“My fiancé and I recently moved to the area and have enjoyed trying the local food. We were excited to try this spot after hearing so much about it and we really enjoyed our experience. The food was amazing and we loved our server. We can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu!“
“The Love. Umm, yes please. The vibe. The food. The staff. All great.I went for a solo dinner while in town for a conference. I initially wanted to get the fried chicken with grits and collards but my Server mentioned the special for the night, the ribeye with macaroni & cheese and said he’d go with the ribeye. So I did! It was a double the price but I was out of town and why not treat myself to a steak! It did not disappoint, so so good. Unfortunately I had a bit of a headache so I didn’t have a cocktail but the iced tea was good. ? I live in Atlanta, so hopefully I’ll be back soon enough to try out a drink. I had a lovely meal and it was pretty busy Sunday night. I guess it’s a popular spot.“
“Delicious food, service and ambiance!!!The ricotta ravioli was one of my favorites dishes! Our waiter Matt was very polite and very careful to accommodate my needs (allergy to peppers). He did make sure to tell me what I could eat or not from the menu.Definitely we will be back as well we will recommend this place with eyes closed!Highly recommend!!!!“
“Great restaurant. My server was kind and gsve great suggestions based off of my likes.Wheelchair accessibility: This place is not wheelchair accessible as there is not a ramp to avoid the steps to the front door and tables are placed closely together.“
“Definitely the best meal I've had in a while. I sat at the bar and felt welcomed like I was in someone's home. The bartender was attentive but gave us space. I had the ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. Would recommend to a friend and absolutely return.“
“Customer service was exceptional. Seating area was a bit small but everyone was so friendly and worked as a team. Honestly the best service I ever had. I went for restaurant week and ordered the shrimp creole. Omg I cleaned my plate and was still salivating over the idea of more when I got home. My partner ordered the crab soup and the salmon. Eyes rolled in the back of his head y’all. Everything was so well and for my first time they left a lasting impression. Would definitely dine here again. I’m just disappointed the shrimp creole isn’t on the regular menu.“
“First time at River Twice.Met up with some favorite friends from my American Water days. Interesting approach to a menu. There was a $75 fixed tasting menu and then a set of optional extras. I went with the soft shell crab special and everyone else did the burger (since we specifically came on burger Monday). This is a cozy small restaurant in the heart of Philly. We were seated at the counter and were able to watch the food prep. Pretty cool. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding.Plenty of food to satisfy your hunger in the tasting menu alone, but I am glad we added the extras. The starter was raw Maine scallops in a crème sauce.Unbelievably good! This was followed by the NJ sushi rice with smoked steelhead.Well made, filling, and slightlyunremarkable. The mackerel, steamed cabbage and sweet potato made up for it with a perfect bite of these three ingredients! My soft shell crab was very unusual, in a good way, with an interesting creamy sauce and pickled onions. The burger was outstanding!! Lots of nuanced flavors going on. Finally, the winter citrus creamsicle was fun, creative, light, and the perfect ending to a super cool dining experience. Highly recommend River Twice for the adventurous eater!“
“Celebrated our 5th anniversary here tonight while visiting Philly. Beautiful ambiance and impeccable service. Rebecca our server was kind, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our experience great. We did the Chef’s which was seasonal, thoughtful and delicious. Each serving was creative and intriguing. Compliments to Chef Kevin McWilliams. If you live in or near the Philly area please give this place a try!“
“I enjoyed dining at Her Place, I definitely felt like I was having a meal in someone's home. The restaurant is tiny and every table has a view of the kitchen. I dined by myself so I was placed at one of the two window seats. My back was toward the kitchen and I had to turn around each time the chef was describing the dishes. The menu wasn't something I would have normally chosen for myself, it was very seafood focused but it was all around tasty. The main dish was a quail and morels. My favorites of the night were the chicken liver pate with radishes and homemade Ritz cracker. They really did taste like a Ritz but much elevated. My other favorite of the night was the dessert: the rhubarb, cream cheese semi freddo, and meringue was to absolutely die for. You could really taste the cream cheese. Also notable was the sauce Americaine in the quenelle/lobster dish, I wanted to scoop it up and lick the plate. I see people complaining how it wasn't enough food since you had to share, I didn't have this problem, as I was solo and was able to eat full plates of everything. I enjoyed the final touches at the end, giving out cookies and a bag of Chex Mix. Bravo. I'd maybe come back if I were to travel to Philadelphia again. $120 after tax and tip.“
“Absolutely loved the Sundae. Potato chips and kettle corn must be in all of my sundaes going forward. The latkes were phenomenal - must order. The harissa broccoli was delish. The burrata and focaccia was a delightful favourite. The Caesar salad was overdressed and the croutons were too hard for my preference. The pepperoni pasta was exactly that - not the worst but it was something I'd make drunk in my kitchen at 3 am. Fries were meh.A solid 4 on the food front. Go just for the decor alone, feeling like I was in an 80s golf clubhouse. The pool table is cute and fun too.“
“Amazing little bar with a great beer selection and excellent bar food. The wings were among the best I’ve ever had (and I’m from Alberta - we take wings seriously!) knowledgeable server and very friendly. They put a lot of care into the food and drink of this bar and it shows.“
“A bit loud but great food and so many choices! I would say they offer a good price for the quality. The pizza was top notch - fresh ingredients and well made, as were the polish pierogi, much lighter and more enjoyable than what I’ve had elsewhere. Definitely make a reservation. And there’s no signage outside so make note of the street address so you can find the right door (only the number outside). Have a blast there!Vegetarian options: Yes, many!“
“Super delicious french toast with hot syrup on the side. We sat at the bar and the service was very efficient. Our food came within 10 minutes of ordering and everything was fresh. Plenty of seating at the bar and a lot of tables/ booths in the dining area.“
“Top Notch cocktails, Wayne will not steer you wrong! Both times I've gone he came up with a different variant of the old fashioned, both times they become my new favorite version of the old fashioned. On my last trip there, he didn't hold back, he came up with a stellar old fashioned and served me the best margarita I'd ever had! If Wayne ever asks if you trust him, do it, he will not disappoint! He got a feel for what flavors I like and served me the most phenomenal marg in a big skull glass, the pineapple was so ripe and juicy and the drink itself had the perfect spicy/sweet ratio!! All the bartenders were friendly and served everyone well, we all had a great time! I also love that you can get to-go cups and boxes to enjoy cocktails and food in your room!“
“I’m upset. I wish I had the appetite of four people. This brunch will be the crown jewel of the Italian market. The corn pancakes were phenomenal and there are 10 other things I can’t wait to try. Such a perfect atmosphere for brunch. I am already planning my visit for next week.“
“My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner. Excellent music playing, including Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and Townes van Zandt and beautiful, cozy atmosphere. Began with the venison scrapple (to die for), then to the cheese board (delicious goat cheese), pierogies (incredibly delicate). Then to the venison which was cooked to perfection along with the various sides. Dessert was a cheesecake tart and Elwood tea, very tasty and rich cheesecake. The 2 cookies at the 2nd were also delicious. I don't know if I ever had a better time at a restaurant, but this is easily top 5 meals I've had in years.“
“It’s a nice small area in the city! I definitely wanted to try a meal that night that was culturally different from my usual orders and this did it! This place does a great job of making you feel like you’re in the European city and service was very friendly!Food choices are definitely different but great to experience“
“Food was very good. I ordered the meatloaf. Sides are big enough for the entire table to share. Staff service was excellent everyone was so eager and happy to help. The staff even serve the food onto your plate. Nice dark environment. Drinks definitely were good, I got buzz from one drink. Birthday celebration where they even gave a hand written card. Such a pleasant experience“
“I walked around the mall one day and noticed this new restaurant that was open. I walked in and got a takeout menu, looked at it and said I'm going to come back one day. It took a year but I finally went back My wife and I were on our way to another place to eat lunch and when we drove past the mall we decided to finally try Harvest. The restaurant is nice. Now this is a farm to table restaurant. They even list the farmers on the menu and the menu is seasonal. I'm not a vegetarian, don't care about gluten free and I don't watch calories but if you care about any of those things, this place is for you. So I had a hard time finding something to eat on the menu but I got a chicken club and my wife got the crab cake sandwich. And let me tell you, in 26 years of marriage I've NEVER heard my wife like the food so much! She said she could eat the crab cake sandwich everyday! Very flavorful she said. She said the food was good 4 times while we were sitting there. I couldn't stop laughing. Compliments to the chef! Based off that alone I'm giving 5 stars. My rating would have been 4 stars but again this is not my type of food. The chicken pita sandwich was okay, the chicken was dry. The pita bread made a difference. I'm going back to get that crab cake sandwich.“
“Nice place for a special day! Live music, great views, and it's fun going up the elevator to the restaurantPictured: Squash Blossom Pizza: (Summer squash and sungold tomato sauce, squash blossom, mozzarella and ricotta cheese); Strawberry sundae (brioche croutons, makrut lime sorbet, strawberry jam, mini vanilla meringue drops, freeze dried and fresh strawberries with chantilly cream)“
“Awesome spot with great service, fun atmosphere, and a unique menu. My niece raved about the burger. My mom and I shared the pastrami fried rice which was a delicious surprise. I wasn't expecting how well the flavor combinations come together with the scallions, pastrami, and mustard sauce. The portions are huge! Definitely a go-to spot.“
“This brewery is located at 5th street and Spring Garden street. It has a varied menu and I tried the hummus platter which was rich and smooth. Very fresh vegetables and warm pita triangles. A love stout vanilla beer which was smooth n creamy. My friend had an American burger with fries "very juicy" she like the fries too. My other friend had pork belly on bao buns steamed he said it was okay but he isn't pleased with most things unless his Mom makes it. Service was fantastic!! We ate outside in an enclosed area with ceiling heaters. Quieter. Inside there is a rectangular bar and a huge room filled with Highwood and picnic tables with TVs all around. A great place to meet friends and hangout to watch sports. There beers are excellent.“
“In from va beach for vball tournament. Local friend showed me around and I was lucky enough to land here. The short rib with asparagus and potatoes as side was nothing other than amazing. My 2nd favorite meal over 51 years of life. The only reason there is one piece of Rib on plate is because I couldn't picture the next day without the taste.“
“Been here a few times and am always wowed, one of our favorite restaurants in Philly. We got a bunch of items to share between three of us, the highlight was the stuffed zucchini blossoms which was one of the most amazing things I've had in a while. Cocktails are great, service is friendly and attentive, comfortable atmosphere. Don't skip dessert!“
“Came here for a business dinner. It was really an amazing experience. This place is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. It's a tapas style tasting menu so they just bring you out like a dozen different dishes. The portions were perfect and everything was cooked to perfection. The ambiance is really nice and although the space is small it's not loud at all. I thought the waiter was also very nice professional and knowledgeable. This is definitely a high end place that is worth a visit. This may be one of the best restaurants in Philly.“
“The food was amazing! Although they had a children’s menu, we decided to order a plate for the kids to share. We ordered the mussels (appetizer), slow cooked pork chop, braised beef short ribs and the roasted salmon (mains). Everything was delicious. The pork chop and beef ribs were extremely tender and juicy. The risotto that came with the beef ribs was full of flavor. We cleaned the plates and my kids (who are picky eaters) ate everything, including the vegetables. Not only was the food great, but the service was exceptional. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Our server (regret not asking for his name) stopped by several times throughout our meal to make sure everything was good and to check if we needed anything else. After paying our bill, we were on our way to get our car and found out it was towed because we parked in a no parking zone. (Beware of the signs and read carefully.) Not knowing what to do, we went back to the restaurant for help. That’s how friendly and approachable the staff was. They all helped by looking up phone numbers for the Philadelphia parking authority (I’m not from Philly), helping me call a cab and staying with us (even though they were closing) until our cab arrived. My kids and I are now back at our hotel and extremely grateful for their help. I never really write reviews, but I had to write this one. My first trip to Philly was definitely an unforgettable experience. If I ever take another trip back here, I will definitely come back to Redcrest Kitchen.“
“Great service great food and was in great taste. Not ideal for large groups but we managed to get Reservations for a party of 8 and was seated in the back near the kitchen. They had fantastic craft drinks, delish foods to share like family style and great ambience! Located in a cute neighborhood although it was a little scary to drive to in very narrow streets that are one way, so glad we Uber-ed there since the street parking was a bit cramped as well. Highly recommend!“
“I had a pretty great experience with my girlfriend and family on a Friday night - they were able to get us inside as the outside became fairly windy. Great food, good service - very pleasant and not a bad price at all.The only improvement could be the outdoors structure but apparently they are improving that soon too.“
“Was scrolling through Facebook and came across this place. I read their menu, looked at their pics, and then made a reservation. I’m so glad I did because the food was amazing!!!!! I would highly recommend this place. Setting inside was absolutely beautiful!!“
“If you require a special diet or just choose to have a specific diet, THIS IS THE PLACE TO DINE! They have Gluten-Sensitive, Vegetarian, Lactose/Dairy Sensitive and Vegan menu items! The Gluten-Free Chicken Pesto Flatbread and the G-F Pepperoni Flatbread are so freaking good! The Scallops with Mascarpone Risotto so Phenomenal and GLUTEN-FREE! The Cedar Plank Salmon is so delicate, delicious and GLUTEN-FREE! You definitely want to try the the Chilean Sea Bass! Wow! What a treat! The Korean BBQ Baby Carrots are nice and spicy. With NO Spiked Cider or Seltzer choices here, I recommend red wine, specifically San Giovese! Our servers McKenzie and Evan were attentive and engaging. BTW, all meals are under 590 calories. Be sure to make your reservations now for a really nice evening out.Vegetarian options: Several menu options.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-Sensitive, Lactose/Dairy Sensitive, Vegetarian, and Vegan menu items are available.“
“This space is breathtaking. From the first few steps in, you know it’s going to be a good food experience. Meticulous detail on decor and the dishes. We had an oyster appetizer, fresh and well treated. We tried their pasta dishes and the spicy chicken sandwich and neither disappointed. Hands down best restaurant in the city.“
“We had a work event here before a game. Daisy and Samantha provided great service and our party had a good selection of beer and liquor. The food we had was pretty good, the variety was pretty low. Fun atmosphere for groupsParking: 100 spots for valetWheelchair accessibility: Everywhere is wheelchair accessible“
“I found this cute brunch place and tried their famous French toast—it was amazing! The granola-covered French toast had a slightly crunchy exterior and a soft interior with strawberry cream. It was a big portion, and after finishing it, I felt like I wouldn't want anything sweet for days. Next time, I'll try their Mexican breakfast and share it with my husband along with the French toast. Overall, it's a great place for brunch with yummy food!“
“The food was delicious, albeit pricy, and was neatly complemented by the DJ set as part of their spring happy hour celebrations. I enjoyed just about every part of my experience, aside from moderately slow service. I'd still recommend this hotel-lobby-bar to anyone looking for a lightly upscale good time.“
“One of the best new restaurants in Philly, and it’s BYO! Delicious forward-thinking dishes & excellent service in a quaint Philly row home. Menu is a fixed price and changes often. Included in the price is an appetizer, entree, and dessert.I have been at least 5 times since moving to this neighborhood. I have yet to have any dish that was not excellent. The menu is always creative, the dishes colorful, and service friendly. Cannot recommend enough!“
“Was there last night for early dinner and stayed to see the Eagles first TD. Food was fresh and extremely tasty. The vibe here is great. The service was excellent. Our server, Max, was very personable and gives very good recommendations. Max is not the only server like this. It seems to be the culture there. They have a lot of loyal customers. When we left the was a couple looking for a place to eat and watch the game. I quickly recommended Glory. If in Old City and near Chestnut and 2nd give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.“
“Vernick Food & Drink- Philadelphia, Pa. 5 Stars NUMBER 1 ALL USA ALL-TIME!! As we drive north on Christmas Eve I felt a stop in the City of Brotherly Love was appropriate. It was not easy to reserve a fine dining adventure. Vernick could get us in at 11:00pm. I took it because I know how highly regarded this locale is. As we were driving I called and asked if there had been any cancellations. Lucky for me there was. 6:30pm. With a nine year old in tow it was much better. So we get to the restaurant and it's very small but packed to the rafters with people. This to me is always a good sign. All of the tables were very close together. However, being in an establishment like this you never have to worry. Everyone was dressed up and professional. They only downside to this review is it was too dark inside for me to snap pics of the food. I took them but they did not come out well. On to the substance of the experience. The drink menu is easily the coolest array of cocktails I have ever experienced. I started with the House Old Fashioned. A perfect balance of flavors between the bourbon, the butters and the Demerara sugar. My second drink was the Deshler a fine combination of top shelf rye whiskey, dubonnet and dry curaçao. If we were staying in town a few days I would have had more. As I perused the menu I began to wonder why restaurants with a diverse menu like Vernicks do not exist in my neck of the woods. Anyway, I started with fluke served sashimi style in a light piquant broth. The fluke was so fresh it was still moving on my plate. This was my first foray with fluke and it was way worth it. The adventure continued with veal sweetbreads. This organ was so juicy and tender. The sauce was decadent and smooth. I wrapped up with the venison. I have consumed venison over 20 times in my life. Every single time I always got a gamey note at the end. The Vernick venison was sans that note. How they did it I do not know. My daughter who is finicky tried it and thought it was filet mignon. After finishing the meal, we went to exit and the hostess was handing out packs of fresh baked chocolate fudge cookies. Thoroughly amazing. Big Boy rates this number 1 in the country.“
“I'm a huge fan of Sweet Amalia's, so when we were in the city looking for somewhere to eat I knew I had to check this place out! I starred off with an amazing drink and of course OYSTERS! Both of which were fantastic and a great start. I had the octopus lyonnaise for my meal and then the buttermilk panna cotta for dessert. We sat at the kitchen bar, which was really cool to watch the organized chaos of all of the hard work that goes into each plate. And our server was phenomenal. 5 stars! And already can't wait to go back!“
“Went to Versi Vino for a date night with my husband and had the most delicious wine and cocktails! There are so many amazing wine options! We enjoyed speaking to the owner and she helped us choose a great meal to go with our wine selections. Can’t wait to go back!“
“Great atmosphere! The staff was great and service was fast. Even though the tables were close together where we sat, it wasn't a problem because everyone was kind of vibing the same that day and we ended up talking to our "neighbors" quite a bit.“
“This place is wonderful! I travel to this region often for work and this place has become a staple when I'm in Cherry Hill. The menu has seasonal items so I've been able to try different things on my visits. I've tried the brussel sprouts (delicious) , the Daily Fish at one point was a shrimp and scallops with collards and grits (one of the best meals I've had this year!!) if they have this as an option definitely get it. Pictured is the Cauliflower starter, Spring Scallop Farrotto, carrot cake (so good!), and the Flor de Jamaica drink (it was good but not my favorite) Make a reservation if you plan on arriving after 5pm, but don't let the wait deter you from going.“
“We went around the happy hour time. 4-6 pm and you have to be seated at the bar for the happy hour prices. The service was good, attentive staff. The food was good to my surprise. The crispy cauliflower and mushroom pita pizza are a must-try. The Thai chili wings and Buffalo wings were deliciously sauced, along with my margarita. The Smash burger is a must-try too. It was a cool laid-back happy hour spot. I will be back to try the rest of the menu.“
“This is the spot where my coworkers go after work to unwind. Great selection of cocktails ? , and the only “bar food” that I’ve ever actually enjoyed. In fact I even went back with a friend just to grab lunch , we had the kale salad with chicken and it was delicious“
“LOVED my wet breakfast burrito. It was really really good and the spicy sauce on top is *chef’s kiss*. Just a little heat in a well composed burrito. And big! If I wanted to stuff myself, I would have finished it, but ended up just eating half. The server was the bartender and couldn’t attend to us as she was really doing two jobs (prepping all the drinks and trying to keep our coffees full). But the food was so good that it didn’t bother us much. The outside patio is also so relaxing. Perfect on a nice day.“
“I visited this neighborhood restaurant before. As a couple, we could only try so much of their offerings.Last night was with a large group, which turned out to be fabulous because, thanks to our sharing of all their appetizers and entrees, I had the opportunity to sample much of their menu.I would be remiss if I didn't mention the bartenders' skill and passion in mixing up any cocktail you may wish to have. The wait staff was attentive, accommodating, and professional. The food; lamb tartare, red beet carpaccio, goose/foie gras terrine, duck breast, baked fluke, spinach/ricotta gnocchi, cheddar stuffed hush puppies, double cheeseburger, and the 26oz bone-in ribeye. Everything was amazing, even the 2 desserts and cheese plate, which I only tasted because....too much. We did, for the record, ask for seconds on the duck breast, as it was simply superb. Now, I must say that the wine list, for such a fantastic food line up, was very disappointing. What you see on the menu by the glass, is what is offered by the bottle. Slim pickings. All and all, great drinks and food. Will surely be back.Cheers!“
“First time eating here with group of colleagues. Was enjoyable! We came during a day where it was a fixed menu literal table spread. We had the choice to eat with fingers or with utensils and we all opted to eat with our fingers. There's something enjoyable about being encouraged to eat our food with our hands. Obviously a messy meal but worth it. A garlic fried rice was laid on the table topped with vegetables and Proteins were chicken, pork and fish.Parking: 6pm Weeknight parking in South Philly. Enough said. I feel like if you're willing to park, say, 10 minute walk away versus being super close you will have better luck with parking.“
“On Point was very on point with our brunch. It's a BYOB spot in heart of Point Breeze with some great flavors and vibes. The group sampled quite a few starters including wings and cheesesteak egg rolls. For the main meal I had to go with the Challah French Toast. Unique flavor especially with the cheese and nuts. The group really enjoyed all the food. Our server TJ was also awesome. Made some great suggestions. Catch me back at on point in the summer.“
“The portions were much bigger than expected, and it didn’t lack any quality! The food is very delicious and the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. The service is just right—they make sure we have what we need and don’t bug us. I definitely recommend!!“
“The Barnes Foundation Garden Restaurant is a gem! Beautiful setting and outstanding food and service. The Salade Nicoise was better than I had in Nice on a recent trip! Hats off to chef Michael O’Meara. The choice of greens and dressing superb. We came down from Northern Jersey, joined the museum , and will be back soon to the restaurant. Highly recommended. Locals are fortunate to have access to such a lovely restaurant. Chatted with a local proprietor at the Reading Market after and she concurred.“
“We went there for the first time tonight which happened to be during restaurant week. We ordered from the prix fixe menu with the 3 course meals. It was the most delicious food I have ever had in my life. The service was impeccable. It was definitely a 10/10!!!“
