“We started going to this restaurant just last year and our server at that time Alexis really took great care of us. Ever since then we fell in love with the place. We always requested for Alexis but last night we had a different server named Eric and he was also very great and very attentive. The host stand, server, and the manager really made my boyfriend and I 9 year anniversary dinner special and we couldn't be any happier. The food was amazing and we always get the 22 oz prime bone in ribeye and the truffled Mac and cheese and it has been our go to meal and of course they have the most amazing oysters! They have a great variety of specialty drinks and wines that pairs very well with the food. This is a very highly recommended place and they have gained new regulars!“

“Jack's Surf & Turf in Montclair, NJ, is our absolute favorite spot! This hidden gem in Montclair is a must-visit. Over the years, we've celebrated countless Girls' night-out birthdays here, and it never disappoints. From the moment you arrive until the time you leave, every detail is perfect. Greg, the owner, is incredibly welcoming and attentive; he treats us like family. Keeps our wine glasses full, and ensures we feel valued while also attending to other valued guests. The vibe is truly inviting, fabulous, super amazing & memorable! The menu offers a wonderful, wide variety of fresh and expertly cooked seafood, seafood boils, grilled steaks, salads, soups, OMG lobster mac & cheese, burgers, tacos, and scrumptious desserts! Everything is delicious, and the prices are more than reasonable, outstanding value! Highly recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends. You can BYOB; however, their wine selection is impressive as well. Generous portions, secure parking, and impeccably clean restrooms. Servers are always friendly and accommodating, happily fulfilling special requests. Nice music and occasional live entertainment enhance the experience. The Millburn, NJ, location is equally fantastic! We always start with our favorite Arugula salad - generous portions. House salad, also incredible! We adore Garlic Old Bay Shrimp appetizers, fried calamari, crab cakes, BUTTERY lobster rolls, OMG!. For our entrées, we couldn't resist going all in! Seafood Linguine in Garlic Sauce, steamed clams, mussels, grilled salmon, and lobster tails with crabmeat stuffing (seasonal). If you don't see something on the menu that piques your interest, just ask your server if they can prepare it for you. What impresses me most is Greg's attention to detail, passion, and creativity in delivering exceptional, high-quality food, ensuring each guest feels welcome and appreciated. “The trout is the best in the area. The servers can be unprofessional and rude. When asked to tie back their hair, the request was refused. A nonsense response of not required was insulting. As an experienced service trainer, the hair in question should have been restraining. Health department requirements override a servers vain attitude.“

We visited for a family gathering and were shown to a private room; the service was attentive, and they kept refilling the delicious side dishes.
The sashimi was fresh, as was all the seafood. There was a wide variety of tasty accompanying dishes, and the staff were all friendly.
The aged kimchi was particularly outstanding—the assorted sashimi paired with it was truly delicious.
The portions were so generous that they even packed up the spicy fish stew for us to take home.
It was a truly enjoyable and delicious meal.

“First time entering this location actually, the waitress Lakaiya I believe that was her name was very nice and helpful, food and service was great, and of course, my favorite appetizers are the "Cheddar Bay Biscuits" now, as for the ambience and overall environment of the restaurant, it has a low key vibe and very inviting, has a warm feel to it, the waiters and waitresses try their best to provide their services for their customers, as well as the chefs that cook and prepare their food, I do recommend this location though, I also like the music selection on the radio's overhead, nicely done...“

“From the moment we walked in, the host greeted us like old friends and walked us right to our table — I instantly had a good feeling, and I was right. Our server was awesome — super friendly, knew the menu inside out, and was on top of everything all night.

The menu is classic Italian but with a twist — way more interesting than your standard North Jersey Italian spot. The ossobuco was fantastic (if I had to nitpick, I’d say the risotto could’ve used a touch less water and a heavier hand with the parm). The clams were fresh and baked to perfection, and my son devoured his ravioli. For dessert, the bread pudding was absolutely unreal — honestly worth the trip alone.

Still worth a visit, although I would just stick to the seafood until they start tightening up the sides with more experience cooking soul food staples.

“Had a fantastic experience at Rudy’s in Cliffside Park. This is exactly the kind of old-school neighborhood Italian restaurant that feels like a true local institution. Rudy’s is especially known for its seafood, and the fried calamari is definitely something worth trying. They also have plenty of other great options, from chicken and eggplant parmigiana to baked clams, seafood pasta, linguini with clams, and other Italian favorites.

What really stood out to me was the people. The ownership was a pleasure to talk to, and I really enjoyed the conversation. You can tell there’s a genuine sense of pride in Rudy’s and in the community they’ve been serving for so long.

Overall, Rudy’s is a fantastic Cliffside Park staple. Great Italian food, great seafood, a cozy neighborhood atmosphere, and wonderful people behind the business. Definitely worth checking out!“
