“We’ve been enjoying de floret for a few years now and realized we’ve been completely remiss in writing a review — partly because we selfishly don’t want it getting so popular that we can’t get a reservation!

From the moment you walk in, you get that warm, small family-owned restaurant feel that’s become so rare these days. The owner always makes us feel genuinely welcome and consistently offers fantastic recommendations that never disappoint.

Chris the hostess was wonderful, as well as the many servers who all willingly supported Gary, the owner, to provide the best service and culinary experience possible for his dinner guests. The menu is one of the best we have seen in the area with many international dishes, some with the labor intensive Indian nuances, and others just with downright phenomenal flavors. Although they have lots of standard fare for the UNadventurous eater, I would suggest you reach past your comfort zone and try some of the appetizers that jump out as potential winners...like the tuna tartare that with just a splash of Japanese Rice wine vinegar would be one of the best I have ever had, as well as the grilled Tandoori shrimp that is marinated in yogurt, ginger, cloves nutmeg, and dried mango; the grilled lamp chops that come with three perfectly grilled meaty garlicky chops that come with mango chutney, and the Haryali chicken Tikka- three huge plump boneless breast of chicken slices that are marinated in mint, yogurt, roasted cloves, green cardamom and star anise, and served with their famous tiger sauce and salsa. We also shared another marinated shredded beef dish special that had three beef croquette-shaped mounds that had such a umami of flavors I can't even replicate it in this review, but we thought it was just great. I would be remiss if I did not mention the creamy, silky crème brûlée that we enjoyed with a glass of Prosecco; a perfect encore to the phenomenal culinary treat we had just experienced with the appetizer medley. Sharing many apps is more fun we think, than committing to one big entree, so we suggest that you dash over to the Pittstown Inn TONIGHT, and tell them Debbie and Gene sent you....ask to meet Gary, the owner, who elegantly floats from table to table, touching each to greet them and to check later on as well to see if everything was to their liking. A true host from days gone by, this owner is the real deal whose passion for the hospitality business emulates from his constant smile from the joy he is getting from making his guests happy. You see that what fuels this man to keep opening his doors from year to year, despite the many hardships and setbacks life has dealt us all over and over, is his love for you, his loyal customer. He is a rare find, so I suggest you go and treat yourself to the real deal in dining. You will not be disappointed, and be sure to ask to meet Gary. He will make your visit complete. Loved that the ingredients are clearly listed on each packet (real crab in the crab dip for those of us with shellfish allergies). Versatile flavors and makes great dips! Little pricey $30 for 7 packets but I felt it was worth it!“

“Very nice anniversary evening at the inn. We had not been there in many years. There have been a few different owners in the recent past but it still feels familiar. Different but familiar which I think is great. My friend is running the place now and seems to have put together a great team and some very nice dishes. Just last week we were texting about the inn and the menu and I mentioned the famous tomato bisque that the inn used to serve. Well not even 10 days later it’s back in the menu, which I think will be a welcome surprise to the local crowd. We are looking forward to returning.“

I enjoyed a lovely chat with Manager Bri, who was super helpful and personable. The menu was much more exciting than a typical coffee shop & offered great breakfast, brunch and lunch food and drink options.

Loved the fun decor, expansive community bulletin board, support for local artists and craftsman, and info on local nature walks and attractions.

I’ll surely be back every Saturday while I’m on Mommy-Uber duty in the Montgomery/Hopewell area! Look forward to trying their famous frittatas next time.

We drove into New Hope for dinner and chose the Havana New Hope because we heard it was a great restaurant. “The bagels aren't the same, but they're still good bagels. Place is clean. It's a bagel place. If you place a big order at a busy time, check your order. That's standard for any food establishment. Their bagels are good, I've never had bad service, nor do I expect a gala in a bagel shop. I see people with some reviews that make it abundantly clear they've never worked in food service, and perhaps should be less judgemental, and take time to be a more conscientious consumer.“
