“I had an amazing experience here. The food is truly authentic and tastes like real home-cooked Jamaican meals. The curry goat is exceptional—perfectly seasoned, tender, and full of flavor. The rice and peas with the brown rice was absolutely amazing and paired perfectly with the meal.

What also stood out was the service. The staff is patient, welcoming, and very helpful. They take the time to explain the dishes if you have questions and are incredibly flexible and accommodating. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and the experience they provide.

Everything was perfect from the food to the service. If you are looking for authentic Jamaican cuisine and great hospitality, I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be coming back.

“I’m so happy I came across this Jamaican restaurant! Every dish here is freshly prepared. Not sure who the chef is here, but give that man a raise! Lol….authentic Jamaican food is definitely a big plus for this location. They give you many options aside from their famous rice and peas with a side of chicken. They also have a variety of soups on their menu. Their prices are very fair and for that reason I will definitely be back, and this time for some good ol’ oxtails! The establishment is very clean, and the staff is very polite. Only bad thing I can say is, why didn’t I come here sooner!!!! Guys keep up the great work. You’ve gained a repeat customer. “both food and ambiance is great! one of my regular lunch and dinner spots. Staff is very kind and generous. try their desserts and fresh juices too, that pineapple ginger will make you feel brand new.“

“First off, I want to say that I never planned on stopping in. I was in the area because I was touring and Dean greeted me with a smile and a wave from the window. When I came back around and let him know I was interested in the menu options, he started tell me about his discounts and promotions. Unfortunately most of those things were meet, and I'm vegetarian so I asked if he had any vegetarian options and that I was hoping for patty and plantain.

He told me he did have callaloo+ kale and an ackee patty. He made them himself, and even gave me a complimentary drink. I chose sorrel, one of my favorite drinks growing up.

He packed them neatly and gave me some extra bag so I could carry it, and when I finally got to the house I was able to take a bite of each patty. At least I planned it to just be a bite.

When I tell you the flavors, the creaminess, the reminder of home just slap me in the tongue! I was in heaven. The sorrel was surprisingly sweet and delicious and I had to force myself to stop drinking it so fast. If I hadn't been so hungry and the food wasn't so good. I would have some pictures to show y'all, when I say I tore that food UP. I did not get paid for this, he did not ask me to write a review, but the food was just so.dang.good.

“Came in around 8pm after worked, tired from work, didn’t want to travel for my normal place I go for my west Indian food , I find this little gem and ordered to my dietary standards, got curry goat and all veggies and food was fresh tasting and very well seasoned and tender, was a bit surprised as I don’t like trying new places , definitely will be back to try different menu options, service is great and a welcoming atmosphere.. Highly recommended“

“I have been going to Alice’s for about 5 years now. I am so happy with the food especially the stew peas jerk chicken curry goat and oxtails. Even when I was trying to lay off the rice for a bit they would try to accommodate me if they had extra food (yam etc) left over from breakfast to substitute for the rice. Whenever I have visitors I get them food from there. Even persons from Jamaica love his food especially the Jerk chicken. The owners are very kind. Give this place a try you won’t be disappointed. Oh and a nice surprise is that he uses oxtails in his stew peas meal 😬“

“This place has in this town for 28 years, there is a reason why they have been around so long. The owner is this wonderful sweet lady that, she is definitely Jamaican be a those Pattie’s hit different. The oxtails are succulent and falls off the bones, the plantain’s are sweet and crispy on the edges. If you’re looking for delicious Jamaica food go here, always call before you go because she starts cooking in the morning and at times the food isn’t ready until after 12pm but it’s very much worth the wait. ????The prices are very reasonable but those Pattie’s are to die for.“

I've been to so many west Indian spots in East Orange and Newark and it's been horrible. Brooklyn NY has the best Jamaician food but now this spot takes the crown! ( I had the breakfast)“

“I love this place. The food is always hot and fresh. Every time I have come to this restaurant I was pleased with the food served. The part that keeps me coming back is not just the food. One morning, I got there at the time of opening. There was a woman praying and she would not open that door til she finished her prayer. Then she proceeded to wipe the place down with Florida. I am not Christian but, I respect that highly. This restaurant is also extremely clean. No matter what time I come into this restaurant, it is always clean. Always. It is best to come when you are not in a rush.“
