“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.“
“Delicious & great service! We loved Esca but this was also v delicious & v healthy. Room is pretty. The bar is not as cozy & stylish as it was in its former iteration but overall we will be back & wish them great success! Great space & option including while in the theatre district, Sony Hall, etc;))“
“If we could give 10 Stars we would. A magical and unforgettable night. Impeccable service from the moment you step into the entrance, it felt like a different world. The food was superb, presentation a dream but what made the night was the service! Professional, cheeky and attentive, Ricardo and Mynor are an attentive dream team. The hero of the night were the desserts by the Pastry Maestro Shaun and his team. We are incredibly grateful to have experienced a night at Restaurant Daniel.Vegetarian options: A dream and so creative!Dietary restrictions: The team is so informed and flexible when it comes to dietary restrictions“
“Had a fabulous meal here with friends eating in warm and attractive outside seating. The crisp roast lamb (actually lamb neck cooked like osso bucco but with Middle Eastern spices) was one of the best meat dishes I’ve eaten in years. Really, a piece of art!! Go savor some!“
“Excellent food and service. I am a visitor in NYC and was referred to the restaurant by friends who had all good things to say about their experience. We are so happy we went there for dinner. The duck was delicious. The pasta was delicious, the sauce was sooo good. We will be back again. Definitely would recommend this restaurant. As an added plus, Gabriele greets his customers, and that made it extra special when he checked in on our table.“
“I had the 15-course Chef tasting menu for $135. Although it may seem a bit steep for a food court, this is a high end food court (spacious and spotless, surrounded by luxurious hotels and exclusive galleries), and they're serving premium ingredients. Just four of these courses on their own (Madai with Beet and Mandarin; Hiramasa with Golden Osetra; Lobster with Kombu; Eel with Foie Gras) if put on a bigger plate and served on white table clothes could make up a prix fixe worth $135, but because this is a casual food court, you get a lot of "bang for your buck." The only thing that prevented me from being completely comfortable here was the very loud music overhead, very hectic, very frenzied, WOOF.“
“I hosted 25 people here, in the back patio, and Avoca was fantastic. So accommodating, allowed everyone to have separate tabs, got the heaters out, and lent us speakers (it was a trivia night). The food and drinks are excellent (get the truffle fries and the Smokey Oaxaca cocktail!), and the service truly could not have been better. The vibe inside is swanky but chill, cozy and also a little fancy, not like a pub. Avoca is definitely one of my fave UES bars and restaurants.“
“Bomb bulgogi with the accentuated marinade. Soy marinated raw crab that was surprisingly eat to eat. Kim cold noodle soup. All with great execution. If I could nitpick, it'd be that the space is a bit brighter than I'd like, but that kind of the Junho Choi style. All good. This place is the real deal and my meal was just hit after hit.“
“amazing food. I recommend all my friends here. What I had the last time I went... App - Curry Puff - Thai dumpling Entree - Red curry beef - Khao soi nua Drink - Thai ice tea - Pi-lin (Mocktail) Dessert - Banana sticky rice You HAVE to try this place.“
“It’s a pre booze place I would say amazingly cheap drinks the beers are standard but other drinks are dirt cheap.. the place is small but it really gets crowded on the weekends like no place to stand kinda crowded.. they always have a $5 shots which can get you drunk super easily and they do have a jukebox for music… only the service is a little slow coz of the crowd“
“Had an amazing happy hour experience with Break Bar. The bartender Brandon was attentive and very comfortable to talk to. Every drink was made with care and I truly enjoyed every drink I had. I would recommend coming here if you want amazing service and a release of your emotions at the end when you get to smash your glass.“
“Enjoyed all of our meals. Some of the prixe fixe items were not on a la carte menu. Since we had no show to attend and not everyone wanted dessert, we were able to mix and match. Desserts of espresso panna cotta and bread pudding were the best we've ever had.“
“I cannot state enough just how delicious the food is here !!! Soooooooooo good !! Everything was full of soo much flavor and the steak had to have been one of the best cooked steaks I’ve ever had perfect temp and seasoning. It’s pretty inside and perfect to go for a date night the ambiance is nice. Definitely recommend this place“
“Food and beverages are a bit pricey, and their happy hour is very limited. The oysters are about $2.50 each. Beverages and cocktails are about $2.00 less during happy hour. What made our experience nice was the friendly server. She was full of good cheer. There were a few families with children, so the place felt warm and welcoming.“
“The food was amazing. I had rigatoni with broccoli and shrimp. My friend had chicken parmesan. The portions are really substantial. We started with the meatball and fried mozzarella appetizers and were full by the time the entrées arrived. The waiter was informative and the staff was on top of their game. Very attentive. Most important, we ordered drinks, I had a gin and ginger with lime and I must tell you that the bartender was not stingy.. We had a good time and I'm definitely going back.“
“My husband and I were in town last week, we were walking around and decided to stop by as the menu looked appealing. We had no reservation so I was a bit worried, however when I asked the hostess if there was room for us she was super accommodating and sweet and made us feel very welcome. I didn’t get her name but she was really tall and well dressed. We will definitely be visiting again next time we are in town!!“
“I still think about my Jimmy's experience when I was last in New York. This place is one of the safest, kindest and entertaining spaces I've ever been to. Shout-out to all the amazing bar staff and all the amazing people we met there! Only time I've ever been at a bar and stayed for 5hrs+. Also can't beat the cheap prices! So much heart and soul in this place and I can't recommend it enough.“
“100% SOLD ALL. THE. TIME. This is my go-to spot when I want to have something a little special and the price point fits within my budget. No matter the dish, it always hits the spot and I'm always pleased that I'm paying for a dish that isn't outrageous compared to other restaurants in the area that are serving similar items. I also appreciate the service - everyone is friendly ans offers great suggestions. Specials are always worth visiting again and again. GO!!“
“Another fantastic dinner at PS Kitchen. Highly recommend the Thai Chili wings, crabby cakes and Brussel Sprouts. Our table also had the Linguini Alfredo, Cesar wrap and the Thai Sweet Chili Sandwich. We didn’t like the pretzel bun but otherwise everything was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed. Staff are friendly and we did not feel rushed. Will definitely be coming again and highly recommend.“
“I have been wanting to try Monkey Bar for quite some time. We finally were able to go this past Saturday. I want to start off by saying first off all the ambiance and decor is incredibly unique and beautiful.Secondly everyone from manager Jonathan who went over and beyond to our waiter and the bus boy Ash was kind, personable, and so attentive. Our meal was delicious, I loved that they did not rush for us to put in the entire order. They truly allowed us to take our time and enjoy the night. We had delicious oysters, King crab rangoon, Steak tartar (so so fresh) & the truffle monkey bread is an honorable mention. The drinks as well were AMAZING & delicious. For main course the pork chops in that incredible sauce was savory and so tender.Truffle tagliatelle, creamy fresh pasta super good if you don’t want meatWe will definitely be back the hospitality was really top notch here.Thank you so much for a beautiful evening.“
“SEARCH NO MORE for your next intimate & fun party venue! CHARLIE'S, The Bonnie's sister bar right next door was everything I dreamed of and more for my 30th Birthday party. Let me set the scene for ya'll... 35 of my closest friends, Game of Thrones themed decor & fits, cocktails that made everyone say "I drink and I know things" and the most fire food in the neighborhood... the party was a SLAY. Tali, the company's event coordinator, is the sweetest, most hard-working, and detail-oriented, especially when it comes to your event. She even went above and beyond to surprise me with a GOT themed menu by naming my cocktails after details of life. For example, she named the spicy margarita after my dog, "Kevyn the Kingslayer." COME ON! How amazing is that?!Speaking of cocktails... the incredible bartender, Olivia, bartended Red Witch magic with the amazing cocktails she made for everyone. She even dressed along with the theme, with her sword, serving vibes that was giving Night's Watch combined with Red Keep of the Bar. Everyone kept raving about every cocktail she made with style and care. When it comes to the food, The Bonnie always delivers, so of course my hopes were high for Charlie's. AND MY HOPES WERE MET! The ham and cheese toastie platter was delicious. The franks in a blanket were some of the best I've ever had. The beef sliders were a HUGE hit. And there were veggie options so we had the veggie quesadilla and the mac and cheese bites which were a crowd favorite.Overall, this party at Charlie's made me feel like Daenerys Targaryen on top of her Throne, like the Queen that was promised. Thank you to the Bonnie's manager Gerard for popping in to see if everything was going smoothly as well! That was so sweet. To The Bonnie/Charlie's staff - Tali, Olivia, Gerard, barbacks - Marvin & Pascual, and the talented chefs/kitchen staff, thank you so much! Your hospitality is EPIC!“
“Just visited with my family of four, and we loved it. There was food for everyone to enjoy, and the food was delicious. We ordered different things to share, so we could try more things. You have to order a Khatchapuri! It's a must! We had Aragvi salad- absolutely delicious! The kids chose crepes with meat and kginkali, both finished to the last crumb! We had egplant rolls , pirk mtsvadi and potatoes with mushrooms to share, everything was so good! We all were full and very satisfied. The waiters check in, making sure everything is good and super nice. To add on all of that the place was beautiful and so pleasant. Me and my family highly recommend this restaurant.“
“AMAZING EXPERIENCEThe hostess and manager were kind enough to seat us despite a late arrival a few minutes after the kitchen was scheduled to close. This superior hospitality was our theme throughout the evening. The server ANFERNEE was prompt, professional, and polite while attending all of our needs. TEXAS-sized portions reminded us back home. Delicious food, tasty cocktails, and wonderful music made this a night to remember.Vegetarian options: The jerk cauliflower was spicy and delicious. The asparagus was roasted to perfection. The mashed potatoes were buttery, creamy goodness.“
“The food is normally for a swanky NYC location. The service is impeccable!!! Please go for the feel and the vibe. Such a wonderful place to dine. I recommend the pigs in a blanket, fries, and coconut cake. The burger was normal, and there is a quinoa burger for vegetarians. It wasn’t dry, but it was a little mushy when means it’s hand made! Overall, I think you should try it! The majority of the high pricing comes from the alcohol, expect to pay a premium. Oh, and I loved the calamari.Wheelchair accessibility: They have an elevator! The space is a little tight, so when making your reservation, you need to let them know.“
“I pass the Penrose frequently, a block from the 2nd Ave Q entrance on 83rd. It is a perfect spot to meet up after work for drinks and snacks. Good music, friendly atmosphere. I tell everyone, my husband and I had brunch with our wedding party there. Great place. Recently my dad passed, and when trying to decide where to celebrate his life with extended family and friends my sister and I decided on The Penrose and emailed the events manager Chaya. She helped with everything, never got tired or short with her answers. We would think of all our questions after we signed off. Chaya made recommendations, helped our ideas come to life, and made a difficult moment easy. Day of memorial: Chaya and her team created the perfect atmosphere. Our server Emma and bartender Audrey were exceptional. The guests kept telling us what great service, atmosphere and food, but repeated to us how great the servers were. We had 30 people, in the back area with tables and bar seating. Chaya helped us choose the right amount of food, and beverages. Emma kept the area clean with out being intrussive, Audrey kept us “hydrated”. We had a buffet food area - food was great! They put to go boxes out for guest to take treats home. Thanks to Chaya we were able to truly celebrate dad, she had his play list, which we provided pumped in and a slide show with his great life moments on the screen over the bar. He served in WWII, a decorated war hero, with great taste in music. They also insured the Honor Guard ceremony, presenting flag and playing of taps went off seamlessly. As I said in my first paragraph The Penrose is a great place, but on this day it was exceptional. Chaya, Emma, and Audrey turned my dads celebration of life into a warm family moment that we will remember fondly and proudly. Thank you Chaya, Emma, and Audrey! If missed names for behind the scenes peeps sorry.“
“It was my first time at Prohibition... I live on the east side and cannot believe we have never been there! The atmosphere is casual with adult audience and amazing music (last night's opening act was a solo artist playing bluesy jazz and he had a great voice!). The food was good and the service was amazing! Dave the manager was especially helpful as I accidentally deleted my Resy invite and he reinstated us minutes later. I will definitely be back with friends. I wish there was something like this on the east side!“
“2/29/24 First impressions are a plus for me. Had lunch with a friend today and I have no complaints. Loved the ambience, service, decor, music and food. I love the food presentation which made it mor appealing and appetizing. Our waitress was Marina she was very friendly, attentive and professional and the staff in general were wonderful. Will return and recommend.Mattie“
“Nice restaurant. Portion is just right not too large. Taste is not overwhelming too. The dishes, decor, utensils all are aesthetic. I had northern Thai soup with pickle and pork blood cube. The flavor is very shrimpy similar to my Viet dish bun rieu. Dat dish had a bit too much meat overcooked. My accompanies had pad Thai and pineapple fried rice, I think are safer choice. I also have tried fried tofu with peanut sauce and tom kha soup which are all good.“
“It’s called pocket bar for a reason! Super intimate space for conversation and meeting new people. Popcorn is a great snack and the drinks are perfect for a quick before or after show treat! Bartender was polite, receptive and kept the place orderly.“
“My group had a great time at Sweet Afton. We went there on a Wednesday evening (7PM). We booked reservations through Resy, but was able to find a great table when we got there. Our server was very cool and gave us pretty good tips on food to order, was okay with asking the chef for modifications to our order, and was attentive to our needs.I always have a good time at Sweet Afton, so happy to say that the service and food/drinks are staying consistently well.“
“Came here on a Friday night around 7 and the bar area on the first floor was packed. We were seated on the second floor which also had a crowded bar area. The waiter was super friendly and recommended us the Korean steak sandwich and fried fish burger which were a nicely sized and flavored. The thin fries were great. Make sure you ask for chipotle mayo and hot sauce! 2000’s playlist brought me back to memories. The 18th hazy ipa paired well with the main dishes“
“A great experience overall, with no complaints really! This was my second time here and it’s still just as good. Unless money comes easy to you, this isn’t a casual eatery in my opinion (perhaps lunch though, as I’ve only ever been here for dinner). It’s definitely not cheap but for a special occasion it is a wonderful treat. The cocktails are all Broadway themed which I think is fun, and the one I had was packed with fresh, muddled fruit which was delicious. For food, I can’t recommend enough the goat cheese and pistachio soufflé, so tasty!! I also get the steak frites which is always solid in my book. My other guests enjoyed their crusted branzino and chicken with lemon and sage; two other solid choices. My mother in law had the meatloaf which she said she enjoyed but was perhaps slightly too sweet for her taste. Although, admittedly, her tolerance for anything sweet is notably low, so interpret that how you will. And for dessert the banana split was outrageously good, especially the caramelized banana and toasted marshmallow. The only thing I would change there would be to swap out the scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate flavor, as the strawberry clashed a bit in my opinion.Again, this place is wonderful and I can’t wait until I can afford to go back and try other things on their menu.“
“We can't wait to return. Everything was excellent. It was like I imagine The Bear would be. People were friendly; Kyle, Lala, Jeremy, all the beautiful people who brought the food to our table, and made the experience magical. Kudos to all!“
“I never write reviews but I had to make the exception for Bar Room. I came in on a whim for the first time last year and have been returning as often as possible. Siobhan the bartender has been great ! She makes amazing cocktails and even better conversation. What I tell my friends is come for the drinks, stay for the bartenders. With a combination of staff and amazing drinks this will be my regular spot for a long time.“
“This is the perfect hotel in the perfect location. Close to Times Square and Broadway, shopping and restaurants! The staff is amazing. All are friendly and helpful. Great food and drinks. The rooms are clean, comfortable and stylish. I’ve found my New York hotel!“
“Hands down the best hidden gem in NYC. Entertainment is all around you when you walk in the door. Cocktails are phenomenal due to an elevated menu and all the ingredients you never knew you wanted to experience. Can’t wait to visit next trip.“
“Awesome Sichuan spot on the west side that’s got a nice vibe and serves up some great food. Come hungry - the dishes are all on the larger side and it’s easy to over order, which we did - but for the price I’m not complaining. My favorite was the fish filets with green peppercorns which was fire! It was spicy, which I love, but for those more timid they do warn you about the spicy dishes. The mapo tofu was also really good though they serve it vegetarian without the minced pork more typical in China. I’d definitely come back though to explore more of the menu.“
“It was date night!!! Double date night that is. My close boy and I planned a secret double date with our significant other. They did not know it was a double until we met up at the door of Salvaje social club. let me just say the ambiance did not disappoint at all, the wild jungle theme had me loving every minute of my walk in and stay. Throughout the night the smoke machine would random blow smoke give the place a misty look. The music was pumping all night long and kept us in an upbeat vibe. The selection of music was mainly Spanish music, they did sprinkle in some English music but for most the night it was reggaeton etc. Although I didn't understand what was being said I surely loved the beat of every song that played. The staff at salvaje was very quick, informative of the menu, polite and friendly. We started off with the seeds of passion which was very tasty and strong. We did two rounds of that drink, couldn't get enough of it lol. I then had a Hennessy and pineapple juice , I don't know what pineapple juice was used but it was so good along with the Hennessy. For starters we had the shrimp toastadas and let me tell you it was amazing , I highly recommend it. Two of us ordered the Milton's rice and the other two ordered chicken on the cut. The rice was well fried and seasoned along with the shrimp, it was just a bit salty but i still loved it, the food really did not let me down at all. We stuck around after eating to drink more and dance a bit during our stay. I'll give Salvaje a 10/10 for vibes 10/10 for drinks 9/10 for Food 10/10 for service 10/10 for ambiance“
“Ambiance and service 5/5. We had the absolute sweetest server who told us about being a singer songwriter and his creative experiences during COVID. He was just so nice and friendly and waited on us with such care even though we were only there for apps and drinks. Outside seating was lovely on a spring day! Food 5/5 for what we ordered but I wasn't in love with the menu options (4/5) and prices ($$-$$$). I absolutely loved the zucchini fries which came out piping hot and moist inside and a yuzu aioli dipping sauce which is why I had ordered it. My friend I dined with us a chef and he was impressed. We also got the broccolini, a classic dish, which was delicious. Mocktails 4/5 - we came to drink mocktails as both of us were not drinking. We were surprised to find a robust mocktail list; my friend got the phony Negroni and he sipped on his. I got this peach puree ginger mocktail which was delicious but not a large portion for $14. I would like to try some of the other mocktails if I come again. It's right by Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle, so I could see how it's a great location to meet up before another activity.“
“A destination for Steak in NYC. Need a place for a business dinner, a celebratory night out, or have a large party? I don’t think I could recommend a better dining experience in the neighborhood. Steaks are incredible and beautifully presented. Cooked to perfection. Eat family style, get the Cote de Boeuf, get the sides, get the dessert. It’s that kind of place. Over the top is what you should be doing. I hate Lobster Mac & Cheese, it ruins lobster. Patroon’s Lobster Mac & Cheese is a delight. The Brussels sprouts are best I’ve had ever. Tart tatin is incredible. A must get.And then the steaks. Filet mignon is too lean for me normally, at Aretsky’s Patroon is perfection. The Cote de Boeuf is immaculate and of course they present it, then slice it.Some of the nicest service staff and ownership who swung by and was beyond gracious.Forgot to mention cocktails were 10/10 good too. My party complimented the wine, although I didn’t drink it.Amazing. Worth a trip.“
“They offer a packaged deal for two, so I booked the dinner and a view for my boyfriends birthday. Granted, it was raining so hard that night, 3-9-2024, but it was still a great time . Great food and drinks the service was awesome and the staff is top tier. Helpful and sweet.“
“BEST OMAKASE IN NYC. The quality here is as good as it gets. The service is incredible always. The chefs are extremely talented and accommodating. The fish they have is always fresh and different. They do have speciality fish some nights which you can try. The price is more than fair you truly get what you pay for here. The experience is always 10/10.“
“Fabulous! You could spend so much money in here and never feel unhappy about it. Totally vegan it's actually quite large with lots of places to sit and just plants everywhere. if I had more money, I would buy myself every single plant and item they have here. lovely food, lovely staff, highly recommend! please support your neighborhood, vegan place.“
“Came here on a cold Wednesday night and absolutely was blown away by their ramen. Specifically the Tabata ramen was top notch!! On the menu it notes that the Tabata ramen is spicy but it is not (I don't tolerate spicy foods well so was hesitant to order). It was amazing and the service was quick and friendly. I usually like trying different ramen places every time I get it but will definitely return and make this an UES staple restaurant for me!“
“I had dinner with friends, and it turned out to be a positive experience overall. We decided to order all the appetizers on the menu and paired them with Chianti wine, which I highly recommend. Among the starters, the calamari and cacio e pepe stood out as the best, but all of them were quite good. For the main course, I opted for a NY strip steak, which was ok but nothing out of the ordinary. We concluded our meal with a tiramisu that was large and delicious, easily shareable between two people. The ambiance of the place was very charming, and the service was good. It's a spot I'd recommend for a lovely dinner out, especially if you're looking to explore a variety of appetizers and enjoy a relaxed, tasteful setting.“
“I only had the mozzarella sticks but they were probably best I've had... I really wonder if they're made in- house or store brought.Enjoyed the setup and the very attentive room service, everyone was very nice and friendly. The drinks were good!“
“we were celebrating my friend's birthday and our server Nahid N was amazing!!! he went above and beyond to make sure everything was good from the drinks to to the food to our cake and birthday song. he made my friends very nice and very special and that's all I can ask for. it was a 10/10 experience and the food was amazing and the atmosphere too. Nahid N you are a star :)“
“We went out last Thursday with our friends for an omakase experience in the wonderful place.Located in the heart of the Times Square. There are two restaurants there so dont get confused when entering.Plenty of street (if you lucky) and indoor parking.Seating available by the window or even at chef’s table to watch them cook. All sushi were very unique and tasty. I even ate uni (which i typically dont like)..Drinks were plenty and based on a fact that everyone kept ordering more (i dont drink) - they must have been good.Service was pleasant and not overbearing with “do you want another drink”A la carte menu available if you are not interested in omakase. Prices are very reasonable as compared to similar places in far less busy and popular locations.Check them out.“
“Bathroom not in restaurant in hotel connected to it in basement. Good was very good but some of the pasta not as authentic as everyone hoped. Seafood was great and fish was great. Waiters were great. Wine fantastic with god recommendations.“
“The new location is Englewood is beautiful! We went for our first visit and we're so pleasantly delighted with the new selection of foods & excellent service. Pictured is the Goodfellas Sushi Roll with spicy yellowtail and lemon. A must try! So fresh and delicious. The sushi pizza was a fun take on spicy tuna. My absolute favorite were the soup dumplings, they are made fresh to order, so be patient, as they take about 20 minutes. The best I've ever had! Steamed to perfection. I had the green tea but I wanna try the Lychee Martini next time as we will for sure be coming back.“
