“Uber driver mistakenly gave me someone else’s breakfast order 😡 Called Poppies and they explained and couldn’t do much because it was the driver’s fault. The ladies who answered were still kind and apologetic about it. Ended up eating the other person’s sandwich anyway lol It was good even though not what I’d ever eat. 🤎”

“The food here is sooo good. Me and my friend were recommended to come here and get something for our Halloween movie watch party. So we said why not? We were not disappointed in the slightest bit. You can smell the food down the street and the atmosphere when you walk in is 10/10. The staff inside are so nice. The portion are hefty and plentiful. The food was so delicious. I got their shrimp, fish and wings plate with fried okra, potato salad and sweet potato fries. My friend got the catfish, wings and fries plate with collard greens, candied yams and fried sweet plantains. We also decided to get their peach cobbler wings. Worth every penny.”

“The treats are divine! There are so many flavors available in their rich banana pudding (standard, strawberry, biscoff***, pistachio, cookies & cream, lemon, etc). The cake is so moist and the frosting is light and airy. The women here are so kind, bubbly, and sweet (hence the name of the shop) 💕

“Fatu’s kitchen did not disappoint! I had the potato greens with rice and my hubby had Jollof rice with chicken. The food was very tasty and hot. Our server was patient and polite and the restaurant was decent, and a lot bigger than how it looks from the outside.”

It's in the hood but a decent part. So you're good lol. They close early in the day so they aren't opened beyond like 3 pm.”

“I had the most amazing time with family and friends going to Machou tropical restaurant in East Orange, NJ. The music is great. Atmosphere comforting and safe. The staffs are amazing, friendly and professional . Machou tropical restaurant is the go to for all catering needs and services, everyone that tasted their food always gives thumbs up and requests for their contact information. Food is always phenomenal. Catering is well presentable. Guests loved it. “This place is a gem!! a must eat!! We found it through Uber Eats and ordered 1x. It was so good. The portions were amazing. Portions are like something grandma would serve her hungry kids. We visited and now I frequent it almost daily! Homefries platter is not for the faint of heart. You've got to have a hearty appetite or share it out. Grits platter...well...something of a southern treasure! Beef bacon egg and cheese sandwich is always a perfect on the run, goodie! We tried the shrimp over rice and that was nice. Chicken over rice was even better as it had a slight kick to it. And again, no matter what you order, bring a healthy appetite cause you're gonna need it and a long nap, after! These guys are amazing!! Truly! They're sweet! They're efficient! They can throw down on that gril!! Yummmmm Oh...and if you've never had it, their lemon ginger drink is amazeballs!! This place really is a gem in the middle of a jungle 😆 Visit them and be kind! Far too many ppl are not kind or feel entitled to speak to them ill mannered. Please don't! These guys really are good people and their food speaks for itself. Thank you gentlemen for always providing the best!!”

“I'm always happy to shop black 🖤 owned 😁 the team you have on Monday July 21 at 8pm need a raise they was super fast and extremely polite. I purchased the largest chocolate gelato they have. I purchased an apple pie confetti and also a strawberry 🍓 gelato as instructed from before, the boss man said I could always call the order in as per his instructions. So I tried it out this day and it worked perfectly I'm happy he vetted his staff to bring customers joy into their life even though everybody doesn't. Have a great day. They can bring a smile to that person's face. This is what customer service and customer relations is all about, especially in a small community like East Orange I lived in East Orange for about 25 years and have been a journalist and reporter for about 7 yrs this was a great 👍🏿 experience especially with this new generation, you usually don't get this kind of service with this new generation most of them are usually rude and belligerent and it's not a skin color. “They make real jerk chicken! ON THE GRILL! Tasted it with one meal and I bought more to take home so my family know it’s the real deal… definitely coming back and often 😇 additionally! They have 2 very friendly cashiers/servers which is usually hard to find. Met the owner and he also seems to be a nice guy… I don’t write reviews often unless I received bad service but today it is the opposite! People nice and food nicer! 🥰”

“This place serves delicious food. My nephew turned us on to it. We ordered 4 different breakfast selections and all of it was so good. I had the fish and grits- DELICIOUS ?. I also have enjoyed their health drinks. Please try the Pineapple Ginger and the Sorrel. If you like ginger you will enjoy how they have incorporated the spice of ginger. So good for your health. The husband and wife are so kind and inviting. You won't be disappointed in the food or service.”

“Been here a few times. Maybe the people too lazy to come inside a restaurant to eat need to stop complaining about their orders. If you want something quick go to a fast food. If you want quality then you need to learn some patience. When ordering inside the restaurant Mr. Benson really takes his time. He even had brought our fresh cut watermelon while we waited. His food portions are huge. You get great service when you sit to eat! Food is tasty and cannot complain.
