkish food. Its very clean, affordable and every one is very friendly plus they teach me turkish while im there. I very much recommend you go try the best well done food in paterson.“

When they made a mistake and forgot a side we ordered, they still brought it late and did not charge us. Then they brought us tea and baklava on the house. They want you to leave happy. “Afiyet in Cliffside Park is, unfortunately, a complete disaster for anyone trying to pretend good food no longer exists. The authentic Turkish cooking here is so outrageously good that it makes ordinary restaurant meals feel like cafeteria mistakes. Every dish tastes like it was made by someone who actually cares about flavor, tradition, and the radical concept of seasoning food properly. The meats are perfectly cooked, the breads taste like they were sent down from a higher power, and everything has that unmistakable homemade, authentic quality that ruins lesser restaurants forever.

The staff and owner are also wildly inconvenient in the sense that they are too friendly. Instead of the usual cold, robotic service you expect these days, they are warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely happy to have you there. It is almost exhausting being treated that well. You walk in expecting dinner and leave feeling like you were adopted by a very talented Turkish family.

And to make matters worse, parking is easy. No heroic search. No parallel parking Olympics. No circling the block questioning your life choices. You just show up, park, and enjoy one of the best meals around like that is somehow allowed.

Afiyet is the kind of place that completely ruins your standards. Amazing food, authentic cooking, wonderful people, and easy parking. Really inconsiderate of them to set the bar this high for everyone else.“
